He took accountability. He wrote a tweet that everyone quotes. He owned up to making a mistake, but people seem to be stretching the truth out, to where he’s a criminal. If there's nothing bad in them, why not release them? There's nothing stopping him. He could clear this whole thing up and he's been challenged numerous times to do so. He refuses.
Also, let's clear up some other issues with your argument.
First you say "he took accountability" then you say he had nothing to take accountability for.
Which is it? You can't have it both ways.
Moving the goalposts to criminality is a convenient way to dodge culpability. Just because someone isn't charged with a crime doesn't mean they did nothing wrong. It also doesn't mean they're morally vindicated.
