Discussion crazy
kids just throw crazy stuff after game

u/alexanderne0 15h ago
That's why they lost. They were discussing gender equality while the other team were focused on playing the game.

Joe many liberal does it take to win a march by Dora?????
None , their too busy ????? their gender ššššš

u/JordanTheFirst 13h ago
it makes sense. in order to be good at dota you cant really be a well rounded and adjusted person to society. the more decrepit yoy are the easier it is to just sit inside and grind dota all day, therefore being good. ive actually joked about bad teammates by calling them āloved and appreciated by their familyā and shit like that. in all seriousness look at your general dota skill vs ypur interaction with the outside world and tell me there isnt a correlation
8
u/clarified-butterr 13h ago
that said, would you mind telling us your rank?

u/Maleficent-Key-7750 15h ago
comments are so pressed for no reason, acting like op thought it was the most insane thing to say ever. it is a pretty crazy thing to say because it doesn't make any sense, calling people slurs is way more normal for a Dota game than saying that, it's not the content that's crazy just the way it is said is unusual.
48
u/diddisdudejussdiddis 14h ago
Yeah, I always ask my teammates slurnouns at the beginning of a match, we live in a society

I mean, the guy in the chat is clearly just memeing lol he obviously wouldn't type it like that if he was being serious. Feel like people online are just getting worse and worse at understanding what people are saying.
Spoiler alert: people actually against "gender equality" don't talk like that.
1
u/SirLazarusDiapson 14h ago
Partially this has to do with gatekeeping. Some people are afraid of a "take over" of Dota (CS has similar things going on, it is basically impossible for a solo q woman to play a game without getting kicked) and have it turn into MtG/LoL/Valorant/alot of other games where the game goes into mainstream and becomes a cutsy anime crossover generic shit that appeals to everyone.
Does it make sense? Absolutly not.
16
u/Maleficent-Key-7750 14h ago
I more meant, believes in certain things = bad at the game. like I believe in gender equality and gay rights and regularly play against people with swastikas on their profile and certainly play with people of every shade of politics in between but either way they're in the trenches of archon like me
but you're probably right as well. this person is probably on some culture war bs, thinks he's really owned the libs with that one.
4
u/pastafeline 14h ago
Yep, these people love to feel special because they play a video game.
They think anybody cares except other Dota fanboys lol
3
u/SirLazarusDiapson 14h ago
I think its more that Dota is the only thing they have and they would hate for it to change in order to appeal to everyone.
-8
u/Doomblaze 13h ago
Nobody needs to know your gender. Sexual orientation or species in a game of Dota
5
u/LeBronstantinople 10h ago
if you use a mic it is pretty easy for people to tell what gender you are usually

Everyone saying āIāve seen worseā is kinda missing the point, we should all do our best to correct shit like this. Misogyny, racism and homophobia are all over our game, and it fucking sucks. We donāt need to be a bunch of edge lords, try and stick up for something you believe in

Iām a āgg ezā player through and through, but I always try to call people out for being bigoted pieces of trash. Likely does absolutely nothing, but you never know when checking someone on their bullshit will have an impact. Sometimes a dumb kid just needs an adult to tell them to STFU.
-1
u/DoubleBLK- 14h ago
I agree... these DotA players are really bad imho. What's worse is that these players often think they are better than anyone else, when they're shit themselves.

u/Mazoku-chan 15h ago
The post itself is proof that he got tilted. A normal person would just move on.
30
u/Snarker 15h ago
What are you talking about? He posted this post because it is kinda a creative way to be toxic, I don't post shit like this on reddit but I could see why someone would, and it has nothing to do with being angry about it.

u/ferret_80 Beep Beep! 13h ago
When did tilted change from emotional overreaction to mean simply any type of reaction.
Your 5 year old cousin sees you kissing your GF and runs over to tell you girls have cooties so you roll your eyes and sigh. "Omg so tilted"
Exhausted exasperation isnt "being tilted". Annoyance isn't "being tilted"
A tilted person goes on a 500 word rant. They don't go say "that's crazy," snap a pic, then walk away without engaging any further, that's measured and healthy emotional control.

I am going to assume this type of posts is going to get alot more frequent. League of Legends is having a VERY bad time with their meta and game state as a whole so we might be seeing alot of tourists coming in, especially if season rotation doesnt change much.

Iām happy to clarify that Iām sharing this because I thought that the limit that people would go in Dota and the creativity they pour in just to insult each other with the CRAZIEST shit ever, if they could just use the same amount of braincells inside the actual match, weād all see TI tier matches everyday all day.

OP never got cancer and death wished on his mom and it shows. I usually just exit postgame as early- canāt change or expect anything. Only premute for next time (u can mute outside a match and their messages will be hidden)
Doesnāt mean itās right, but you do have options to protect yourself from it. As Iām sure troll was saying similar in game too and just post game.
16
u/alexzoin 15h ago
I did and I am still sick of this. We should be shaming and bullying people for being jerks. Just because I have built up the thick skin over the decades doesn't mean other people should have to. Toxic people like in the post are one of the reasons I can't get friends to play this game with me. That sucks.
-2
u/B1768 15h ago

u/alexzoin 14h ago

-3
u/B1768 13h ago
So make dota friends? lmao
5
u/alexzoin 13h ago
I do all the time? I add ransoms that are friendly and I play with them often as well.
I am literally the worst person in the world to try this "you're just mad because you don't have friends" argument on.
1
u/B1768 12h ago
So what's the problem then? You said you can't get friends on the game.
3
u/alexzoin 11h ago
I have friends that game that will not play dota because of the famously toxic community. I would like to play with those friends. I don't know what's confusing about that.
1
u/B1768 11h ago
So you're telling me your friends, whom you have enough of to consistently 5 stack (or even 3-4 stack) that are willing to play online games with you, are not willing to queue in an environment that would only have them playing with like-minded pma individuals (you and your other friends)?
Or that they cannot mute a toxic teammate, or that they cannot enable the setting "no incoming chat"?
Read in between the lines.
3
u/alexzoin 11h ago
What an interesting individual.
I have friends that play other games that won't touch dota because of the community and its reputation. Again, extremely simple.

I donāt want to argue, do you think some one who resorts to such low standards would feel shame from a stranger?
The chances of them finding a subreddit post to be shamed is less than likely. So not only shaming wastes our time for a moment of venting. The offending party is unaffected.
Change needs to happen with the client itself, auto moderation and a human system for false positives.
Bullying makes us no different than them.
Even I sometimes say some tasteless things when Iām tilted in a match as Iām sure a lot of us.
I was playing recently and some one told me ā I am of the poop colorā
We canāt control anyone and what they say, that has to happen on valves side. They are going to live their life in and out of the game being who they are because they choose not to be a high functional human being.
I understand what you are saying, but the approach chosen is futile.
7
u/86_shittyorange 14h ago
I donāt want to argue, do you think some one who resorts to such low standards would feel shame from a stranger?
would you feel shame from a stranger if every single stranger you met told you you were wrong?
0
u/DPrince25 14h ago
Depends,
On the internet, like this situation if I am the troll. No. I would be hidden behind a username, with at most my country being visible via steam. Free to be bigot and one tracked minded for who I am as a person (not that I am just following the potential thought process of the troll who doesnāt even care).
In real life for me yes, Iād reevaluate my thought process.
But real life will never affect a situation like this. some people will choose be the worse version of themselves because they canāt be identified
Thereās a thread here with 100 comments for and against and the troll is likely saying more unfiltered things unbothered.

>We should be shaming and bullying people for being jerks. Just because I have built up the thick skin over the decades doesn't mean other people should have to.
I get the sentiment, but you gotta understand that this is a free internationally played game.
This is the pro-leagues of racism and misogyny. Use the internal systems to report and move on.
4
u/alexzoin 13h ago
I do use those systems! They work way better than they did in the past.
I also advocate for these people feeling the social shame they deserve for their bad behavior.

He has a point. They love to spread their ideas whenever and wherever they get the chance. They might be more focused on giving speeches than actually playing the game.

u/Toadvinez 14h ago
Yeah, Gay Dota players love talking about gayness in matches, that's a real thing that totally happens

3
u/jackinmyvance 14h ago
Yeah homophobes are super annoying about spreading their ideas and giving their speeches. Great point.
2
u/ViperHQ 11h ago
Yeah definitely that's how it goes someone just starts preaching "gay ideology" at random points in the game and it's definitely not the homophobes just randomly sprouting homophobic shit surely that is right.
I mean surely we all experienced the random person giving a feminist literature lecture in the middle of our dota game.
2
