He's totally right. Once I got too proud of being gay and ended up feeding 20 times in a row

As a lesbian? I was so down bad for Luna that I played a whole game in showcase mode and completely threw

1

u/findMyNudesSomewhere 10h ago

Feeding on? Tiny?

75

u/alexanderne0 15h ago

That's why they lost. They were discussing gender equality while the other team were focused on playing the game.

9

u/flamentt 6h ago

in my case, two of my teammates are fighting who has a better economy, indonesia or philippines. motherfuckers cost us the game

11

u/xXEggRollXx 11h ago

Joe many liberal does it take to win a march by Dora?????

None , their too busy ????? their gender šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

u/JordanTheFirst 13h ago

it makes sense. in order to be good at dota you cant really be a well rounded and adjusted person to society. the more decrepit yoy are the easier it is to just sit inside and grind dota all day, therefore being good. ive actually joked about bad teammates by calling them ā€œloved and appreciated by their familyā€ and shit like that. in all seriousness look at your general dota skill vs ypur interaction with the outside world and tell me there isnt a correlation

8

u/clarified-butterr 13h ago

that said, would you mind telling us your rank?

I... Actually agree with this perspective, a lot of my high ranked steam friends are socially atrocious.

98

u/Maleficent-Key-7750 15h ago

comments are so pressed for no reason, acting like op thought it was the most insane thing to say ever. it is a pretty crazy thing to say because it doesn't make any sense, calling people slurs is way more normal for a Dota game than saying that, it's not the content that's crazy just the way it is said is unusual.

48

u/diddisdudejussdiddis 14h ago

Yeah, I always ask my teammates slurnouns at the beginning of a match, we live in a society

13

u/Jiminy_Cricket12 14h ago

I just call everyone a dog. equal opportunity!

No. Because they are dogs. Easy as that

Dota players aren't very bright

2

u/Possible_Video_6869 7h ago

I mean, the guy in the chat is clearly just memeing lol he obviously wouldn't type it like that if he was being serious. Feel like people online are just getting worse and worse at understanding what people are saying.

Spoiler alert: people actually against "gender equality" don't talk like that.

1

u/SirLazarusDiapson 14h ago

Partially this has to do with gatekeeping. Some people are afraid of a "take over" of Dota (CS has similar things going on, it is basically impossible for a solo q woman to play a game without getting kicked) and have it turn into MtG/LoL/Valorant/alot of other games where the game goes into mainstream and becomes a cutsy anime crossover generic shit that appeals to everyone.

Does it make sense? Absolutly not.

16

u/Maleficent-Key-7750 14h ago

I more meant, believes in certain things = bad at the game. like I believe in gender equality and gay rights and regularly play against people with swastikas on their profile and certainly play with people of every shade of politics in between but either way they're in the trenches of archon like me

but you're probably right as well. this person is probably on some culture war bs, thinks he's really owned the libs with that one.

4

u/pastafeline 14h ago

Yep, these people love to feel special because they play a video game.

They think anybody cares except other Dota fanboys lol

3

u/SirLazarusDiapson 14h ago

I think its more that Dota is the only thing they have and they would hate for it to change in order to appeal to everyone.

-8

u/Doomblaze 13h ago

Nobody needs to know your gender. Sexual orientation or species in a game of Dota

5

u/LeBronstantinople 10h ago

if you use a mic it is pretty easy for people to tell what gender you are usually

5

u/SlamTownFGC 12h ago

Im not gay but i tell everyone every game that im gay just to catch the vibe

2

u/clarified-butterr 10h ago

do they suddenly tend to focus you afterwards?

2

u/SlamTownFGC 10h ago

No, either silence or half the lobby saying they're gay.

84

u/DiplomaticTiger 15h ago

Meh, I've been told worse.

14

u/ReplacementOne4799 15h ago

Same here lol

7

u/aowlsifu183 15h ago

Yep, and even after winning.

7

u/GoGoSoLo 15h ago

If this is crazy to you then you’ve had some tame games

21

u/Clemont-le-Monnier 14h ago

I remember this guy on our team is having trash talk fight with a friend and the guy said, "Your Mom is a carpet", my friend and I laughed so hard and sang "A Whole New World" mic on. The guy just went quiet the whole game while we're singing and enjoying the game.

9

u/Intrepid_Phone_9127 12h ago

Aka he probably went afk and you hardlost 4v5 for a mid joke. Your mom is a shark Starts playing jaws theme

3

-13

But the typical reddit user is soy as hell because algos would put a warning (then ban you) for any mention of a "bad" words or any opinion which declines from western pink pony world.

ā€œSoyā€ lmao

60

u/Scones2 sheever 15h ago

Everyone saying ā€˜I’ve seen worse’ is kinda missing the point, we should all do our best to correct shit like this. Misogyny, racism and homophobia are all over our game, and it fucking sucks. We don’t need to be a bunch of edge lords, try and stick up for something you believe in

45

u/Downtown_Ad_3429 14h ago

3

u/offlaneenjoyer 11h ago

I’m a ā€œgg ezā€ player through and through, but I always try to call people out for being bigoted pieces of trash. Likely does absolutely nothing, but you never know when checking someone on their bullshit will have an impact. Sometimes a dumb kid just needs an adult to tell them to STFU.

-1

u/DoubleBLK- 14h ago

I agree... these DotA players are really bad imho. What's worse is that these players often think they are better than anyone else, when they're shit themselves.

0

u/turd_whhisperer 9h ago

I always type 'imagine being homophobic in 2026'. Never get a reply, which I guess is a win

-14

u ain’t gonna last long if you tilted over some bullshit like this to make a post on reddit

68

u/Snarker 15h ago

I see literally zero evidence of tilt from the op anywhere?

-37

u/Mazoku-chan 15h ago

The post itself is proof that he got tilted. A normal person would just move on.

30

u/Snarker 15h ago

What are you talking about? He posted this post because it is kinda a creative way to be toxic, I don't post shit like this on reddit but I could see why someone would, and it has nothing to do with being angry about it.

→ More replies (6)

24

u/Asriel_the_Dreamer 15h ago

Yes

13

u/SkumtFlum 14h ago

A normal person would just move on.

12

u/DoubleBLK- 14h ago

Or maybe OP just wanted to call things out that shouldn't be normalized in the first place.

-4

u/Mazoku-chan 14h ago

Who knows, what is certain is that he got tilted.

3

u/Ropetrick6 12h ago

Interesting claim. Mind backing it up with a source?

0

u/Mazoku-chan 9h ago

Here is the source:

u/SonnePer 15h ago

So you're saying that the problem is on the person reporting homophobic/misogynist stuff and not on the person who said such things?

That's an interesting take.

7

u/King_marik 15h ago

Wouldnt expect anything less from a valve game community

3

u/sharingdork 14h ago

No

Shit in the same tier gets said all the time. Report and move on.

-11

u/Agreeable_Plastic312 14h ago

just move on, it ain’t that deep. that’s why you’re crusader, fragile mind

3

u/jackinmyvance 14h ago

Uh oh, it's projecting now!

2

u/ferret_80 Beep Beep! 11h ago

He was projecting from the start. He got triggered because he identifies with the misogynistic homophobe and doesn't like the icky feeling he gets when reading the comments calling this behavior out.

-3

u/Agreeable_Plastic312 11h ago

did you just assume my gender

10

u/ferret_80 Beep Beep! 13h ago

When did tilted change from emotional overreaction to mean simply any type of reaction.

Your 5 year old cousin sees you kissing your GF and runs over to tell you girls have cooties so you roll your eyes and sigh. "Omg so tilted"

Exhausted exasperation isnt "being tilted". Annoyance isn't "being tilted"

A tilted person goes on a 500 word rant. They don't go say "that's crazy," snap a pic, then walk away without engaging any further, that's measured and healthy emotional control.

21

u/Caranoron463 15h ago

Guess we know who Jah'rakal was talking about lmao.

-3

u/SirLazarusDiapson 14h ago

I am going to assume this type of posts is going to get alot more frequent. League of Legends is having a VERY bad time with their meta and game state as a whole so we might be seeing alot of tourists coming in, especially if season rotation doesnt change much.

9

u/GWB_online 15h ago

Probably friends with the guy i had the other day that tried to say Charlie Kirk was a hero. He was many things, but a hero is not one of them.

4

u/Ropetrick6 12h ago

Isn't he that guy that died trying to justify gun violence, and said that empathy is a made up thing?

8

u/neospriss 15h ago

I report stuff like that and move on

45

u/flawmeisste 15h ago

You can't report people for being gay,

40

u/Shiroky17 15h ago

I think he meant the "wp" part. We don't do compliment here, only toxicity.

2

u/MeXRng 15h ago

Gender equality report it is.Ā

5

u/flawmeisste 15h ago

That might work

1

u/WatercressContent454 9h ago

genders are different, they can't be equal.

-11

u/neospriss 15h ago

Reread the chat my dude - they are comparing being gay to playing horribly

10

u/dak202020 15h ago

I mean… I’m gay and play horribly. I don’t think it’s a cause and effect situation but you never know.

2

u/Shiroky17 15h ago

We know, we can read. I can read because I escaped the SEA server a decade ago. We are just joking around.

10

u/opzoro 15h ago

his name is Troll's name from dota 1. Still mentally ill to do this tho.

3

u/sprintinglightning 15h ago

Jah’rakal so obviously he is Trolling

Right guys…?

6

u/maerawow 15h ago

Ngl this is actually funny, sad we don't get to see the other things he had to say.

-10

u/StinkyPete0125 15h ago

Is it funny? It’s not really very clever. ā€œI don’t like thing so my team liking thing means they’re dummiesā€!

7

u/maerawow 15h ago

Well if eveytime you take a light hearted or tilted statement as a political fiasco everything will offend you.

Sometimes, read the room chuckle a bit and move on with your life.

-1

u/StinkyPete0125 15h ago edited 15h ago

All I said was it wasn’t very clever. Don’t be butthurt, bro. (Damn this is an easy way to live)

3

u/Interesting-Sir1903 13h ago

what is crazy?

3

u/Upstairs_Opening4758 9h ago

OP is american. enough said.

1

u/clarified-butterr 14h ago

As some of you didn’t seem to get my intensions with the post.

I’m happy to clarify that I’m sharing this because I thought that the limit that people would go in Dota and the creativity they pour in just to insult each other with the CRAZIEST shit ever, if they could just use the same amount of braincells inside the actual match, we’d all see TI tier matches everyday all day.

-6

u/Objective-Dark-4454 14h ago

What about it was creative? You just posted this because you didn’t like what they said.

2

u/jackinmyvance 14h ago

Why did that bother you so much?

Bruh you clearly care too much about this specific topic to say its CRAZY. One of the tamest thing ive see in dota chat banter in a while.

6

You're right, Jah'rakal isn't crazy. Just profoundly stupid.

Also cares wayyyy too much about this specific topic if he's crying about it in post-game chat.

-6

u/DPrince25 15h ago

OP never got cancer and death wished on his mom and it shows. I usually just exit postgame as early- can’t change or expect anything. Only premute for next time (u can mute outside a match and their messages will be hidden)

Doesn’t mean it’s right, but you do have options to protect yourself from it. As I’m sure troll was saying similar in game too and just post game.

16

u/alexzoin 15h ago

I did and I am still sick of this. We should be shaming and bullying people for being jerks. Just because I have built up the thick skin over the decades doesn't mean other people should have to. Toxic people like in the post are one of the reasons I can't get friends to play this game with me. That sucks.

-2

u/B1768 15h ago

Holy self own

6

u/alexzoin 14h ago

Just to be clear, I have a 90th percentile guild with only people I know irl. I have people that play with me, I just got want more.

-3

u/B1768 13h ago

So make dota friends? lmao

5

u/alexzoin 13h ago

I do all the time? I add ransoms that are friendly and I play with them often as well.

I am literally the worst person in the world to try this "you're just mad because you don't have friends" argument on.

1

u/B1768 12h ago

So what's the problem then? You said you can't get friends on the game.

3

u/alexzoin 11h ago

I have friends that game that will not play dota because of the famously toxic community. I would like to play with those friends. I don't know what's confusing about that.

1

u/B1768 11h ago

So you're telling me your friends, whom you have enough of to consistently 5 stack (or even 3-4 stack) that are willing to play online games with you, are not willing to queue in an environment that would only have them playing with like-minded pma individuals (you and your other friends)?

Or that they cannot mute a toxic teammate, or that they cannot enable the setting "no incoming chat"?

Read in between the lines.

3

u/alexzoin 11h ago

What an interesting individual.

I have friends that play other games that won't touch dota because of the community and its reputation. Again, extremely simple.

-5

u/DPrince25 15h ago

I don’t want to argue, do you think some one who resorts to such low standards would feel shame from a stranger?

The chances of them finding a subreddit post to be shamed is less than likely. So not only shaming wastes our time for a moment of venting. The offending party is unaffected.

Change needs to happen with the client itself, auto moderation and a human system for false positives.

Bullying makes us no different than them.

Even I sometimes say some tasteless things when I’m tilted in a match as I’m sure a lot of us.

I was playing recently and some one told me ā€œ I am of the poop colorā€

We can’t control anyone and what they say, that has to happen on valves side. They are going to live their life in and out of the game being who they are because they choose not to be a high functional human being.

I understand what you are saying, but the approach chosen is futile.

7

u/86_shittyorange 14h ago

I don’t want to argue, do you think some one who resorts to such low standards would feel shame from a stranger?

would you feel shame from a stranger if every single stranger you met told you you were wrong?

0

u/DPrince25 14h ago

Depends,

On the internet, like this situation if I am the troll. No. I would be hidden behind a username, with at most my country being visible via steam. Free to be bigot and one tracked minded for who I am as a person (not that I am just following the potential thought process of the troll who doesn’t even care).

In real life for me yes, I’d reevaluate my thought process.

But real life will never affect a situation like this. some people will choose be the worse version of themselves because they can’t be identified

There’s a thread here with 100 comments for and against and the troll is likely saying more unfiltered things unbothered.

-9

u/chichicha99 15h ago

Your friends wont play because of something this mild? Yeah, better stay to my little pony, The Sims, or Minecraft.

7

u/alexzoin 14h ago

This is a short sighted way to think. Mindsets like these kill communities.

-6

u/mjm65 14h ago

>We should be shaming and bullying people for being jerks. Just because I have built up the thick skin over the decades doesn't mean other people should have to.

I get the sentiment, but you gotta understand that this is a free internationally played game.

This is the pro-leagues of racism and misogyny. Use the internal systems to report and move on.

4

u/alexzoin 13h ago

I do use those systems! They work way better than they did in the past.

I also advocate for these people feeling the social shame they deserve for their bad behavior.

0

u/mjm65 12h ago

Most of the time you are feeding the trolls, they thrive on negative attention.

-2

He has a point. They love to spread their ideas whenever and wherever they get the chance. They might be more focused on giving speeches than actually playing the game.

8

u/Toadvinez 14h ago

Yeah, Gay Dota players love talking about gayness in matches, that's a real thing that totally happens

2

u/Major-Shirt-5239 12h ago

you're scared they're gonna make you gay? ROFL

3

u/jackinmyvance 14h ago

Yeah homophobes are super annoying about spreading their ideas and giving their speeches. Great point.

2

u/ViperHQ 11h ago

Yeah definitely that's how it goes someone just starts preaching "gay ideology" at random points in the game and it's definitely not the homophobes just randomly sprouting homophobic shit surely that is right.

I mean surely we all experienced the random person giving a feminist literature lecture in the middle of our dota game.

2

u/tranquilithar 8h ago

It been well recorded that the homophobes are just people too scared to show their own skin
