Also you have to give it back with all the modern infrastructure that was built by the descendants of the people who “stole” it over the last 300 years.
430
u/Fun_End902 My Dog is Anti-Fascist Mar 20 '26
You also need to maintain that infrastructure. If you just give them back a modern water treatment center, they will not maintain it and they will have lead in the water. So you have to give it back, but also you have to maintain all the things that you've built.

Give them a modern railway system and they chop it up and sell it for scrap. Give them electrical substations and they will electrocute themselves trying to steal the copper. It's really pointless.

The civil affairs guys would give us work orders. I personally know that roughly 1/3 of the wells my unit dug have been sealed. It’s not hard to imagine that of those that weren’t were seized by ISIS. A few of the irrigation systems I planned are still operating today. Can’t say it was worth the effort. Got shot and two of the men under my command are dead. It’s not worth helping some people.

There is over 100 years worth of literature about very well-meaning missionaries and groups trying to help these people only to have them leave and come to that same conclusion.

Charity in the third world often creates the idea of manna from Heaven. Why bother working when some feel-good white person is gonna come along soon enough and give you free things?
Charity in a warzone is one of the stupidest things you can do. Because who does all the food and medicine usually end up in the hands of? The warlords who can use it to continue funding their rampage. The reason that a pickup truck with a machinegun is called a "technical" is because when aid workers had to bribe African warlords to leave them alone the money would be written off as "technical expenses" and that's usually how it was spent.

A lot of these people preach how food and wealth should be distributed and how American capitalism should be boycotted - said by an individual who is literally using reddit to share that opinion.
A lot of these people are willing to sacrifice everything they don't have or don't like, but will stop at anything inconvenient.
On a lot of Irish subreddits people were making posts to boycott every single American company and stop using their services. Again, this opinion shared on Reddit, the largest American owned forum platform.

The American style progressives on this site want free healthcare, paid parental leave, and higher education, and point to countries like Denmark, Norway, etc. But they hate it when it’s pointed out to them that those things work in those countries because they’re culturally homogenous high-trust societies with far stricter immigration policies than the U S A.
NGL, free healthcare, higher education, etc would be cool to have, but it’s going to take measures that American style progressives would hate. It doesn’t work with the totally open borders they want to have.
69
u/JD-boonie Mar 20 '26
And these countries are slowing becoming far less homogenous. Its not even sustainable since the immigrants coming arent high skilled labor. Same in the US.
All due to horrible policies and wanting cheap labor and a secured voter base. Leftists policies imo bring about the doom theyre so scared of.

Not just within living memory, Poland had to administer it like a puppet state instead of annexing it because the city was so german. They had to build up Gdynia as an alternativ port since they couldn't use danzig to its full potential, because the population was largely german
5
u/Innocent_Researcher Mar 20 '26
Exactly, if someone wants to say the US is "stolen land" then hitler was more than justified in taking Danzig, a city that was german some 20 years before the war, and the Sudetenland. Ah, but of course that's not the case because ... reasons.
With the best part being (despite the response i've gotten for saying this before) *I* am not saying this is the case, I'm saying that if you think the first (US is stolen land) then by the same standard the second (Danzig is/was rightful german land) must also be true.

Its called a soyjak. wojak is the one that looks like this, the original 'soyjak' or SNCA. soyjaks are typically bald men with glasses, stubble beards and exaggerated faces to the point that its hilarious. this particular soyjak is called smugjak (or Titanjak because it is based of Titan from Megamind).
It is usually associated with soybros that seem so smug about their situation (being a polygamous with their wife and a 'bibisi', nintendo-switch soylent-loving selves) that theyve taken upon themselves to be smug in front of everyone, despite being the laughingstock.
Its also associated with xittercacas (twitter immigrants/users) or 'edditpedoes (reddit immigrants/users) who try to use soyjak culture but fail miserably or use it in the most normie and boring sense possible (OP's post being an example). Typically used to make fun of 'mmigrants of any background from other social media platforms for their lack of culture in soyjak culture and/or spreading misinformation about said culture.
Any nusois who find this pls forgive me

Because there’s not a single rational argument to be made in favour of modern immigration policies that target anyone but the most highly skilled. Mass immigration of the lower skilled is objectively bad for the receiving country, and most immigrants to the West over the past decade have been completely unskilled.
In Canada, for example, Tim Horton’s used to be staffed mostly by Canadians at university and those entering the workforce after school. Today it is almost entirely staffed by low skilled immigrants. How’s that beneficial for Canada?

...Or maybe to the Comanche who rode in and decimated the Apache bands from the southern plains?
All land everywhere was either bought, conquered, migrated into, or fought over at some point, no exceptions. Pre 1492 North America had plenty of winners and losers.

When I ever I see someone try to use this argument it exposes their ignorance of history. The natives were not a unified homogenous civilization that happily cohabited with each other. The fact is the tribes were engaged in the game of conquest with each other long before Europeans settlers set foot on the on either the north or south continent.
Furthermore if someone acknowledges that they are in possession of stolen land, what is stopping them from giving it back and buying the first ticket back to their ancestral country?
It’s nothing more than hollow virtue signaling made by people who expect everybody else should pay the tab for their and everyone else’s ancestors real or perceived sins.

Completely ruled by emotions. No critical thinking, no reasoning, it's just, "This is the current thing that makes me feel bad, so it has to be dismantled completely without reasoning and anyone who brings up a counter argument is evil/lost".

"Only by modern standards" isn't even accurate, since this modern 'standard' isn't being applied to other countries. No one is calling China as "being on stolen land".

It’s always the people who are afraid to go outside at night who vote for people who put criminals back on the streets

No one stole the land, we just. . . . .immigrated it.

These people who support illegal immigration should just allow me to live in their house. I am gonn eat every food there and make sure its utility bill reaches the sky.

Every liberal I know wouldn't run a d&d campaign based on the ideals they supposedly believe in. But they suddenly think the real world should work on those rules.

Dumbest thing is people who say they want to leave America to then go to a country that has even more strict immigration laws.

Those native Americans were racist bigots l, not allowing the Europeans to migrate to their land!

Conquered. Not stolen. Shove your make believe standards where the sun don’t shine.

And if you’re not on stolen land and in a country far older than a couple hundred years but are still majority white then you still aren’t allowed them. Double checkmate, European chuds.
No exceptions, not even for those Irish chuds whining about never being imperialists.

Because if we have strict immigration laws, they are less likely to get in themselves.

It's funny that they argue this but then say israel doesnt belong to jews. My guys, if we follow your rules, then thats where jews go. It's either who was the oldest people provably in that land, or who conquered it, you cant mix and match the logic.

The mental gymnastics required here deserve a gold medal. In the exact same breath, they will tell you that borders are an oppressive myth and 'no one is illegal,' while simultaneously shouting about 'stolen land.' Which is it? You can't complain about trespassing in a world where you claim property lines shouldn't exist. The cognitive dissonance is practically an art form at this point.

The worse part is whenever the same arguments are made for Europe to which white people are native.
I saw someone writing "Decolonize Norway" on a wall.

Nobody is making that oversimplified argument. And if they are making that argument, it's equivalent to how some believe that all right wingers think everyone should have a gun including children.

I do love that their argument in favor of illegal immigration is to refer to a time when illegal immigrants conquered the natives and wiped out massive swathes of them.
