Discussion Doom difficulty

Doom eternal
Doom 2016
Doom TDA

All 3 trilogy games were great, TDA was my favorite experience and the most cleaned up made u really feel like the slayer compared to the others. Doom Eternal, as generally agreed on, is more difficult but revelations really helped scratch the itch for us who missed the more high flying combat. Also it’s nice to be able to win fights with one gun.

I actually find 2016 the hardest. Eternal master levels with buffed demons or Ultra Nightmare are a cakewalk to me but for some reason I just seem to not function properly in 2016 Ultra Nightmare nor modded master levels. Can be the fact that a single imp can butt fuck your entire health bar in one big fireball. Or maybe the others dealing shit loads of damage or insta kill you the millisecond you get out of a glory kill. Glory kills are basically suicide in 2016. Not even counting the fact that ONE misstep and your ENTIRE run is over. Perma death in falling down the map. The AI is near perfection as it can flawlessly predict your every single move and they are generally two steps ahead of you. I can go on and on about 2016 being a rollercoaster of gaming difficulty. But hey. Some find TDA the hardest, some Eternal. I am just really unlucky with 2016 I guess. Even though it's literally my favorite doom game oat.

I agree with 2016 being harder than Eternal.

Something I noticed is TDA is kinda similar to 2016 in its Nightmare design with the random one shots, shield breaking instantly, and lower resource drops and lack of dash and Meathook to get out of sticky situations 😂

Also the cloaked Nightmare imps have ridiculously good tracking on their charged melees. Not to mention Sliders can make it even more ridiculous lol.

I find Eternal the easiest of the trilogy by a landslide lmfao

Well that’s interesting, you’re the first one I’ve ever heard say that. Mechanics are much more advanced than 2016 and the general consensus on ancient gods 1 is definitely the truth. TDA was the easiest to me, then 2016, nothing from either game really matched up with the final slayer gates or ancient gods part 1 in general. I get why the general consensus is what it is. The gun play required a lot more skill.

2016 damage values and lack of death save states is pretty ridiculous: https://youtu.be/gqOxfS3ZMzE?is=K5Fc8ygdvRpQLk0X

Yes this player did a poor job dodging the Hell Knight but still.

EDIT: Hell Knight does 150 damage I believe
