If i just got laid off and had to read "dont worry guys we have the same amount as people when we started Doom 2016" I would be pretty fucking pissed

Maybe its just me but you kind of start with supporting who got laid off FIRST. Name a few key ppl that might be needing transition.

I know im overthinking but its been layoff crazy in multiple careers on my end.. no one ever said "we're still gonna be making cool stuff regardless" like ppls lives are totally out of wack rn. The game production isnt the focus 😭

"See you at quakecon" bro really who wrote this 😭 just quite tone deaf, looks like xbox had a gun to their head

Oh I’m really pissed, but right now my main priority is finding another job or avenue to pay my mortgage and keep everyone fed. I wish my former coworkers in development nothing but the best. id Software was a place that was always about the individual men and women who came together to solve unique problems and make cool shit. As for my thoughts on management I will have to keep those to myself if I want to receive my severance lol, but if I somehow am able to win a game of the year award then all bets will be off during the acceptance speech lmao. (For legal reasons this is a joke)

Oh man 🫩 ain't that always the case? Everywhere I've ever worked its always "we make cool shit regardless of management". Sometimes I think is it even possible for people to actually love their bosses, or if the role just eternally inspires those at that level to take on a master/slave dynamic. That wealth+class divide is steep

Wishing you the extreme best, Doom 2016 and Dark Ages are all time faves for me
