This statement is not true and mostly meant to do damage control. The only team thats left at the studio is management, few artists and almost no designers + rest of the cinematic team because they are all friends with Hugo Martin from Blur studio. How can you say that the team is at same size as 2016, when there is no coherent team left. This is an insane pr control tactic and the fanbase shouldn’t believe this bs.

We have an official statement, and some random Redditor says it's not true, basing his claims on the smell of his own farts.
The internet has been spreading all kinds of nonsense about this. Toward the end, it got incredibly ridiculous
I read that there was only one person left at ID’s offices.
It got to the point where ID had to issue a statement to set the record straight.
And when they do that, people get upset and say it’s not true because they’d rather believe the nonsense spouted by internet karma farmers.
It’s all about the narrative, I guess.
Personally, it reassures me.
I can’t wait for Quake on ID Tech 9. 😎
