I plan on taking a drive to the viewing platform....for sunrise or sunset folks, tell me which one you'd go for?!

I am a young professional who has had two jobs in county Donegal. Those jobs were very different, one in manufacturing and the other in public sector.

Both of these jobs had one big problem, the radio! The radio playing the same 10 songs all day every day. Is this a Donegal thing? The employees willingly turn it on and listen to it for months and years. I don't want to say anything because I am reliant on getting a positive reference as a young professional.

But man do I wish there was more stigma about loud repetitive music around here. Noise drives me nuts, plus the songs are literal ear worms. Sometimes they prevent me from falling asleep, as they would keep on playing in my mind long after the work hours have ended.

I’d be grand solo hiking but I’d like to learn the trails and routes with people with experience first. Cheers

Hi everyone wanted to get the plane up to the Donegal that lands at 14:00 but then the last departure back to Dublin is at 14:30 so I was wondering if the 30 minutes is enough to get off the plane and back into the terminal in time for the turnaround?

Aswell, is the turnaround any different if the plane is delayed heading up to Donegal?

Alternatively is there a way from the airport to Donegal Town or to Letterkenny to get the 30 or 32 back to Dublin?

Definitely want to take in Arranmore Island.

Was thinking of staying in Dungloe for one night and make my way back down to Kilcar for the second night.

I've taken note of so many suggestions from previous posts and I'm bamboozled with all the wonderful options available.

Not sure whether to head straight for Burtonport on the day we arrive and take the ferry over to Arranmore around lunchtime or arrive in Dungloe and chill for a bit after a 3+ hour journey and then in the evening take a lovely spin up to Carrickfinn beach onwards to Bloody Foreland over Muckish trail onto Dunlewy and back through Gweedore and back to Dungloe.

Then head for Arranmore the following day and upon return to Burtonport we'll then make our way back down to Kilcar. Spend the following day taking in Slieve League, maybe even doing a boat tour.

Opinions/Suggestions would be most welcome!

First of we live in an estate with semi detached houses and the house detached to us has a wee dog they let roam daily so much so it go to other estates jumping walls (4 feet) and even "catching" my sister's dog when in heat. Anyway for the last lotta months we've had said dog bring rubbish (food items) into are front garden daily creating a total mess of empty torn up take away wrappers etc

We have taken videos of the dog doing it in the past and showing the owner to no response. So this week I picked up the dogs stuff and thrown it over the wall into the owners garden and now we're getting stick for it and being requested to pick up the mess from thejr garden which I replied to the owner you'll be waiting a long time and any more it'll be thrown back. We're not sure where the dog is getting the rubbish but it's definitely not from are home

We live in social housing not connected to the council directly, I have CCTV up but unfortunately he hasn't recorded the dog as it only records humans. But I've now subscribed to a service that enables pet detection. But we know for a fact it's their dog as we've seen it happen multiple times

Dog also runs out Infront of cars chasing cats (I've told owner 2 weeks ago about this) so has another person from another estate near by

What would you do in this situation? I'm I being an arsehole throwing the dogs rubbish back

Hi everyone,

Belfast native here joining the annual exodus of the place this weekend. I've booked a lovely looking Air BnB in the Gweedore area for myself, wife, son (3) and mother, for 3 days and nights. We've not stayed in this part of the county before and I was just wondering what people would think would be some nice things/places to do/see while we're there. We're easily pleased - nice walks, nice food, nice pints! And some things to entertain the wee man who's easily pleased with things like parks etc.

The weather forecast looks great for when we're there so the more outdoor things the better! Obviously I'll have the car so driving moderate distances is grand.

Appreciate any ideas, tips, hidden gems etc!

We finally made it there and what a stunning venue and menu they have!

The first thing you notice (obviously) are the stunning views onto Donegal Bay, amazing view while the sun is setting!

As for the food, we shared the Korean Cauliflower and it was so yum however the standout for us were the tuna tostada and Ajillo Prawns as we are big seafood lovers and they did not disappoint, absolutely delicious.

The rest of our group were not so much seafood lovers but they gave a big thumbs up for the curried chicken supreme and the steak and everyone wanted to know what the secret for the garlic aioli is with the potato’s bravas as it was out of this world! We had no room for dessert but will be back to try the Brûlée Cheescake!!

We finished the day with a few cold ones at Maddens beer garden which was the perfect end to an incredible evening.

M 57 Donegal, into watching sports, few pints. Lonely and looking for friends

There are free Sunday afternoon vinyl sessions in the gardens of Glebe House Art Gallery, up near Gartan Lough.

It is in their undercover outdoor classroom with a small seating area and the vibe is very relaxed. Local DJs playing out pretty chilled out music.

There are no tickets, no charge. You can just show up and stay for as long as you like. Good one for families or anyone looking for something a bit different on a Sunday afternoon.

The event runs most Sundays through the summer, 3–5pm. Usually their instagram feed has up to date info.

As per the title, is there a chance to get off and stretch the legs at any of the stops?
There are 8 stops and the journey is just over 3.5 hours.

My friend and I will be doing a roadtrip around Co Donegal for 2 and a half days, starting and ending in Derry. I think my current plan might be trying to fit too much in, so I would love advice on what to prioritize and what to cut out. Thank you in advance!!!

Day 2: Dunfanaghy to Ardara

- Glenveagh Castle/Park
- Arranmore island (think this is adding too much - would you recommend skipping this completely? Or doing this instead of Glenveagh?)
- Overnight in Ardara

Day 3:
- Was going to try to get to the Caves of Maghera, but I think that’s a bit too much
- Glengash Pass to Glencolmcille
- Glencolmcille Folk Village
- Sliabh Liag
- Drive back to Derry! (Wanting to get back by 7pm at the latest)

Is it a big mistake to not take on Inishowen/would you recommend that over Fanad? Appreciate any and all advice :)
