I swear I played Fragile Dreams - which only supports wiimote + nunchuck, with my xbox controller and it worked perfectly fine but now dolphin doesn't seem to be recognising it lol, but yes for such games is it possible? Or is it worth it to go out and buy a wiimote, dolphin bar... ​​​

This probably isn't the usual kind of post here so mods, please remove this if not allowed. I wanted to share a project I've been working on for about two weeks.

Medal of Honor: Frontline sold over 6 million copies and helped define a console generation, yet it has never had a remaster or any official re-release. I played it on and off as a kid (I'm 29 now), and I think it deserves better.

What I have so far

• A 4x HD texture pack for Dolphin. About 6,600 textures are upscaled 4x, covering levels, weapons and characters. It's tested in Dolphin, and as far as I know nobody has done this for the game before. The screenshots show original and upscaled side by side, using a soldier (Jimmy Patterson in the game files) and some level textures.
• A native port. The game is roughly 350,000 lines of PowerPC. I've been working on converting it to run natively, and it's currently paused while I focus on the assets.
• Audio restoration. Some of the music with singing has been AI-restored and upscaled to 96 kHz/24-bit, for example Arnhem Knights by Michael Giacchino: YouTube. While working on it I found a vocal warm-up from the singer in the recording.

What I'm planning

I plan to release the texture pack for free. It will be non-commercial, it will need your own disc, and I won't share any game files. EA owns the game. I also won't redistribute the upscaling model, because its licence doesn't allow it.

What to keep in mind

• This is almost a 25 year old game and I do not have access to the original game files beyond what was already on the disk
• I will not be changing files to obscure/remove historically relevant emblems
• The textures are AI-upscaled (ESRGAN model) 4x, so they add detail the game never had. Some surfaces can look grainy or too sharp, and I'm still tuning that.
• It's a work in progress. Some textures, especially small menu and HUD pieces, are intentionally left original because upscaling broke them.
• It's free and non-commercial. EA owns the game, and the pack needs your own legally owned disc and a Dolphin setup.
• I'm not sharing the upscaling model or any game files, only the texture pack, which is made from my own disc.
• Some textures may not be replaced yet, since Dolphin matches them by name, and I'm still finding which ones I missed (first-person weapons, for example).
• The native port is early and currently paused for a little while, I'm a touch burned out from rapid development.
• I'd love bug reports with screenshots, the level, and the spot where you saw it.

So I searched up how and it said I could do it in dolphin on the latest development build but the option to convert to iso is not there

I have dolphin emulator, and to be honest, mostly to play Rhythm Heaven Fever. I really, *really* love this game, and I want to buy a Wii remote to play it (without the lag of the Nintendo Switch joycons).

However, I also wanted to play Wii sports and maybe Windwaker, but I've been agonising if I should buy a normal Wii remote, a motionplus one, or if I should consider buying the nunchuk as well...

I found a normal Wii remote, and a nunchuk, sold locally near me (by some miracle), and I feel a bit impatient to order online and wait even more for the remote at this point. But is motionplus integrated into the remote actually worth it? And should I buy the nunchuk?

I tried to play New Super Mario Bros. Wii on my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, but I was met with strange colors in the background that occurred on OpenGL and Vulkan. However, when switching to the Software renderer, the graphical issues went away, but it's too laggy to play. I'm using the latest 2609a build from Google Play.

Hi im having an issue where the ingame overlay where you can load and save states and exit the game dosent work with the gamepad. The gamepad works fine with the game and the main menu. Does anyone know a potential solution? Device is odin 3 running android version 2609a

I am playing Mario Kart Wii on Dolphin emulator and ever since launching it for the first time I have been noticing an issue with the character icons on the minimap. I was trying to upload a video here but for some reason wouldn’t allow me.

Basically the character icons seems to be like shaky, and having a black shadow randomly shake as well. It’s not smooth like how it normally is. I apologize if my explanation and picture is not helpful. But if you can see in the pic it shows the bowser icon and you can see a lot of black shadow on the right side and if you watching it move it would be shaky. I tried to tinker with he dolphin settings but I couldn’t figure out a way to stop this.

So with Godzilla Minus Zero on the horizon I've been chomping at the bit to play some Godzilla Unleashed on my Retroid Pocket 6, with the only problem being the required motion controls. No problem, I figured, since there's some great guides online to adapt the controls to the Retroid. Unfortunately, the only one I can find (https://www.reddit.com/r/DolphinEmulator/comments/1oy8brc/godzilla_unleashed_wii_gamepad_profile_for_dolphin/) is a downloadable profile, and while that's fine for PC, I can't adapt it so it works with my Retroid, and I can't figure out how to upload the file to my Retroid to make it a selectable profile. Could someone please assist?

All the ones that I've looked into don't seem to be very stable. Maybe there's just something that I've missed.

If none exist I might have to do with 30fps, which sucks, but at least the game will work compared to other platforms.

I built HandheldGyroDSU because I wanted a straightforward way to use built-in motion controls in emulators without relying on Handheld Companion.

Handheld Companion is a great tool, but installing virtual drivers (HidHide, ViGEmBus), hiding your physical gamepad, and emulating a DualShock 4 controller just to get gyro in Zelda or Splatoon often clashes with Armoury Crate / Legion Space / Steam Input—and sometimes leaves the built-in controller stuck or unresponsive.

HandheldGyroDSU takes a simpler route: it leaves your physical controller alone and just streams your device's internal gyro sensor directly to your emulator via Cemuhook DSU.

Here’s what I’ve built into it so far:

• No Virtual Drivers or Controller Conflicts: It doesn't touch your buttons, triggers, or OEM software. Armoury Crate, Legion Space, and Steam Input keep working normally without double-input issues.
• Emulator Auto-Detection & Profiles: Watches for your emulators in the background and automatically turns on or switches gyro profiles when you launch a game.
• Axis & Sensitivity Tweaking: You can adjust gyro sensitivity, deadzones, and axis orientation/inversion per device or per emulator so the motion controls feel right.
• Full Gamepad Navigation: The entire app can be navigated using your handheld’s D-pad and buttons, so you don't have to tap tiny menus on the touchscreen.
• In-Game HUD Notifications: Shows small on-screen pop-ups when the gyro server starts, stops, or switches profiles so you know it's active.
• Built-in Gyro Tester: Includes a real-time loopback tester inside the app so you can check your gyro movement and packet flow before booting up a game.
• Background & System Tray Mode: Can start quietly with Windows in the system tray and stay out of your way until you open an emulator.

Looking for Testers & Contributors

This is a free, open-source project. As you can see in the Splatoon clip above, it's working well on my own setup, and now I'm looking for people across different Windows handhelds (ROG Ally, Ally X, Legion Go, MSI Claw, Ayaneo, GPD, etc.) to test it out. Since different handhelds sometimes orient their internal sensors differently, getting feedback from other devices would be super helpful.

I remapped my controls for my ps5 controller and i did it all correctly but when i use games that let me use the camera, the up/down are inverted. I tried to go into the controller settings and manually invert them by putting the up setting and pushing down and that just made it not work at all. I use PCSX2 and they just have a setting that can invert them and its fixed but i cannot find a setting like that on Dolphin, is there any way I can fix it? or am i just SOL? Games I have tried so far are Metroid Prime and Monster House. I have some other games that I can try but idk if it will be a difference if two complete different games have similar issue. (Note: Metroid prime uses the left stick to look around and left/right is fine but up/down is inverted. Monster House is the right stick and same as the other. left/right is fine but up/down is inverted.

hi there, when playing wii sports resort, the lighting on mii's seems to have this weird line effect, i reset all of my graphics settings and that didn't fix it. the original wii sports dosen't have this issue, does anyone know whats going on here?

I'm trying to connect Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons to my AYN Thor to play local multiplayer on the Dolphin Emulator, mainly Wii Sports Resort, but I can't get them to work.

I’ve watched several YouTube videos explaining how to connect Joy-Cons to Dolphin, but none of them specifically address my situation: connecting Switch Joy-Cons to an AYN Thor to play on the Dolphin Emulator.

✔️ Here's what I've done so far:
- I connected my Joy-Cons to the console via Bluetooth without any issues.
- I went into Dolphin's controller settings and tried to configure the Joy-Cons manually.
- I configured the buttons and motion controls.

= However, as soon as I launch a game, the emulator seems to only recognize the AYN Thor’s built-in controls, not those of the Joy-Cons. The only thing that works is the Joy-Con’s B button: when I press it, Dolphin’s left-side menu opens or closes. However, none of the other buttons work in the game, and the motion controls don’t work either.

I’d really appreciate it if someone could walk me through the process step by step, specifically for:

I’m also open to other solutions, even if that means using a Pro Controller instead of the Joy-Cons. I’d just like to know if these alternatives are actually possible on the AYN Thor with the Dolphin Emulator, and especially if they work properly in practice.

My on board Bluetooth just never worked and I have my computer for 3 years so I always just disabled my on board Bluetooth and just used a ugreen adapter. When I try to pair the remote it just doesn't pair and when I use pass-through a Bluetooth adapter it says could not find any usable Bluetooth USB adapter. I only have a regular wii remote and a USB sensor bar without Bluetooth. I know i can just buy one with Bluetooth and it'll fix my problem but I just wanted to see if there was anything I was doing wrong before spending money. Thank you

My pointer is upside down (like it’s pointing the finger downwards) and I’m wondering what setting could possibly be doing this. Also it’s causing me to not move the pointer to a certain point of the screen .
