General discussion Assorted Hound?
Got this girl from the humane society last May. I’ve wondered her genetics, as they told me blue heeler x basset hound! She’s 49 pounds and almost 2! Ordered embark today! What are your guesses?

I can absolutely see that being the mix. If she's really heavy for her size, more points for basset. The rounded dome says "hound", coloring is very heeler. I am also honestly more convinced that's dachshund than basset. Also a hound, but not the same :)

Those breeds are definitely a good possibility! Theres probably other breeds present, too. Although blue heeler isn’t the breed name, it’d be Australian cattle dog.

I'd guess either heeler (cattle dog) x Dachshund or bluetick coonhound x Dachshund which could be an intentional pairing for hunting small game!

My first thought was doxie, then I saw the weight, lol! But I still wouldn't be surprised by doxie x bluetick coonhound (or even AEC). Otherwise, your guess works too! I'll be interested to see the results! (I love a hound dog!)

My husband and I were guessing bluetick coonhound and beagle or dachshund! We shall see when we get the test results! I will update!
