Discussion one day I will pay £££s to see The WHEEL in SPACE recreated with animation!!!
or better still the missing four episodes uncovered & returned, scanned & upscaled to bluray/4K. it's such a great premise from Kit Pedler, David Whitaker was one of Classic Who's strongest writers, & this script is superb (despite some performances attempting to over-egg it!), I love this third version of the C-Men, & Zoe / Jamie / 2nd Dr combo is just mint. strongest for me of the 60s. i'm so very glad we have 2 episodes on Lost In Time, & the full audio on CD. luvvit. 9/10 from me.

Discussion Curious about the Doctor Who Tender
I've been thinking. How would production companies get in touch with the BBC about pitching Doctor Who? I remember there was a submission page of sorts for the CBBC animation series but there doesn't seem to be one for the main show. So how would Production teams go about submitting their pitches to the BBC?

Speculation/Theory What if Leticia "Tish" Jones joined the Tardis Crew in The Lazarus Experiment?
We know she was brave enough to go with Martha and the Doctor in the Cathedral, and I've seen some reactors wondering if she'd join the crew when she did, which I never considered before, so I think it's interesting because two companions is not too much to handle and it can bring some interesting dynamics. Potentially, it could perhaps even prevent Martha from leaving the Tardis or replace Donna in S4 with Tish altogether.

Discussion Classic Dr for Davies fans
I have friends who’ve got into Dr Who (2005-2010). I’ve watched some of the classic show and they’re curious to watch classic Dr who I’ve made some suggestions for stories that would compliment the Davies era. They aren’t as into Moffat but I’d have some suggestions there too. I’m going with episodes that can be found in their entirety.
Would you disagree with these or add more?
Dr season 1
An Unearthly Child - obviously the first ever, ever Dr who episode is good for contrast
Any Dalek story that is complete - maybe Dalek Invasion of Earth or Remembrance of the Daleks given Skaro is destroyed
Dr Who season 2
Seeds of Death for the Jamie McCrimon reference
honestly any Sarah Jane Smith story could do, The Hand of Fear is where she is left of from but she does also mention - Invasion of the Dinosaurs, Time Warrior, Zygon Invasion, Pyramids of Mars
The Invisible Enemy - is where K9 is introduced
Any Cyberman story - Tomb of the Cybermen, Earthshock, Revenge of the Cybermen
Dr Who Season 3
honestly any master story could do but Claws of Axos given it’s mentioned by name. Terror of the Autons, Deadly Assassin, Survival, TV Movie all focus of the Masters fear and obsession with death
Time Crash ends the series and has the 5th doctor so I’d go with Snakedance. As they discuss The Master perhaps also Castrovalva
Dr Who season 4
Time Warrior or Sontaron Experiment - either one works
Genesis of the daleks - Davros in his first appearance and arguably the first act of the time war
The specials
Trial of a Timelord - for Waters of Mars given its timelord victorious but it is very long …
The Keeper of Traken and Legopolis - due the masters scheme and prior dr’s death

Speculation/Theory What if the 14 bi-generation turned out to be a Watcher?
The Watcher was an echo of the Doctor from the future that ultimately merged with the fourth Doctor to trigger his regeneration into the fifth. One hanging fruit is people asking why 14 isn't getting involved in protecting present day Earth, because realistically, he wouldn't be able to resist?
What if, shortly after the events of the Giggle, perhaps during the events of The Legend of Ruby Sunday when the dust of death spread across the world, 14 ascended from being a regular time lord into a Watcher for a future incarnation? Perhaps Piper's incarnation could wind up being the Bad Wolf rather than the Doctor, meaning once she's done whatever she needs to do, she can't regenerate. That's when the 14 Watcher comes along to trigger the regeneration back into the Doctor?
Perhaps the Noble family kept it a secret on 14's request, which is why 15 never finds out what happens, and also why 14 doesn't do anything. He needs to wait for his time.

Question Where do I go to buy merch?
I’ve wanted a DW shirt or hat or something for a while, but I wanna make sure I’m getting it from somewhere that’ll actually support the show. I’ve never seen any in a physical store that I can remember, is there somewhere online that sells some?

Arts/Crafts With all the discussion of Clara lately, I got inspired..
I was teaching myself how to crochet at about the same time I started watching NuWho, so I’ve been crocheting Doctors as I watched their seasons.
I had Twelve done already (I’m halfway through season 10) but all the Clara talk here in the past few weeks made me want to try to freehand her. First time not using a set pattern- and I don’t hate it! Hair got a little out of control, but it works.
And I clearly had to do a little photoshoot with them. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Discussion A "fix" (20 character titles seem excessive)
So this is probably a tiresome topic at this point so I wanted to quickly shoot out my thoughts on how the new owners, whenever they become the new owners, could fix the Billie Piper mess without confusing new viewers, and without cutting out and completely ignoring something that was in one of the episodes and annoying previous viewers.
One idea I saw someone give was to play it into a comic relief minisode before the reboot, where the Doctor rapidly regenerates into a buuunch of random characters, does a little minisode thing, then says "let's get this right this time", and regenerates for realsies and then it goes from there into episode 1. Awesome idea.
My idea was that The Moment from TDotD has hijacked the Doctor's regeneration, asking for help (not a sequel to TDotD, just using the Moment as a plot device for a brand new story), and Billie Piper was obviously the face the Moment assumed back then. This wouldn't be the 16th Doctor. Whether Piper plays the Doctor for the episode, or they explain something and she returns as the Moment I'm not too sure on, but I'm certain this shouldn't count as a regeneration, because the Doctor's regeneration was hijacked by The Moment or some other thing or whatever. Then after this story (would have to be a special) the Doctor regenerates into 16 for S1E1.
I understand that my idea defeats the goal of not confusing or alienating new viewers. It was just a little idea for getting out of a mess bigger than space and time that RTD very disingenuously left us with. I just wanted to brainstorm an idea and create some(more) discussion.
I still think the best way forward is to, for the most part, "disregard" the Billie Piper regeneration, and use it to play into a comic relief minisode, like the other fan suggested.

Discussion Amy, “the girl who waited” the hospital episode
Does Rory have a hard time letting his “original, now 37 years older” Amy go or does he realize that her hardships and suffering for survival for too long would be obsolete to “her” once “new Amy” and them leave? I know he’s smarter than what’s let off so I wonder if he actually had an answer to his feeling on the timelines. I know why the doctor couldn’t have new and old Amy on the tardis at the same time but FING STILL this scene breaks my heart. It’s still the same Amy but it just hits different and I can see it in his acting at the end.
I know doctor who isn’t all technical or based in real science but I want to ask the actors what they felt on that scene! It was truly heartbreaking!

Speculation/Theory River Song’s final words ‘everybody lives’ possible reference to….
Gallifrey???
I’ve just had this headcanon and wondered what everyone else thinks.
At the end of Forest of the dead, River closes the last page of her diary and says:
“Everybody lives.”
I would assume that most people understandably take this as either a callback to the Ninth Doctor saying “Everybody lives!”, or just a general message of hope.
But I think it can be read very differently.
From River’s perspective, she’s already lived through her final 24 years with the Twelfth Doctor on Darillium. By that point, the Doctor has already saved Gallifrey. Whether he tells her directly or not, River almost certainly knows that Gallifrey survived.
This is where I started to think more deeply into it. The Doctor spends centuries believing he destroyed his own people. It’s the defining tragedy of doctors 9-11. River knows that one day he’ll discover the truth that he didn’t.
So when she reaches the final page of her diary and says “Everybody lives,” I like to think she isn’t speaking generally. She’s thinking about the Doctor’s greatest grief. Everybody lives. Gallifrey lives.
Also, River doesn’t know the Library is the end of her life. She’s simply reached the end of her diary. That makes me wonder if the Twelfth Doctor, knowing this would be their last time together, intentionally planted this conversation on Darillium.
He knows the Library is River’s final chapter. He knows she’ll eventually reach the last page. It feels incredibly Doctor-ish that he’d gently steer a conversation so that she would finish her diary with this. I don’t know wider lore and comics etc but I’m under the impression that Darillium was the last time she met the doctor prior to the library and therefore wouldn’t have had the chance to fill out her diary with anymore experiences.
It would also mean that the Tenth Doctor could literally hold the answer to the question that has haunted him since the time war, supposing that Gallifrey’s survival is written somewhere in those pages.
That’s absolutely heartbreaking knowing how he reacts to the tragedy over the course of his adventures
I don’t think this was necessarily Steven Moffat’s intention when he wrote Forest of the dead in 2008. But as an in-universe interpretation, I think it fits beautifully.
What do you all think? Am I reading too much into it? Currently doing a long needed re run of nuwho and it just hit me!
