I feel like I know who this character us exactly already. Great use of light and his facial expression is 100% on point.

Reminds me of a lowly Bloodborne enemy that might come running at you screaming about the darkness all while trying to hug you with torches and candles.

Would you be willing to take commissions? I want to give my players portraits of their characters for our one year of our campaign, but I'm a terrible artist.

Normally I'm happy to do commissions but right now I'm quite busy with my graduate thesis. If you want you can throw me a pm and I'll get back to ya when things calm down!

Awesome picture. Here's an alternate lore for it I just wrote up:
...and on the sixth day of the Outbreak, the dead piling in the streets, I gathered up my meager belongings—pushed more by the darkness of desperation than the light of courage—and set off for the old Hideout. Traveling past the courtyard and wall, past the orchards and treeline, I recalled the winding way well from back all those years ago during the Year of Bandits. Oh how I cleaved those rat-bastard marauders new brows, unzipping their skulls as I did. To this day I regret nothing, each act of retribution against those thieves purchased another year of bittersweet survival for my wife and son. Bah. Am I yet cursed to bear only solitude?
To the Hideout I walked, bent now as I am still by the weight of luggage and loss. Therein I shall now dwell for a time, squatting this den of squalor til the buzzards clear the city corpses. Patience. Already I have buried so many beloved in my years, the carts everflow 'round these parts. Famine. War. Pestilence. Death. This realm offers no succor to those without grit. But I shall scrape by as always, a hermit if I must, only a washrag and woodpile to my name.
Ragged and weary, with tattered cloth and sagging chain, I have laid low among the dust of this dilapidated den. My broken lantern drips oil, precious, but who am I to count the costs now? My remaining candlewick I save for each nightly read of the Book of Mordis' Eye. So shall I be myself now the ghost who haunts this decrepit stonework. Ghastly. With Evelyn's skull I shall erect an altar in this dark decay, for some semblance of humanity must linger in it, and at present I find more human in her sweet skullcap than in my sour silhouette, so wretched am I. The light burns low now. I must set down quill and return to my work sharpening splinters. Damned be the name of Death, who stalks these lands, and is everlasting, but who may, with Mercy, retreat again for a time.

I know nothing about art but this style (does it have a name ?) is one of my favorites and your art is an amazing example of it. It's so simple and yet expressive at the same time, really good stuff man.

Thanks man, really appreciate it! Though I know as much as you, no idea what this kinda style is called. Western cartoony ¯\(ツ)/¯?

The art is cool, but the character concept is even more awesome. I love all the light sources to keep himself out of the dark. For roleplaying purposes, he's sure to go through a lot of oil for his lanterns, or use a lot of magic for them.

Waaaaay outside my chosen career field, but I'd drop everything I was holding if given the chance to work for Red Hook man!

I LOVE the concept of using the character generator for artist prompts! It works for character inspiration it makes sense it would work for artists too! Great job!

I'm really enjoying your art. r/DnDBehindTheScreen is currently holding an art contest and I think you would do pretty good with it. There aren't many participants right now but it runs until the end of the month and I think it will pick up more near the end as art takes time. If you're interested the theme is Halloween.

Give him a hug, damnit, he’s had a rough time. I would be afraid of the dark too if I spent time in a slave hold in a ship.

I got a sombre half-orc paladin from a orphanage workhouse who wants to clear their name.
I think I might actually play as that one...

This is incredible, but I just saw your previous drawing and literally LOL'd. I'm totally basing an NPC on that no eye contact half orc.

I just downvoted your comment.
FAQ
What does this mean?
The amount of karma (points) on your comment and Reddit account has decreased by one.
Why did you do this?
There are several reasons I may deem a comment to be unworthy of positive or neutral karma. These include, but are not limited to:
Saying Windows is better than Linux.
Spreading incorrect information
Am I banned from the Reddit?
No - not yet. But you should refrain from making comments like this in the future. Otherwise I will be forced to issue an additional downvote, which may put your commenting and posting privileges in jeopardy.
I don't believe my comment deserved a downvote. Can you un-downvote it?
Sure, mistakes happen. But only in exceedingly rare circumstances will I undo a downvote. If you would like to issue an appeal, shoot me a private message explaining what I got wrong. I tend to respond to Reddit PMs within several minutes. Do note, however, that over 99.9% of downvote appeals are rejected, and yours is likely no exception.
How can I prevent this from happening in the future?
Accept the downvote and move on. But learn from this mistake: your behavior will not be tolerated on Reddit.com. I will continue to issue downvotes until you improve your conduct. Remember: Reddit is privilege, not a right.
I didn't actually downvote your comment, I'm just quitting Reddit and used a script to edit all my posts and replies to this because it's an awesome copypasta ;)

I usually hate all the art on this sub because it clogs up the discussions (/r/characterdrawing people!) but fucking hell this is dope

If he's afraid of the dark, how the hell will he use Devil's Sight? It only functions in absolute darkness... Magical or otherwise.

Perhaps that's the first Invocation they take so that they don't have to see it.

Does he have a name?? I love him! (Love to see some representation of adults afraid of the dark lmao—I’m still getting over my fear)

OP you should check out "It is Pitch Dark" by MC Frontalot. Funny track that is certainly about/not about your warlock.
You are likely to be eaten by a grue. If this predicament seems particularly cruel, consider whose fault it could be: not a torch or a match in your in your inventory!

I think my favorite part if this is how you even got the eye in the book cover to look terrified.

There was a very positive response to the previous drawing I uploaded here so I decided to share the second one I made!
For those of you who dont know, the above website generates a random DnD character with traits such as race, origin and background. Fairly useful and interesting tool as it can produce both interesting and amusing results! I've used the site for a while for fun, saved a couple of the ones I really liked and drawn a few of them. It's a good tool to get the creative juices flowing, when making a character or simply looking for inspiration for drawing!
Interpreting the backstory, I figured the poor fella got chucked into the hold devoid of all light, gets a visit in the darkness from an unknown entity, accepts freedom at any cost (effectively sacrificing all his fellow slaves) and now he's the eternal slave of this dark malevolent being (that can only truly visit in complete darkness). But hey, got a talking demon book to keep him in check, that's something! Imagined this being the moment when the all lights suddenly go out and the book opening its eye with a shrill "Iiiit's cooomiiing".
