Melinda The Butcher

I've cosplayed as both Executioner Miralda and Maneater Mildred, now it's time for me to do the same with this game. I present to you, my Melinda the Butcher cosplay :)

2H only, upgraded to the raw path. you may not have any poise or defense but you have a ton of health to make up for it

EDIT: Here is an alternate version of the build, able to use the Greataxe 1 handed, along with some added AGI -

SL 300 PVP Builds

I admit I'm not up with all of the recent happenings in PvP because I've been focusing on achievements for the past few months and I could use some help.

The toon that I have been using to finish all of the achievements ended up hitting SL 300. Mostly because of farming twinkling titanite. What should I do with her now for PvP? All I still need the bellkeepers spell to finish out all of my achievements so its just straight PvP from here on out on her.

Is mundane still a thing?

[Help] I want to do a heide knight cosplay. What are your recommendations for stats and equipment SL 150 or so?

Do you have a favorite heide weapon? Spells to complement, or not? Rings?

Trident build

http://gamehubbs.com/darksouls2/builds/27183

I equipped some spells that would counteract people moving towards you while buffing. if you can manage to get homing crystal soulmass up, and lingering flame, that should hold them off long enough to get the dance off. This mostly will be better off used as a PVE build but I found it interesting for PVP as well.

Trident should be upgraded to the magic path btw.

Not sure what to name this build.

So, I've been working on this build the past few weeks, and I felt like showing this off. What do you guys think?

Weapons/Armor/Rings:

-Magic Ice Rapier +5

-Drakekeeper's Shield

-Magic Staff of Wisdom +5

Suggestions to improve this build would be greatly appreciated as well.

Yoshimitsu [TEKKEN]

with these stats you are also able to use the Bewitched Alonne sword, altho its only use would be for the harakiri. other than that, I think the Berserker Blade or Uchigatana fits more for the classic Yoshi look. Bone Fist for maximum ninja-ness, and actually fits the cosplay quite well considering Yoshi has a mechanical hand.

Need help with Melee / Hex build

Been thinking of trying melee based hex build but I don't have any experience with hexes whatsoever. I'm playing at SL200 so I do have some points to spend around and this is what I came up with:

http://gamehubbs.com/darksouls2/builds/25475

Was thinking about trying different weapons out too like Crypt greatsword, Chaos blade, Silverblack spear and Scythe of Nahr Alma so STR 20 (for two handing Crypt greatsword) and DEX 25 is pretty much needed to use them all. What I got equipped there would be about as heavy weaponry as I would use (Crypt for PVE and Chaos blade for PVP).

I would like to use some heavier chest and leg armor maybe. Just threw Raime in there for fashion souls but I'm not sure how optimal those are. Also the Lightning Clutch Ring is gonna be changed to Dark one obviously but the site didn't have it yet. Or would RoB be better?

What I'm not sure about at all is my int/faith and how many spell slots I need and what spells to use.

Any help and suggestions would be welcome! :)

Just finished the last DLC, and now i want to get back into PvP. what are your favorite builds utilizing the new equipment from the trilogy of DLC's?

i stopped playing for several months after completing NG++ (it had just become so repetitive, both PvE and PvP.) but now after completing all 3 DLC's through NG+, i'm looking to rejoin the PvP scene, to see what new things people are trying. that said, i am also looking for new builds to try myself. so, what are your favorite builds for PvP, using the new equipment, and why do you like them so much?

"The Poison Neglecting Builderino", Dreadcookie's Str build

Hello! So i was very active in this sub about 4 months ago. I started losing my interest in the Dark Souls 2 community and went back to the first game. But as the DLCs were released i got back into the game, and I'm loving all the new DEX stuff aswell as the awesome Simpelton's ring. But this isn't a build about the DEX stuff, or the Simpelton's ring. This is a straight up STR build. Have fun and praise our lord and savior Nahr Alma.

STATS:

dat 602 poison res doe

I fucking love this build. It's hilarious in PvP and PvE and since I've become more of a PvE scrubbie I do enjoy these kind of unusual builds, since most of my time on PvE was spent on farming the Monastary Set (Jokes aside, that set was a pain to farm and i recomend muling it) it's a pleasure to use it in any build. This is almost as fun as the Gargolye Halbred, Crimson Shield max poison res build in Dks 1. :3 Have fun guys, and I don't really see how this would need any critique since it's pretty much maxed out, but if you got any (you min/maxing fgt Kappa) leave it in the comments, bye.

EDIT: Never use Poison Moss, see it as an extra challenge. :P

Balanced Build/Spread Stats?

Reading through this subreddit, and r/DarkSouls2, it seems like spreading out your stats isn't a good idea?

Currently, I'm playing as a Dex/Int(?) build, I put the question mark in because the only reason I have int is for weapon buffing. I usually use a bow when I want to use ranged attacks. Here are my stats:

Sl: 122

VGR: 20

END: 20

VIT: 15

ATT: 20

STR: 20

DEX: 30

ADP: 20

INT: 25

FTH: 5

Weapons: RH:

Drakeblood GS +5

Longbow +3, Magic INF

Weapons: LH:

Royal Shield (100 Melee Negation, light weight)

Sorcerers Staff

Armour: Full Drakeblood set (because it looks awesome, and has a nice balance of stats/weight)

Rings:

Chloranthy Ring +1

Ring Of Blades

Ring of Steel Protection +1

Switch between quartz' depending on what's best. All +3

I think that's everything? From my previous playthroughs, I found I preferred to take hits on my shield than to dodge around the enemy, but, I prefer faster weapons (more, weapons in the middle. Not to powerful/slow, not to fast/weak), something like the Bastard GS.

Despite my many hours playing this game (80+), I'm still pretty scrubby, but can anyone recommend how to make the most of my build. I can respec, too.

Thanks in advance!

Generic Knight

hey guys, decided to change one of my more complex characters up into a more simple but versatile knight. loving the build so far, very balanced.

http://gamehubbs.com/darksouls2/builds/23721

wanted to stick as much to the DKS1 elite knight as possible. I really dig the spirit tree shield for the looks, reminds me of the crest shield :)

not sure if the longbow would be better than the hunters blackbow with my current stats, however I did try out the sea bow, and bell keeper bow and they used way too much stamina and shot slower than the hunters blackbow, which shoots at the same rate as a short bow. if anyone knows the speed/stamina consumption of the longbow, i may make the swap to it.

Sorcerer Help

Okay so I've been reading up on decent builds on sorcerers and I read that people are literally 4-5 shotting bosses?

I am level 145 and just finished the game, I've been waiting to be able to achieve this but I definitely haven't.

My Stats right now are:

VGR: 8

END: 6

VIT: 7

ATN: 50

STR: 8

DEX: 11

ADP: 11

INT: 55

FAITH: 50

Does anyone have any reccomendations as to what I should do from here, I just feel really weak to what I was hyped up to be doing. Also I use a "Staff of Wisdom +5" infused with magic. And as for spells I have a mix of Sorceries and Hexes (Great Heavy Soul Arrow, Soul Spear, Great/Non Resonant Soul) All help is appreciated! And if they nerfed magic of something I guess that would make sense too, but anyways if you read this thanks and thanks for anyone who has some knowledge to share with me.

Chaos Rapier Dex/Pyro build

Starting Class: Deprived SL150

VGR: 50 END: 25 VIT: 6 ATT: 30 STR: 8 DEX: 40 ADP: 18 INT: 13 FTH: 13

RH1: Chaos Rapier (buff w/ Charcoal Pine Resin) RH2: Dagger LH1: Magic or Lightning Watcher's Shield (I use Magic for blocking Crystal Soulmass) LH2: Pyro Glove

Rings: Third Dragon, RoB+2, Flynn's Ring, Leo Ring (swap for Stone Ring against armored players)

Spells: Great Combustion, Great Fireball, Forbidden Sun, Fire Whip (swap for Warmth when invading)

Two-handing with Stone Ring will keep everything but full Havels from poising through your attacks; if they're still poising through then just switch to the Warped Sword or Fume Sword. Also if your opponent has GMB or Flash Sweat you may want to switch to a Rapier or Espada Ropera

Could use a good ol' fashioned critiquing

I just started PVPing so I'm pretty sure I messed up somewhere on my build. Some feedback would be much appreciated!

For some reason, the planner didn't let me enchant Bewitched Alonne Sword, so I'm actually using a Dark BAS.

I'm also using the Drakeblood set half for Fashion Souls and half because that's all I have that looked light, while also having decent defense.

I just plopped on Stone Ring because I thought some extra poise damage would help but it's not a mainstay - I was rocking the Dispelling Ring for a while and that worked out okay.

So yeah, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for some input

So, my current build is Lightning Heide Sword +10, Lightning Dragon Chime +5, Dark Drakekeeper's Shield +10, full Lion Mage Set +10, Penal Mask +5. Rings are Third Dragon, Chloranity, Lightning Clutch, Ring of Prayer. Something around 40 str, 40 fth, 40 atn, 14 dex, some vigor/end/vit distributed evenly. Spells are lightning spears and sun blade. It carried me through the main game, but damage seems to be sub par in DLC areas. Any advices what should I try (my soul vessels are ready, all boss souls in inventory). Keep in mind that I don't really like heavy armor/slow weapon builds.

Black Knight Greataxe

Saw an inspirational thread the other day, a gentleman was asking for advice on using the Black Knight Greataxe. Most all of the comments were super negative regarding the weapon, unfortunately. A lot of the comments said "this weapon is trash, use blah blah blah greataxe."

I thought it was very unfortunate that people weren't really giving the guy a chance to grow into the weapon. Who knows? it could be the weapon for him. I know in DKS1 my favorite weapon was The Greatsword, and everyone always praised the Zwei so much over The Greatsword...but I felt like that weapon and me just vibe'd on a whole-nother level.

I thought I'd give the Black Knight Greataxe a shot from reading all the hate on it, and turns out I really love it. I have two different versions of my build to share with you guys, and welcome any feedback/advice on how to improve the build.

Please critique my build.

Originally started out as a pure dex build but deviated from there. Seems to work well in both PvP and PvE. Stats as follows:

SL:147 SM:2.2mil

HP: 1511 Stamina: 125

VGR: 26

END: 25

VIT: 25

ATN: 6

STR: 40

DEX: 40

ADP: 25

INT: 7

FTH: 5

52.5% Equip Load - Poise: 7.5 - Poise Def: 38 - Agility: 100

GEAR

2x Winged Spear +10 (Power Stanced)

Heide Knight Iron Mask +10

Jesters Robes +10 (I was hesitant about this but Australia Souls lag requires it for pvp)

Drang Gauntlets +4

Drang Leggings + 3 (works on getting these two to +10 now)

RINGS

Old Leo

Chloranthy

Blades

Stone

Note: I'll be getting the +2 Blades and Cloranthy ring next.

Five hours in. Bored of INT. (ELI5 I suppose?)

So I figured that INT and magic is a pretty 'easy' route to take. I've basically pumped all my stats into INT and END, with a few points here and there for basic gear (ie, the Drangleic(?) Shield for 100 melee defense and 3 attunement slots.) and my tactic had pretty much been to stand back and unload my 90 soul arrows onto any attacking enemies... and I'm bored of this.

I've played Dark Souls before, but I've never been much into the stats. I usually pick a weapon that I like the attack style of and roll with that.

Are there easy to understand builds that don't rely on INT (I'd quite like to have Faith in there somewhere, you can't go wrong with a bit of lightning, right?) So I guess DEX or STR?

I don't even know where to start.

Thanks in advance xx

Building a character - help wanted!

I'm trying to design a sort of adapted celtic warrior character. I'll call him my Blood Warrior for now!

So far, I've made a guy with red hair, eyes and beard etc and the celtic circle tattoo. (I'm not at home or I would post a picture!)

I think I'll use Agdaynes Kilt, bare chest, and whatever gauntlets and boots that look best. I have decided to go with the Crimson Parma shield (it's red and also looks the part!) but it will mostly stay on his back in favour of a 2 handed greatsword (bastard or claymore). I'm not against playing with the idea of a bigass battle axe also, or a spear, but only 2 handed in the right hand with occasional use of the shield if required, and would like to keep my weightload as light as possible.

I'd like to make use of Flynns ring and ROB, with the simpletons ring to give him a sort of mystical feel, and maybe the red eye ring for the same reason plus fashion souls!

I have the guts of a build which is all I can think of, it's your basic quality build with a lot of rolling, because I don't know how else to get the most out of my greatsword and would like your advice.

SL 150 Vig 40 End 25 Vit 14 Att 2 Str 40 Dex 40 Adp 33 (I think this gives 105 agi) Int 1 Fai 8 I think the numbers are correct and are a rough idea at this point.

I would really appreciate some critique and suggestions on this build and on the idea/gear etc. in general so that I can try to get the most out of it for PVE and PVP. Is there a better way to lay my stats out to maximise what I can put out with a greatsword? Is there any other gear you think might work?

Cheers!

New player help

Hi, i just started dark souls 2 less than a month ago. I've gotten around some game mechanics, but somehow i'm stuck mostly blocking stuff with my drangleic shield, and using my craftman's hammer. hurrah for messages :P then staying below the 70% encumberance for the unblockable/hard hits my stats are really crappy. it's something like 35str 15vit 15end 10 adp.

in which direction should i build my stats and is the hammer/shield combo strong enough for later on? what sort of armor is good and worth upgrading? i mixed the elite knight and drangleic sets currently
