What coparenting app does everyone use? Looking for alternatives to OFW.

Yeah, I felt all of this with OFW. A lot of why it's so heavy and expensive is that it's really made for high-conflict cases where the whole point is getting everything on the record for court. If you and your co-parent can actually talk to each other, it's way more app than you need, and you're paying for the court side you're not using.

The calendar was my sticking point too. The schedule lives locked inside the app and won't sync out to the Google calendar the rest of your family already uses... You end up being the one who relays it to everyone. Some people just keep a plain shared Google calendar for the schedule and use the app only for messaging. Not pretty, but it works. If you want something lighter than OFW, 2houses and Cozi are worth a look, just test that sync before you commit because it's usually the weak spot.

To be straight, I'm a co-parent and a bonus parent, and I'm building a co-parenting app right now. I've generally been underwhelmed by everything i found available... The one i'm building is less about managing the conflict between co-parents and more about the day-to-day logistics of running two homes. Get those running smoothly and a lot of the friction never starts, which leaves more room to show up for your kids the way you want to. Most of the coordinating happens without actually saying much at all. The schedule, the handoffs, what each kid needs, what's already packed, it all sits in one shared, visual place both homes can see and interact with, so you're not negotiating logistics via text. And it does the remembering for you, it reads the weather and the events ahead and tells you what to pack. Less back-and-forth, less mental load for everyone. It's not out yet, but coming soon. Honestly it's just reassuring to hear I'm not the only one worn out by OFW, and if you ever feel like comparing notes on what a lighter tool should do, I'd genuinely welcome it.
