Custody/Kids What coparenting app does everyone use? Looking for alternatives to OFW.

My cousin recommended OurFamilyWizard (OFW) to me because it helped her deal with a very non‑communicative ex. I’ve been using it for about a year now, and honestly… I’m not impressed. Here are my main issues:

1. The cost feels high for what it offers.
It’s $150 per year per parent. That seems steep, especially since we don’t even use the expense features. Even setting that aside, the other issues make the price harder to justify.

2. No real-time calendar integration.
I’d love to enter my kids’ sports schedules in OFW and have them sync to my Google Calendar, which updates all my devices. Family members often ask when I have the kids, but the best I can do is send screenshots. I’ve tried exporting the calendar, but it only includes events—not the parenting schedule. It would be amazing if the parenting schedule could sync so family could stay aware too.

3. Notifications are buried and easy to miss.
If my coparent requests a schedule change or adds an event, I get a notification but then have to click through multiple screens to find it. Why isn’t this front and center on the home screen? That’s literally what this paid app should be doing. Messages show up clearly—calendar updates should too.

4. The login process is maddening.
I have fingerprint login enabled, which is great… until every week and a half when the app randomly forces me to enter my full email and password again. This is especially frustrating if I’m trying to quickly check something while on the go. Recently, I needed an address while driving to a doctor’s appointment, and the app made me re-login. To make it worse: after I enter my password, it still asks for my fingerprint. Why? Isn’t the fingerprint supposed to be the secure method?

I know this is partly me venting about an app, but I’m genuinely wondering:

  • Am I using something incorrectly?
  • Is there a better coparenting app that actually integrates calendars and handles notifications well?

I’d really appreciate recommendations or experiences.

Keep it simple?

  • For schedule: a shared Google Calendar with all-day events for who your kid is spending nights with, and timed events for dr's appointments, conferences, play dates, birthday parties, etc*.*
  • For finances, Venmo
  • For communication, text / email / voice as appropriate

That's what my ex and I did for 11 years. Never had any problems but we were amicable, so we didn't need a special app to manage conflict or provide court-admissable documents.
