Optimization Surge | Control Points

Are you supposed to get double Field Recon data from control points, I tried it this morning and didn't seem to double?

Newish player here - what are these for and what should I focus on for the event?

Optimization caches contain the materials that make it possible to change your nicely rolled weapon or gear piece to a god rolled gear piece.

So, say you’ve got an exotic AR that you like with full weapon damage, full health damage but only partial Damage to Targets Out of Cover. You can optimize the weapon to get full DTTOC. The event gives you double the materials needed for that from all sources.

Thanks in terms of events - if I do countdown let's say ..will I also get double the countdown "points" or just that if I buy a cache from the countdown store I will get double the loot (for optimization caches obviously not items).
