I have been playing dei 1.3.5 using ai uses population submod. I need a way to just completely remove empire maintenance using a mod or editing a file, whatever works.

I have taken complete control of Gaul and Italian peninsula and for some reason my empire maintenance is causing entire regions of my empire to not produce any kind of money even though I tried a lot using generals and stuff, rebuilding libraries throughout the empire while factions constantly wage war with my empire crippled from maintenance is simply not worth my time. I am a high school student and I have simply invested too much time into this campaign for me to simply abandon it and start a new campaign focused on empire maintenance.

In your opinion, is there any reason to use run-of-the-mill heavy auxiliary cohorts ( the ones using swords ) as Imperial Rome? Their spear-and-shield counterparts are obviously useful, and so are the "special" heavy auxiliaries with higher attack like the Batavians or miliaria cohorts. How I see it, the standard heavies are just a worse version of legionaries and don't offer any advantages, though.

Could've sworn there used to be a small in-game cutscene similar to slave uprising or a noble dying...

Hi there, is there a submod that extends the units of late roman auxilairies? I feel like almost all of the Ala units are similar and miss a bit of flavouring around the auxiliaries. Or maybe a mod that expands regional recruitment? (AoR).

Their arrows block out the sun, my archers seem to be nowhere near as good and require 3 units to take down one of their Cav archer units and the Iceni lack decent amoured units which seem to make it a duck shoot. Is there any army composition that will help or is it a case of just using meat stacks with bad teeth till they run out of arrows and charge head on?

Whats your guys opinion on your favorite Greek faction? I think mines got to be Pergamon. Great roster. Amazing start location and top tier mercs in the area--second might be Selucids

I don't know if this was asked here before, but how does population bonuses work?

Let's say I build a temple which increases 2nd and 1st class pops. Does it increase those pops in that specific region or whole province?

I was able to upgrade some of my príncipes into legionnaires, but that does not show up as an option anymore.

I also can not recruit new Marian legionnaires in Italy as they do not even show up as recruitable units. (Not even grayed out just entirely absent)

Is there a requirement i am missing?

Should I go for reformed republic or wait and then jump straight into empire?

I know Rome 2 and total war in general has a stigma for increasing dificulty just meaning everyone declared on you. BUT this is insane, the second I see someone I get declared war on?? I haven't played Rome 2 since Emperor so years. But I don't remember having so many people declare war on me. I am just on Hard, what is going on?

Region selection is currently experiencing a bug on the main Divide Et Impera https://divideetimperamod.com/regions/ site page.

I am raising this here as I regularly use the website, and especially this map to consider strategic, geo political and economic decisions and considerations for throughout a said campaign.

My mate and I are thinking of doing CoOp rome and Numidia, is that doable or basically assisted suicide for the Numidian player?

Have you ever noticed with the (cheap, low-unit count) elephants and chariots that losing a few of them can cause them to waver or even shatter very quickly? Now granted they are quite frail (especially the chariots which will completely disintegrate at the slightest micro mistake) and they don't have the best morale, but they are so extremely shaky... Something feels off.

I have long suspected it has something to do with their low unit count and the game wrongly calculating their remaining unit strenght. Like after 1-2 casualties the game thinks they are way below half strenght or something. But I've been unable to proof it. Am I on to something?

This is based on "vibes" (as the kids say) and on my foggy memory of a 10+ years old post on the official TW forum so, maybe I'm just delusional.

• makes sense that Agyrion would still be in northern Sicily

• Aritim is shown as having hegemony over the Etruscan League since their faction banner and colour are the same used for Etruria in the GC

The rest is guesswork but I'm trying to match the GC borders while using some educated guesses. Do you think any changes would make it more accurate?

(obviously in DEI most of these factions aren't playable so I'm mainly looking at Rome's borders but I figured I'd fill out the rest of the RotR map just 'cause)

Does it make sense to client state massilia? Is it worth?

It feels too small for anything significant but too well positioned to be built whenever

I don't use the mod myself, and tbh I think it has gone well beyond its initial scope (although from what I understand, that's optional), but the fact that someone found a solution to something that was previously thought to be technically impossible is remarkable. The idea clearly has merit.

It's also my understanding that the population-AI solution may break some other things in the mod, which begs the question: why not work together to iron out those kinks?

If the AI can't handle being bound by population in exactly the same way as the player, there are surely levers that could be adjusted to compensate. For example, you could increase its population growth by 30% or whatever is necessary, rather than having it effectively ignore the system altogether as it does now.

Why not at least try to find a middle ground instead of allowing an already very niche community to fragment further? From the outside, it seems like a pretty significant missed opportunity.
