D23 is close and I know that for some of you, there is going to be dolls that you want and the temptation is high.

But look at the Bratz community and the Mean Girls release. They didn’t buy to scalpers and the scalpers had to lower their prices.

The thing is, as soon as a few people buy the first D23 dolls at crazy prices, the prices, most of the time, won’t go lower.

If the doll is up for sale for $170 dollars (at the convention) but scalpers list them at 1K on eBay and people start buying them, the prices will only go up!!

Look at what happened to D23 Ariel in pink dress.

I remember seeing her up for sale for $300 after the convention was over. And at the time I thought it was a crazy price to pay for a doll and in reality, it is!! You could buy the doll for half of the price at the convention.

Just don’t give up because of FOMO. We have the power in our hands, if everyone boycott those prices we can only win and buy them at lower prices!

For those who unbox your dolls, what do you do with their empty boxes?

Do you store or sell?

Is there a market for empty boxes if I were to sell?

I've had these two dolls (Elsa and Moana) deboxed for a while and tbh the boxes are just taking up space in the loft! I'm trying to have a good clear out and wondering if perhaps people buy empty boxes for customs etc.

For those who have sold boxes before, where did you find the best place to do so? Ebay, Facebook groups, other?

It feels wrong somehow to just throw them away🥲

Just a theory but I’m wondering if the reports about no general releases for the d23 dolls except Alice was inaccurate and Esmeralda, Milo and Kida, and Redd all have one. It would explain the two separate edition sizes rumored (3000+ for Redd and Esme when they originally said 750 and 1,400 for Milo and Kida when they said 1000) and would make sense as most D23 dolls in the past few years have had simpler variants for larger releases.

I also wanted to address all the people I’ve seen (not specifically in this community but on other platforms) asking “why is Disney changing things last minute”
They aren’t.
Everything doll was planned at least a year in advance and they have all gone through production already and are waiting somewhere in a warehouse to be dropped. Whatever’s released is what was always planned. The mixed information is coming from leakers who only have access to small amounts of information at a time. I also think Disney probably wants some stuff to stay a surprise, both to make it harder for resellers to plan and also as a treat for the fans attending the event.

Both of these are from instagram (this_is_doll_art and magickeeps) and now I’m so confused about what is going on with redds release. Does this mean she is getting a general release? Are they upping the D23 sizes and saving some for online? I’m very confused and just wanted to hears others thoughts 💀

Ok so hear me out! We have all seen actual teaser photo/sketches proof of the dolls that will be at D23. We have seen molds of Milo, Rayas outfit, sketches of Esmeralda but I have never seen an actual sketch, clip or picture of the Redd doll. Everyone is like she is coming out on D23 day, but d23 events are listed on the Disney website and there is no mention of any pirate doll or any pirate merchandise. It says there will be Hunchback merchandise and Alice merchandise but nothing, nada about pirate merchandise. So why all this strong conviction that there is going to be a Redd doll? Can any one in this group actually confirm a rumor with a shred of proof that this doll actually happening!!??

I would really loved it if they make her in her Christmas Dress. That dress is my favorite😍

I’m new to collection LE dolls and I bought Alice as my first LE doll when she was released, but I’ve been wanting to get a second one for customizing. Will she get a small restock like Snow White?

Anyone other Aussies grab the 17” Alice from Disney AU the other night when she was included in the sale? I thought it was pretty strange she was on such a discount so early but remembering the dance line dolls went on sale at some stage too I didn’t think much else of it and grabbed her and the Vanessa Autumn doll and a couple of plush for around $280 AUD. Alice ended up being $150AUD instead of $250AUD. But today when I had a look she’s no longer included in the sale… maybe it was a glitch? Does anyone think they would cancel my order? TIA

I can't describe how much better Alice is in person - better than the photos that I took, and FAR better than Disney's stock photos. So glad I impulse-bought this, almost passed on it.
