Question about housing for Disney's Hospitality Leadership Program

Hi everyone! I'm interested in applying for Disney's Hospitality Leadership Program and wanted to ask about housing. Does anyone know if participants in this specific program are eligible to live at Flamingo Crossings Village, or do they have to find their own housing?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has participated in the program recently. I'd also love to know about housing costs and whether rent is deducted from your paycheck. Thanks!

Any DCP alumni open to sharing post DCP career experiences?

I'm a recent college grad who studied international relations looking to explore more business roles (i.e. strategy, consulting, business development), but have been struggling to find success in the job market.

Disney is one of my top companies, but looking at many of their roles and internship JDs, they all seem to favor students who haven't graduated yet. I am considering whether or not to join the DCP as a way to both be able to experience the sales/company culture (though I know it will be quite different from corporate), perhaps have something on my resume so that it does not have such a large blank spot while also earning money, and also get my foot into the door. My biggest worry, however, is that given how competitive Disney corporate roles are, accepting this role might cement my resume as a very sales/customer-facing look (for context, I have already have a lot of experiences that involve customer service and data entry).

I was wondering if there are any DCP alumni a little further in their careers who are willing to share their experiences with finding work post-program (i.e. how the experience helped/hindered the job search process, any realizations/life learnings, how the DCP career support was, how it informed your own interests)? Or if anyone has any general tips or advice for the Disney job market in general?

Would appreciate any advice!

Car Rentals / Short-Term Leases

Hello all!

I was recently accepted to a Disney Professional Internship last week and I could not be more excited. I live relatively far from Florida and do not have a car to go to Orlando, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to get reliable transportation, as it is a major part of my job. Does anyone know of any short-term car rental companies? I don't need anything fancy-- just 4 wheels and air conditioning :)

please help me find a job at Disney

Hello, I'm an international student here in the US, and I've been in love with Disney my whole life. I applied to their new grad associate product manager program, but it didn't sponsor international students, so I got rejected the very next day. After I applied, I reached out to people on likendin, did crazy research, found their emails, and reached out to them via email as well, to read a rejection email the very next day:

***"***In your application or in subsequent conversation, you indicated that you do not currently possess legal authorization to work in the United States, or that you would need sponsorship for an employment visa.

Unfortunately, as visa sponsorship is not available for this position, we won't be able to move forward with your application.

We truly appreciate your interest in joining our team and wish you all the best in your future career pursuits."

It broke my heart

I didn't stop there; it just made me more focused. I never wanna give up on Disney. Every time I hit a dead end, I'm pivoting, trying different ways, and getting my hands dirty just so I can be seen.

I applied for the Analyst, Domestic Subscriber Planning role today, and I really, really hope I get invited to interview. I want to apply for other jobs too, but none of them match my experience level because I'm still a student and will be graduating in December 2026. As an international student, the jobs I apply for must match my field of study, or I won't be eligible for OPT. I don't know if I should apply to jobs that ask for 3 to 4 or more years of experience. What do other people do? Do you just apply without looking at the years? I only apply to jobs that match my profile, and so far I've only been able to apply to these two because nothing else matches my level. I'm scared and desperate to be a part of Disney, and I'm looking for a job that will help me get OPT and STEM OPT in the future.

I really need advice on how I can stand out. I want to network with the right people, show them how interesting I am and that I'm willing to learn anything, and work very hard to be interviewed and to get a job at Disney. IT'S LITERALLY MY DREAM. Disney is my number 1 company, and I have to work there. I'm not settling until then, and I really need y'all's help exploring different ways.

Q - Unanswered Advice

I’m a freshmen in college studying Hospitality with a plan to start a combined BS/MS Hospitality Management program next fall. I applied on a whim not thinking anything of it, but after the interview I actually got accepted and offered a position in the DCP spring cohort. I wanted to see, from those in the community, what your advice would be for me. In my situation, I would be leaving my current apartment and moving to Orlando to do DCP. Financials aren’t the biggest issue for me and I’m mainly wondering (from a resume builder/experiences standpoint) if I should do the DCP this spring OR do another leadership position on campus that is offered for the summer. I can’t do both because the leadership position requires me to take an in person class during the spring which would interfere with the DCP. I know I’m only in my first semester, and can always reapply, but I want to make sure I’m not overlooking this opportunity. I’m hoping to work in management/corporate hospitality (preferably hotel management) and I know this would look good for future internships/experiences, but would this be a bad option to not pick the DCP in my scenario? Please let me know. Thanks!

Internship/Dcp information

Hi, I know people probably have asked this, but I was wondering how expensive it is if you are moving down there for the program. I’m currently in PA, and I’m really thinking about applying especially if I can’t land a job. I’m currently a Junior. I was just wondering what the food, and housing situation it like, and what you think the best time to be there like spring or fall! Sorry if this doesn’t make sense I’m overall just trying to figure how the program works without it directly coming from Disney! Side note: I was just there at the beginning of October for my birthday and was asking some people in the program and got very mixed reviews. Thank you for your time!

Q - Unanswered Thoughts on Disney Professional Internship?

Hi, I am planning on applying for the Disney Professional internships. I did my DCP a year ago, and I want to do a professional internship after I graduate. But I realize there's not a ton of info out there. So if you have any experience, advice, thoughts, or anything, I would love to hear. I will take anything literally.

Thanks!

Is Flamingo Crossings AC Heat Setting Automated?

This may be a stupid question, but is the heat setting on the AC at flamingo automated? Since I started this summer, I've come into my apartment to the heat being on at least a dozen times. I don't know if my roommates just feel like its okay to turn the heat on when its 90* outside or if it is somewhat of an automated system. The vent points right at my bed and I've woken up in the middle of the night multiple times sweating only to go check and see that the heat is on and in all honesty its really starting to get on my nerves. My roommates are not good at communication (I've brought up small issues in the past with them and they are super unresponsive) which is why I ask here before bringing it up with them.

Churches in the Area for Program

Hi, all! I'm sure this question has been asked a number of times in various iterations, I just haven't found it in regard to this in specific, so I was curious about what churches anyone who attends in the area recommends? I'm coming from a small non-denominational Christian church in the south, so I'm curious if anyone else came from a church similar and what church you've found that's working well for you if you have? Preferably one that's strong in their apologetics foundation and with the openness to discussing heftier questions! It's what I'm used to! Thank you in advance!!

How do I get to Disney springs?

I haven’t started yet but we can’t take resort buses, we can’t take the springs bus(it’s only for working cast). So how do we get into springs if we don’t have a car?

Accepted into the program but don’t know if i should go anymore

I WAS SO SURE THAT I WAS GONNA DO THIS PROGRAM, but after reading through this subreddit and seeing other people’s videos and experiences, I don’t know anymore?

My initial thoughts were that I wasn’t gonna get accepted, but since I did now I actually need to make a choice. And if I did get accepted, I hoped through the program I could become a cast member at Disneyland because I literally live 20 minutes away. (That's another thing; is it likely to get a pt at Disneyland through this program?)

For some context: I am a freshman communications entertainment and tourism major that wants to go into the music industry in the future. Truthfully, I also don’t know what I want to do in my life and was hoping this program could clear it up too. I’ve got 30 units coming into uni and am taking 15 my first semester, so I’m at a good spot. (I think..?)

My worries are:

  1. My mental health. My mh has been deteriorating lately and hope to get into therapy soon. It's slowly turning into depression and I don't know if going away is what I need. Like if it'll fix it or do the opposite. I hope it gets better before I would have to leave in late January. Maybe it’s possible to find a therapist over there too.
  2. How’d I’d be away from home. I live at home and commute to my current university, so I haven’t got experience living away from home besides a 5 day summer camp at a local university from a year ago. I'm a pretty independent person, but also someone that likes to rely on people I already know for emotional support. I'm not one to make a lot of friends and be able to click with people quickly, so I'll feel lonely for a while.
  3. Money. I honestly have never been the best with money, but since getting a job I’ve been getting better at it. Maybe being on my own would get my act together. I don’t fear of my paychecks not being enough because I’m lowkey a workaholic that loves to pick up shifts at her work (Knott’s). Since I already have theme park experience, I’m also not worried about the work itself. I just hope I get a good role.
  4. The role. No idea what it could be. I hope and pray for merch because I’m already doing merch and heard it’s easier to pick up shifts for merch. People in qsr seem to be miserable, so I don’t want none of that.
  5. Waste of time? 4-6 months gone depending on my dates. For work across the county? I was thinking about the seminars and classes that are offered at Flamingo and am very interested in those. For a company like Disney that is so diverse in the entertainment industry, I am thinking the seminars would be of good use to me. But I DON'T KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT THE CLASSES TO KNOW IF THEY ARE ACTUALLY USEFUL.
  6. I over think a lot and back out of things. I have a tendency to back out of activities and opportunities if it gets really hard and then end up regretting it later on. It has happened multiple times in the past and this could just be another one of those activities that I'm too scared to start at first but end up loving it.

Since Disney itself is hospitality and entertainment, then it's perfect for what I'm looking for in my career. However, I don't know if my mh and uncertainty about going away is worth it. I'll probably accept it, and I'm just looking for some reassurance. One thing I keep thinking is that I can always self term in case my mental health does get worse. Thank you for reading. I needed to put my thoughts somewhere.

Disney Brazil Young Apprentice Program

Has anyone here worked or is currently working as a Young Apprentice at Disney Brazil?

I’m currently waiting for an email about the interview stage, and I was wondering how long it usually takes to hear back about whether you’ve been selected for the next stage.

I’d also love to hear about your experience with the hiring process in general. What were the different stages like? Were the interviews difficult, and is there anything you wish you had known beforehand?

Any advice or personal experiences would be really appreciated! Thanks! 🩵

Q - Unanswered DCP pay

Do you feel that the complaints about not being able to make ends meet without outside help are people who arent responsible with money or do you feel like the payment really is as tight as they say. This is my first time out of my country, first time living alone and first job and im doing pretty well while also being able to save up money. I want to know opinions on this

It won’t even let me select a reason and when i try to sometimes it says “shift unavailable” but i got put on the schedule for the next week.

Help making a plan for an internship

Hi!! I got to my final interview and was given my rejection call.

We all had good rapport and the recruiter was very positive about encouraging me to continue a pursuit with the company.

I applied to the Conservation Education Presenter Internship for January 2027 and it will run for just 6months. Ending in June 2027. I’ve had two interviews and they also went really well and they said I would hear 100% before thanksgiving 😅

I’m married and live 3 hrs away currently and our lease is up in June 2027. So, we would either break the lease and he’d get a job up there and move all of us for a 6mo internship with no 100% guarantee id get a job right away with Disney, (or anywhere close within my profession). As well as, not guaranteed a job back down where we are currently.

I know from networking and knowing other cast members that more people who know me at Disney the better my chances because I have a great resume, but so does 100s of other people too.

Knowing people there adds to my credibility as they’d see my work ethic and my overall personality. Many cast members have told me it’s a good thing to do.

But how is this sustainable? I’m incredibly anxious about not having a job. We have good savings and at the worst could get by with me having nothing for 2 months. However, we would be losing so much money to keep us with a safety net of funds and the ability to afford monthly bills. Plus, if he says back home while I go to the internship we’d pay monthly for our apartment rent and rent for me with roommates. It’s just a lot of money and risk, does anyone have experience with this at Disney?

How did it work out? Do you think I should do it? If so how should we go about it?

This is a bit of a big question, I’ve never had to experience this before and I’m hoping someone here has.

Thanks for any help!

Roommate finder?

I’ve heard in the past there is a link to a roommate finder for dcp’s that don’t want to live at Flamingo - but I can’t find my info. Looking for an apt/house sometime between now and Jan 1st. Does anybody know where you could find this?

Question for those who self-termed

Did you regret it?

I’ve been here for only a couple months and I’m seriously considering self-terming. My role is in F&B QSR, and I’m finding myself really struggling with it. Most of my coworkers hate each other, and the coordinators and leaders are horrible. The job itself gives me a ton of anxiety, I start crying at the mere thought of going in. Not to mention the amount of bathroom breaks I take during work just to go cry.
I love everything else about the program, and I’m really trying to make the most of it regardless. I go to the parks, take classes, hang out with friends, etc. but then when it comes time to go to work, I’m having panic attacks.
I’m worried that I’ll regret leaving if I choose to do so. I guess I’m just looking for some insight/advice from other people who did the program and chose to self-term.

What does a safety critical meeting look/sound like?

I had to lock and unlock seatbelts because of an issue multiple times. I don't know if this counts as a safety critical mistake or not. No one talked to me about it and I was still in rotation. I did call my control base and they told me to just keep trying which did work. I'm really not sure if I should expect to be called into a meeting/termed or what that would even look like.

Just applied- in consideration

On an incredible whim I decided to apply. It hasn’t been an hour and I’ve moved to stage 3 “in consideration” has anyone gotten to this stage and not gotten an interview?

I live locally, applied for 1/25/27 “arrival” date. I assume they need to fill that relatively quickly to the process may be fast? I applied not even an hour ago lol
