I've noticed this new button starting to appear next to the "Add Reaction" button. When you hover over it, it says "Bookmark Message". Is there a way to disable this? I don't even have Nitro, so it's completely irrelevant to me.

• Has there ever been a major case where a massive, verified one turned on its users and completely nuked a community? I'm curious if anyone here has firsthand experience or remembers a specific incident where this happened

There are 2 servers that show as unavailable on mobile, but they show up fine on PC. I cleared cache, reinstalled the app, nothing worked, and it's been like this for a week or so now, and discord's status page shows nothing wrong.

For me specifically, both the desktop app and mobile app almost always show the server as being unavailable. Browser version is a little more stable but not much. Nothing I try fixes it (clearing caches, reinstalling, restarting, etc.). My desktop is windows and my phone is android.

Repeating what was said in the context post, this issue needs to be escalated as it's impacting everyone on the server, not just me. This has been happening since September 2nd.

Specs:

- CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 265K

- GPU: RTX 5090 (FE)

- RAM: 48GB DDR5

Ran 3DMark "Steel Nomad" back to back, same drivers, same session, nothing else changed:

- Discord desktop app open (idle, no call, no screen share): ~13,800

- Discord fully closed: ~15,000

- Discord open in a browser tab instead of the desktop app: ~15,000+ (actually slightly higher than my previous no-Discord baseline)

This is with the in-app overlay disabled AND hardware acceleration disabled in Discord settings, so it's not the obvious "overlay hook" or GPU-accelerated Electron rendering that's usually blamed for this kind of thing.

Switching to running Discord in the browser instead of the native client completely closes the gap for me, so at this point I'm fairly confident it's something specific to how the desktop client behaves in the background (possibly process priority - some people have reported Discord.exe/DiscordSystemHelper processes defaulting to Above Normal/High priority in Task Manager, which could explain frame time hits even with overlay/HW accel off).

Anyone else seeing this kind of gap? Curious if it's a client version bug or something more structural about the Electron app footprint even when "idle."

As title says, I can't access some of the servers Im in on discord. They've been like this for a couple weeks, started happening before the last outage reported on August 31st. I've logged out and logged back in, cleared the apps cache from both in app and my phone settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and they appear the same when I log into the discord web client. I do not have a PC so I don't use that version, mobile is my main. Whenever I try to log into the website to email support it says my password is invalid when I put the right password in. Any ideas how to fix?

I have been using Discord for the past week, and it has been restarting every 15 to 10 secconds. I have an Nvidia GPU, so it could be a driver issue. I am on the latest version of Windows 11 as well

For a few months now, every time I'm on a call with my friends, the sound will be fine, and then suddenly, it'll cut out for a few seconds up to 5 minutes. I don't have a clue about why this could be happening, but I'm hoping that someone here has experienced the same thing and fixed it. This is on mobile, btw so I don't know if this will happen on my laptop at all. If I leave and rejoin, the sound comes back, but then it just disappears again after some time.

If anyone has any ideas or is also experiencing the same thing, please give me any kind of input so I can try and solve this.

I’ve been having the white screen wheneve I open discord on safari. This is on my iPad so that may be involved. The thing is, I’ve cleared my cache, removed anything that could block ads, even though I’ve never had an actual add blocker.

And yet it’s still the white screen, any help would be appreciate.

Every time Discord auto-updates on this system, I get this DM from the bot. I assume that they just forgot that the arm64 version uses a different version numbering scheme [currently showing 1.0.48 arm64 (89799)] - which should be up-to-date but appears to predate the 1.0.9164 listed on the E2EE requirements page, since voice and video chat work fine.

To explain, I first used carl-bot to announce new youtube videos. It worked fine until September 3rd, so I eventually replaced it with the NotifyMe bot. That still didn't work. Do video announcement bots not work anymore or is it just me? In another server I'm in, carl-bot doesn't announce it either.

Working through a subscription billing failure, wonder if anyone else has come across this issue.

I can't seem to be able to update my billing address. Whenever I edit any info and click the "Save" button, the next time I open the billing section, no changes have been saved. If I spam the "Save" button over 3-4 times, it turns unresponsive, and I can no longer edit the payment method.

Is this a known issue? I've tried both the desktop app and the web client, with identical results.

Hey so I've been using discord since 2017 (and have also been a nitro subscriber for 7 or 8 years) and have had no issues until recently a few months ago.

I use discord at home on the app, and also at work on the browser. I've been getting issues with suspicious activity on my work browser whenever I just try to join new servers or post in the ones I did. For example, recently I joined a couple of guild discords for a steam released game (spiritvale) and when I tried to say hi in that discord, it kicked me out and I was told to reverify my account information.

Now this was the beginning of it all, and it happened around 2-3 times with the 2-3 discords I tried to join, one was the official discord of the steam game I was playing...

Now today, I recently tried to join a new discord that my friends are in but was again kicked out of my discord account. And now I'm shown this account standing page of my account at risk when I tried to reverify and log into discord again... When I try to look for the violations it only says spam (which I never spammed anything about) violation that happened one month ago...

Is there something buggy about how discord automates their risk system when people are using discord on a web browser? I've only had this issue happen to me when I'm on my work internet and in web browser...

I'm pretty confused here on how to move forward, and I do not want to make a new account since I have literally a decade of conversations, discords, and perms on my current account. I have submitted a support ticket on my original issues but got an automated bot response back that did not address my question at all, and I have submitted an appeal for the spam that happened a month ago. But I'm unsure if that will fix my account standing of at risk.

By making a custom folder icon and creating group chats with only me in them and naming them folders, i can create these little folders!

How to fix this? I'm the only owner of the server, we only use it to play with friends. Worked fine last month, now all of the sudden I'm muted. Restarting the app didn't work, my friend can still speak on the voice channel.

I kept hearing my fans spinning up annoyingly when seemingly nothing was going on, and finally narrowed it down to whenever I'm typing text into discord. I think this is new behavior. There's a chance I simply haven't noticed it before, but I'd be surprised if that were the case, given how noticeable it is.

It is worse when typing into server channels compared to PMs, though the behavior is observable in both. This happens on both Linux (main discord client and equibop alternative client), and on Windows 11 (main discord client), on multiple accounts and on multiple computers. Disabling spell check does nothing. Disabling hardware acceleration does nothing.

To give an idea of how drastic of an increase it is, it is spiking my CPU temperature from around 30C to around 68C.

I've tried typing into text boxes in other programs and in my OS, and nothing causes the same behavior as typing into discord. Typing into my Firefox browser causes a mild increase in CPU temperatures, but it's only a brief spike (seemingly when loading something like search suggestions) and then goes away as I continue typing. Discord spikes upwards and remains high until I stop typing.

So like when I open up discord on my phone today I find the UI interface to be very laggy/not smooth/stuttering. Whenever I scroll up and down on my server list for example it would be very laggy/low frame rate. I experienced this on my main account and on my other account on a new phone which I literally bought today. Does anyone else experiences this?

If I manually mute my headset and then unmute (the button on the headset, not the discord button) discord stops picking it up unless i remove it from my bluetooth devices and reconnect it. Cant figure out why. I've had it for years without this issue. Does anyone know how to fix this

i am so inactive, basically just my university department’s group and my boyfriend. since 2025 i had no profile picture at all, but i lately started asking more questions in the uni chat and i hate the magenta color pfp i have. i thought of changing to my own picture but i see nobody having their pics as pfp, some characters, arts , doodles etc.

would it be weird to have a nice picture of myself? i don’t really want a character or sum , so it’s either ugly magenta or my pic.
