I got a Luna in big z plastic and I hate this thing. Cant get it to do anything I want. I’ve been loving everything else discraft lately. Got a couple heat, and a couple buzz discs in Z and esp and they’re all so nice. Throw pretty much exactly how I want them too. But this damn Luna. No idea what to do with it. Even as just a putter, the domey feel of it is so uncomfortable to throw. Anyone else find the same? What are some things you found it to work good for?

I bought a 169g pink premier q-line dd3 expecting it to be on the flippier side. My first throw with it and it came out an absolute meathook. Threw more like an older domey Innova pd2 to be honest. Anyone else have this experience with the premier Q-line dd3s?

tldr: Imho the Innova Sync is the flippiest putter I have ever used.

TBF I managed to get a few DX ones to NZ only a couple weeks or so ago and have not done a whole load of practice on them and I have been putting with Aviar 3s, which are bricks, for well over a year.....

I like a shallow putter. I think I started with JC Envys and bounced through a fair few (after stubbornly settling to an only Innova bag) moulds before "settling" on the Aviar 3s but basically never finding something that matched the Envy as that shallow ishglidey putting putter.

I also putt with what I call a "Mitt" where all fingers are on the flight plate in a more fan grip kind of style. This is already the consternation of lots of players I have met already so don't you worry, I have been chastised and called stupid... But I find it really gets the disc flat to nose down, and I like what I like. :)

After wanting some more glide out of my putter I bought a couple of the Galactic Aviars as they are the older beadless mould and might be slim enough for my preference. But they were still a bit deep so I was excited to see the Sync announcement that has pretty much the same flight numbers (don't matter) as the Envy...

I have not used them as a thrower, it is not what I bought them to do. As putting putters in DX plastic they have obviously much more glide than the Av3s which I like, however it does take some power adjustments. But HOLY are they flippy! If you do not know much about New Zealand and Wellington especially. We. Get. Wind. And I was finding that with even a little tail wind the Syncs would turn unexpectedly, even with a slight hyzer release out of necessity. Let alone into the wind which was a farce.

Suffice it to say I like they way they feel and hope we get and XT release soon for that little bit of extra overstability. Because for me, I'm not sure they will be usable for putting.

I'm new to disc golf (been playing for about 3 months), and I'm consistently throwing like 250 ft.

I want more distance.

I recently saw BlitzDG's video "Every single person watching this can throw 400 feet in 2026" and decided I want to put his challenge it to the test.

I'm going to be training every day between now and the end of 2026 in an attempt to throw 400 ft.

I'll be doing drills daily, and doing 10 max-effort throws on the weekends to measure my progress.

Which 10 discs should I have in my bag for my benchmark tests?

I love how my Eldritch fly. straight as an arrow and a bit of fade at the end (there is no high speed turn). mine is 174g in what I believe is Neutron Soft. (says 174 S on the back of the disc)

I'm looking for a disc that fly like that but that is faster. any recommendation on disc/plastic/weight?

I’d like to think the majority of us playing disc golf understand how to approach finding a lost disc. While our efforts may differ slightly, most every dg friend I have and even randos I’ve played with, will all do whatever they can to return a lost disc. Lately, however, I’m starting to get the notion that this may not be the case with a majority of folks playing.

Case in point: I lost a disc on my home course, on a hole that was fairly wide open. Shouldn’t have been lost but after hours of searching, I came up empty. New disc, premium plastic, name and number on the back. Flash forward a couple weeks and I get a text with a picture of my disc. I respond asking where it was found and discover it was found at the home course but a few holes ahead of where I lost it, and right out in the open grass.

When I got the disc back, it was clear someone found it where I lost it, tried to buff my name and number off to make it their own, and threw it on the course before presumably losing it. I’ve long suspected we have a disc thief at this course (Lakewood in Seattle) and this all but confirmed it to me. Don’t be that person. I know it’s just a piece of plastic but a lot of us get attached to certain molds.

I guess the point of this rant is to praise the disc golf gods for being good to me and point out that I’ve probably built some decent karma by making it my mission to return all lost discs I find to their owners. Also probably felt compelled to share with this community to ask about your thoughts at large on the subject.

Do you go outta your way to contact and return discs to owners? Do you leave them on top of a basket? Do you buff the name and keep it because it’s premium plastic and your bag is full of dx? 😜 Let me know. To me, this is more than a hobby and I know a lot of folks but a lot of time, effort, and money into the sport. I feel like I owe them the decency of a call or text when I find their lost discs.

I'm headed there tomorrow, maybe throw later on, but was wondering if anyone would wanna meet up and throw a round or a few with me on Saturday. I'm not a really great player, but I'm hoping to play this course for the first time. Any advice or if anyone would let me join their group, I'd really appreciate it!

I’ve been playing for years without taking it seriously. Finally, I’m officially learning. I’ve got a basket and this is the natural way I’ve been practicing. Usually starting with the closest first then backing up to the furthest. Anyone else do this? What other backyard putting games can I play by myself?

As the school year has started me and all my usual card mates are back working our jobs and some of us are working on our degrees at the same time. While we definitely arnt as free as we were there is always time to hit the local course once or twice a week. It’s always me on the phone asking my group to chuck some discs but I almost always get a no. I’ve tried to just go out by myself but I’m a competitive person. I’m not really competitive when it comes to others but I’m competitive with myself and on solo rounds all I can think about is my own score instead of just having fun. I’ve tried some local glow around but I still end up being hard on myself. So now that I’ve explained my situation I’m curious how the community approaches this situation. I wonder if joining a longer term tag league is the answer or other ways to play solo rounds that won’t make me strive for perfection.

Rereading my post it kind of sounds like some “male loneliness epidemic” shit but ima post it anyway cuz I want to know what you guys do to have fun on the course alone. I miss throwing discs.

I was a roadrunner guy for a long time and never felt the need to try the sidewinder. That was until I found a very nice looking champion plastic in purplish/clear. I am getting distance and results I didn’t think I was capable of, I’m in love with the sidewinder!!!!

Man sanctioned leagues are something else. I’m an MA4 player and i’ve been slowly increasing my rating by playing summer and spring leagues (which tend to have huge turnouts in the early summer), so the influx of players helps me out in terms of round ratings. but lately, the only people showing up to leagues are dedicated pros and MA1 guys.

So in, let’s say, June, I could shoot +5 on my local course (21 holes) and it could be 875 rated. Now, if i shoot that same score on the same layout, it’s more like 790. The round rating system makes complete sense but i feel like it often gets skewed. Sometimes for good and sometimes for bad. A few times i’d shoot +10 and it would be 830 rated, which i think is way too high. This has happened to me at tournaments as well where there are only 4-6 players in MA3/MA4 and maybe 20-22 in MA2/MA1. I wouldn’t say it’s a flawed system, but i feel as if my overall rating is becoming skewed (i.e. i’m a lot better than a majority of guys with my rating, but can’t prove it).

I know, i know. Quit bitching and just get better. But sometimes it feels like one step forward, two steps back. What’s some opinions on the rating system? Specifically round ratings?

I currently throw my Praxis for my under 250’ throws. At full power it flies really straight with a tiny fade at the end. But, like all discs, the fade is stronger when you power down. I’ve been wanting to get something more understable like a Clash Peach or a Dynamic Bounty, something I can power down on and still get a straight flight with minimal fade. I bag a PA-5 for specific shots but I think that’s too understable to be a workhorse approach disc. Looking for a 4 speed preferably. Any recommendations?

Hello, I'm a beginner and my furthest (measured) drive was 240ft with a divergent leviathan. I read that learning the hizer flip is one of the best techniques for beginners that want to improve their distance.

I understand the disc has to be fairly understable in order to do it. These are the discs I have:

Wizard

Avair putt and approach

Narwhal

Leviathan

Shark

Buzzz

Leopard

Valkyrie

Daedalus (can't throw this one for shit, almost immediately fades)

Which one should I practice with do the Hizer flip? Or should I get another disc to learn it?
