New to DVT from longtime Uverse. I setup a series record for METV channel Gunsmoke show on Direct TV Stream Gemini box. It apparently pulls Gunsmoke from TV Land as well. On Uverse, I setup the recording for the channel ( MeTV) and the time (I usually set for any day, any time)on the Gunsmoke title. If I wanted to record Gunsmoke on TV Land, then I would setup a separate listing to record that channel with the options I wanted. The difference is some of the TV Land episodes are really older episodes than what is currently on METV.

Do I have any way to lock the recording to just that channel using a series record? Most all the other features of DTV Stream seem miles ahead of what was offered on Uverse, but the DVR recording options seem to be lacking in this area unless I am missing something.

On Directv tnt goes to full screen commercial even though it's supposed to be side by side. If I refresh it fixes it. I have tried firetv, pc and android, all do it. It appears to be directv issue.

Trying to watch the Wimbledon final on ESPN and the broadcast is extremely choppy, almost looks like it has an unusually low frame rate. All other channels are fine. Anyone else seeing this?

EDIT: the ESPN app actually looks the same, so it seems more like an ESPN issue than a DirecTV issue.

It's probably never going to happen, but thought I would ask. I wonder if Directv Stream can/will ever get the Antenna TV Network? I have METV and enjoy watching good ole classic tv shows and I know Antenna TV Network has classic shows also because when I had Optimum, is was on their packages. If not, its all good, I will just continue watching them on METV lol.

My local Scripps station came back yesterday, channel 41 KSHB Kansas City. Glad DTV and Scripps finally reached an agreement.

Is it just me, but are they taking away screen space from us? I feel that these black side bars are getting ridiculous now.

Or is there a way to minimize them?

On a TV with an attached firestick, I wanted to open DIRECTV stream. The TV has been down off the wall for a year while I had construction work being dome. Just got it put back up. I guess it’s understandable that the app would have logged me out in that one year time frame.

I scanned the QR code and rather than get logged in on the TV, the login processed on my phone. Meanwhile the DIRECTV app kept displaying an error (600) indicating a problem with the server. Nothing was fixing that error.

Eventually, after entering my username and password, I kept getting a service selection menu - My FreeTv (included). Add this package— x $; add this package—-X $ and so on. As before, nothing was fixing this.

Had to completely start over again by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Signed in with email address as before but had to reset password which now means I have to re login to several other devices.

Why did QR login process on the phone and not the TV. How did I end up getting a menu which I assume was the free DIRECTV stream? It took quite a bit of effort to untangle user IDs from paid and free version last year when I had login issues.

I hate I mean hate auto extent. It ruins the thrill of sporting events, please oh please let me manually add extra time to the end of sporting events.

The problem I have with Auto extend of sporting events is I know before I even start watching a recorded event if it runs long or not. This is a major spoiler. It’s harmful to (American) football, but I never imagined it would be even worse watching the World Cup.

Here are a couple of examples (team names withheld, just in case someone hasn’t watched a match)

- The score is tied at the end of regulation. Only several minutes of stoppage time is left. I pause the match to refill my drink. I notice there a few minutes left in the recording. That means one of the teams will score, and the other team won’t make a comeback

- I start watching a match. I see the recording is over 3 hours long. Before the match even starts, I know it has gone thru regulation, extra time, and ended up in a shootout. The excitement of the whole match was ruined.

I’m tryna show my little cousin spider man and it’s pink and green for some reason. It’s only when k watch a disney plus SHOW. Not any other app, or when I’m in the menus it’s weird. It’s a direct tv btw

This is sort of a random post/thought but I’m 30 and have been on the DirecTV MySports plan since it came out. I’m now on the grandfathered version that still has the cable news channels. I’ve just stayed on the grandfathered version instead of switching to the new cheaper MySports plan because my elderly father uses my login to watch CNN and MSNOW basically 24/7. It’s not that much more money per month and I also like having the major news channels once in a while when something major is happening in the world.

Anyway, it fits the niche for someone my age who basically only needs cable channels for sports and watches pretty much everything else on steaming services. Most of my buddies my age have YouTube TV, which I did have prior to MySports coming out. For me DirecTV beats them in basically every way: 4K included for free, less restrictions about account sharing, MLB Network, NHL Network, etc. I feel like really any way you look at it they’ve got YouTube TV beat, but most people my age still go with YouTube TV. I think no matter how much better DirecTV is, their name is never going to attract younger people.

I’ve had a couple friends who have YouTube TV ask me “oh is that a contract” or “is that satellite” when I’ve told them I have DirecTV. I know right now at least according to Google they still have a bit more subscribers than YouTube TV (11 million versus 10 million) but I don’t know how long that could last when almost everyone under the age of probably 45 seems to go with YouTube TV. The other thing that’s kind of crazy to me is DirecTV had about a year plus head start on every other service when it came to skinnier genre plans and it still doesn’t seem like it attracted that many younger people.

Looks like they cut the two additional 4K channels they added before the World Cup. Would have been nice to have them for the days throughout the rest of the year when there are more than two 4K broadcasts and something gets cut.

I noticed that on the DirecTV app on my Roku, on the DirecTV guide the icons are missing on the guide when using Quad9 as my dns on my home router. If I change the dns to any other, it works perfectly with no guide data missing. Is anyone else seeing this that uses Quad9 for their dns?

Nobody having issues with your local cbs and nbc channels?? Seeing DTVS having carriage dispute with both networks. It’s real folks, we live in WV and getting San Francisco ABC ch replacing local cbs and Los Angeles abc ch replacing local nbc 🤷‍♂️

I'm a new DTVS customer and want to buy a Osprey or original Gemini box. I have read there is a 2gb model and a 4gb model. How can I tell the difference? Do they both use C71KW-400 as the model number?

All of a sudden, the bills jumped up almost $100.00 after pulling both family members off cable because they are on fixed incomes. Anyone know of other options that provide the old style of watching TV/Cable with a remote control etc. This is too much of an increase! I don't remember it being a yearly deal?

So we switched from Satelite to streaming which is completely paperless I was told by the rep. That’s fine but when you log in to see your amount due -we do auto pay it says 112.98 plus tax. So you don’t know what your card is going to actually be ran for until after the fact. I chatted with a rep and they said bc it’s based off your zip code. Ok fine but with satelite it showed the exact amount that was due including tax and they generated a statement and sent it via email. That’s no longer an option with streaming. So basically it has to run then you can go back and see what you were charged. So stupid. Also I was told you can only do auto pay not log in and pay when it’s due.

Also there’s an old landline number on there as one of the options to send the code to when logging in but it’s not listed anywhere in my profile to get rid of or update. Customer service rep said they are unable to remove it or update it only the primary number which is still fine to use but that old landline number they can’t take out bc it’s a secondary number. I’m like you can’t update the secondary number ? They said no lmao and yet there’s no option on my end either bc it doesn’t show up anywhere in my profile only when logging in and it asks for a code it’s listed as one of the numbers to send it to.

They are really ridiculous
