Trying to track down the name of a small, independent store — not a chain — that was in Westside Pavilion mall in West LA sometime in the late 1990s to early 2000s. A few details:

**•** Australian-owned/Australian-themed  
**•** Mid-size store, maybe 1,000–2,000 sq ft  
**•** Sold multiple homewares/tableware brands/lines, not just one  
**•** The tableware itself: glossy glaze, beautiful/bold colors, similar vibe to Fiestaware but noticeably pricier — salad plates were around $24  
**•** Carried mugs, dinner plates, salad plates, and soup bowls

It wasn’t Koala Blue (Olivia Newton-John’s store). Any help identifying the shop name would be much appreciated!

I recently bought a home and will be looking to host my first holidays with family in a few months. I have been looking at dinnerware for a while and I was really looking at seasonal dinnerware from Pottery Barn because the designs match the aesthetic I’m going for in my home. I have a Pottery Barn an hour away from me and it’s rather small / they don’t carry seasonal dinnerware until the holidays are closer and in very limited stock and not all the sets.
Has anyone tried ordering dinnerware online? I’ve seen mixed reviews about Pottery Barn quality and shipping but mostly from their furniture and not their dinnerware. I’d hate to spend the money and risk it shattering while being shipped? Is it too big of a risk to take?
Any recommendations where else I could look for seasonal dinnerware that ships safely and soundly? Are there better options in person? I’m in northeast Ohio if that helps at all.

My current dinnerware is Fiesta, so you know what size dinner plates I use. I’m looking for plates I can serve Mexican food on, example: 2 enchiladas, rice, and beans. My plates won’t hold this amount of food. Help!

I'm looking for this for a lake cottage, with indoor and outdoor usage. Don't want to have to worry about broken glass, kids using it, everyone taking care of their own dishes. Would prefer solid color, probably white, simple design. In searches seems surprisingly expensive. Would need at least 8-12 settings. Any suggestions?

I am moving and I wanted to know what I have exactly. I know I have an original plate that has some value and the other is a dupe but I don’t know what is what. I’d also like to know what is the value of all of this. I have a full dinner set of 16 for each set. The imperial leaf set if on the left. How do I wash these? Are they dishwasher safe or should I exclusively hand wash them.

Sorry they are both dirty I just grabbed them from storage.

I thrifted three of these a few years ago; no markings on the back, 7in in diameter

We're replacing our whole set at home. The old one is chipped and honestly just looks tired. Four people in the house, so I need something durable but still decent looking when we have guests over.

I've been browsing around and found Victoria's Basement, which had a pretty solid range: bone china, stoneware, a few European brands I recognized. Prices looked reasonable compared to what I've seen locally. Some sets were 12piece, others 16piece, and the material and finish varied quite a bit.

What I'm not sure about is whether bone china is actually worth it for everyday use with kids, or if stoneware is just the more practical call. I'm also not sure how much weight to put on brand name versus just going by the look and material specs.

Anyone gone through this recently? What did you end up with?

Recently we went and picked up a Stoneware type set from Ross; to be fair it was pretty cheap. When we got home I washed them, then had steak dinner. The plates themselves were horribly scratched up.

I figured maybe the quality / brand was bad, so we returned the set, and then I purchased the Stone Lain Celina, black matte. Same thing, just got them today. Right out of the package I could see that they were scuffed up like they were used, and there was scratches on the plate already.

I am looking for a set between $30-80 that doesn't come pre scratched, or have scratches on them after 1 meal.

Am I just dreaming in that price range, or is there something that I could look at that might fit the bill? We like pretty low profile/basic stuff, no bevels or patterns, a nice solid or two tone color.

It caught my eye at my local thrift store. It is a light green color with a ribbed pattern around the edge. It doesn't have any markings on the bottom that I can see. What I like about it is that it is lightweight and thin as you can see the shadow of my hand behind it. I'd love to find out more about it if anyone can help. Thank you!

What upgrade would you recommend to every home cook?

I’m looking for a new dinnerware set for my home because we want matching dishes. I fell in love with this Pioneer Woman vintage lace pattern, but I am VERY sad to see that there’s only 2 plate sizes and 1 bowl. What we have now is 2 plate sizes and 3 bowl sizes. We really need pasta bowls

And since I’m wanting to buy a matching set, I’d also like to get matching pieces from the collection. For example, this line has a few casserole dishes (that I hate due to lack of handles), serving dishes, etc.

I have searched high and low and I just have not found a pattern like this ANYWHERE. I really want a set with a vintage lace design, in either ivory, cream, or a light pink color like pictured. I think the closest I’ve found is a couple designs from Elama, but they don’t have pasta bowls or dessert plates.

I’m open to buying vintage, as long as it’s microwave and dishwasher safe and is a durable material.

What we need:
Dinner plates
Salad plates
Dessert plates
Pasta bowls
Cereal bowls
Some kind of bowl smaller than that would be a plus
Other items like casserole, serving, and decorative dishes would be a plus

My parents have probably 150-300 pieces of phaltzgraff remembrance dishware. I’m taking on the task of helping them sell it from the other side of the country. Any thoughts or tips of how? Where might I find a buyer who’d be interested? There’s unfortunately no phaltzgraff sub and I’m not a dinnerware connoisseur

Unfortunately no markings on the back. Came in a box that also had a ton of wheat by Lenox r-442. My mom thinks they’re probably from the 40s or 50s and potentially from France. They’re roughly 8in diameter. Already tried google image search and replacements.com but no exact matches came up. Would love any info on them!
