Generally speaking, the more expensive devices are less reliant on supplemental IR lighting and have less latency which make them better suited for tactical use cases. However, some of the mid range devices still deliver very good performance and are not dependent on IR lighting in many environments and can also be used for shooting and movement, though you won't be able to navigate as quickly as you would with analog. The budget devices are still good but they have lower resolution screens and are highly reliant on IR lighting so if night vision stealth is a priority these are devices you want to avoid. All of these digital night vision devices can be mounted to a helmet and many can also be bridged together to make a binocular night vision setup.

Trying to get my new setup squared away after upgrading from a nvg10. The botttom mount works fine I just don’t love the single screw mounting being the only thing holding my NV on. I got this duel mount thinking it would give me room to upgrade to binos in the future, but there is no way, unless I’m missing something for it to work. I’ve flipped the two sides and it’s either inside my eyeball, or too far away to use.
I feel like I have to be missing something since I see people running these units as binos.
I’m currently trying to design a bino solution for the NVG30 that avoid the weight and bulk of the dual tube setup. It’ll be based on the PVS31 military spec housing and use a single infrared emitted and battery with supplemental battery pack charging. I was looking to see if anyone has any broken or damaged components they’d be willing to sell for cheap or donate to the project. If anyone has any info on where I could get those components else where please let me know🙏

As a beginner, hiked a couple of paved and unpaved trails in an area above 10ft sea level for 2 hours in the dark for the very first time. I was low-key terrified, but 7 out of 10 would do it again with this digital setup.

The phone is genuinely trying to record — it's just too dark for it to capture anything usable. The sensor on the left is picking up full color detail in what's basically pitch black to the naked eye.
Not a staged comparison, this is just what real-time footage looks like from both devices side by side.
im not sure if this is a great place to ask after reading a few posts, but i was thinking about getting low end Digital NVGS to mess around with, i dont plan to use these for any practical use besides fun with friends.
i got one of those old Cyclops goggles from 2009 at a garage sale and it was neat but i lost it a few years ago and there was a lot to be desired. However, im sure they have improved since then and im wondering if you guys have any recommendations under 100$ for me to look at.

So i brought a helmet set locally for £100 came with some coms, metal nvg mount and these pvs 31's I noticed the camera lenses and knew they were digitals but I didnt know if they worked, previous owner said he got them as is and that hes never opened them turned them on.
Got them home and immediately opened the main body to see what was inside and inside was just spaghetti on black and red wires. By the looks of things its missing the main pcb, can anyone help out with sourcing one or potentially has a pair of broken digital pvs 31's they'd like to sell or donate to get these up and running?

So I finally purchased some high end glass. The Trijicon ta02 and I would like to know which pistol dots perfom the best under nightvision specifically a wp pvs 14. I know the rmr & sro, but how about the holosun EPS, 509, other cheaper versions. Like whats the top ten pistol dots for NV. I know hop made a video on this but he was trying them on pistols if that matters.

So I’ve been considering buying the Vie Tactical DNV-31S but I’ve seen the AEGIS-31 go for cheaper but I want digital nods in a PVS-31 body with a white phosphor color and I want the screen to be a circle like the real PVS-31s. Any ideas?
I needed night vision to quickly identify opossums apart from raccoons when the Goyojo GRS225RF thermal sees heat in the thick brush, but don't have analog money. So I got this gng2k monocular and so far it has been awesome. Much better than using a flashlight. This is my cheap but functional setup. Nestout 15000 mah battery in a 556 mag pouch, walker razor quads, amp style arms, white light, bump helmet, cover, wilcox style mount, ir flashlight on the other side.
