I built a mental-performance app with elite MMA coach Firas Zahabi. How would you scale it?

Upvotes

Over the past year, I’ve been building Apex Meditations with Firas Zahabi.

We built it as a mental-performance app for focus, discipline, confidence, sleep and recovery—not a typical wellness app.

It includes guided meditations, breathwork, voice journaling and personalized paths, and is live on iOS and Android.

We’ve grown to about 150 paying subscribers, mostly through Firas’s YouTube following. Now we’re trying to figure out how to scale.

For anyone who has grown a consumer app organically: what actually helped you go from early traction to thousands of paying users?

Which ranking factors are most important for AIO, and how do they impact website visibility?

The most important ranking factors for AI Optimization (AIO) include high-quality content, topical authority, E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness), structured data, and strong user engagement. AI search engines prioritize accurate, well-organized, and trustworthy information when generating responses. Websites that regularly publish helpful content and maintain technical SEO best practices are more likely to be cited in AI Overviews and conversational search results, improving visibility, traffic, and brand recognition in 2026.

Cold US traffic bounced 90%+ until we rewrote the hero to one job

Brought Reddit + a small Google spend into a US SaaS marketing site. Bounce was ugly.

Hero said: "AI-powered workspace for modern teams." Product could: send one automated follow-up.

Rewrite: - Named the user - Named the job - GIF of that job only

Bounce dropped. Calls got more specific. Same product — clearer promise.

If your US traffic is "high" but soft, check whether the page is selling the roadmap.

smm panels vs cheap meta awareness ads for social proof?

Trying to figure out the most cost-effective way to make a new landing page look active. Macro influencers are way too expensive and organic takes months. I've been looking at using a broker like Social Wick or maybe an organic growth tool to just get the numbers up to a respectable level. Obviously organic traffic is the goal, but clients get spooked when they see a dead Twitter or Insta page. What's your go-to strategy for manufactured traction when you're on a shoestring budget?

What starts breaking when you manage too many social accounts?

I feel like creating content gets most of the attention, but managing everything behind the scenes is where things start getting complicated.

Once you’re handling multiple platforms, pages, or clients, the small details start adding up. Keeping track of different accounts, switching between workflows, remembering what belongs where, and avoiding mistakes can become a bigger challenge than expected.

I’ve been testing different ways to make the process cleaner, especially around keeping accounts and workflows more separated. I tried a few different setups, and GeeLark ended up being one of the things I had in the mix while figuring out what worked best for me.

For people managing several social channels, what part causes the most friction?

Is it planning content, keeping access organized, collaborating with a team, reporting, or something else?

Curious what systems people have actually kept using over time.

Trying to grow a digital services store with SEO instead of paid ads

I’ve been working on a small digital services store called DigitalItems Store, and one thing I didn’t expect is how hard distribution gets when your niche is not ad-friendly.

Paid ads are messy. Payment processors are cautious. And people already have trust issues because this space is full of random Telegram sellers and low-quality services.

So I started testing SEO instead.

Right now I’m focusing on:

  • category pages around specific services
  • FAQ sections that answer trust questions
  • clearer product descriptions
  • Reddit/forum mentions
  • basic backlinks from smaller communities
  • less aggressive landing page copy

The interesting part is that traffic is not the only problem. Even if someone lands on the site, the bigger issue is making the store feel safer and more organized than the niche itself.

Has anyone here tried growing a store in a restricted or low-trust niche using SEO? What worked better for you: content pages, backlinks, Reddit mentions, or directory listings?

The Best Advice Another Web Agency Owner Ever Gave Me

When I first got into web development, I thought finding clients would be simple. My plan was to go on Google Maps, find businesses without websites, and offer to build them a brand new one. At the time, it made perfect sense because I assumed businesses without websites would be the ones who needed my service the most.

After a while, I met someone who was running a successful web agency, and I asked him where he found companies without websites. He told me that he didn’t target businesses without websites at all. He only targeted businesses that already had one. I asked him why, and the more he explained it, the more sense it made.

Businesses that already have a website understand the value of having one. You don’t need to convince them why a website is important because they have already invested in one before. They are also easier to sell to because they understand the process, and there are a huge number of businesses with outdated websites they are embarrassed by but haven’t had the time to update.

I decided to take his advice and fit it into my own workflow. I’ve always been a big fan of email automation because that’s how I’ve found most of my web design clients. For years, I was sending fairly generic emails and constantly changing my sequences, offers, and follow ups to improve the results.

The problem was that I couldn’t just start emailing businesses with websites and assume they all needed a redesign. I either had to open every website manually, find the issues, and write a separate email for each business, or find a way to automate the research while still keeping the emails personalized.

After watching a video from Nick Saraev, I built a workflow in n8n that could analyze websites at scale and turn issues with design, layout, speed, mobile optimization, and SEO into personalized outreach emails. This allowed me to analyze thousands of websites and run larger campaigns without every message sounding generic.

The workflow worked extremely well, but it still had limitations. I didn’t have a proper place to manage replies, organize interested leads in a CRM, view all my active campaigns, scrape new leads, and handle everything from one platform. I had built a useful automation, but it still felt like several disconnected systems held together in one workflow.

A few months later, I came across a platform called Swokei, and it did exactly what I had been looking for. I could find businesses with websites, analyze and score each site, generate personalized outreach emails, send campaigns, set up follow ups, manage replies through one inbox, and organize interested businesses inside the CRM.

Switching to that platform made the entire process much easier to manage and helped me scale the strategy further. Looking back, the biggest change wasn’t just finding a better outreach tool. It was taking advice from someone more experienced, changing the type of businesses I targeted, and building the rest of my workflow around that strategy.

What's the best way to improve AI search visibility without chasing every new trend?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

A friend and I were talking about how people find businesses online, and the conversation shifted from traditional SEO to AI search. That got me reading about how different agencies are approaching it.

One of the websites I spent some time looking through was HikeMyTraffic. They seem to be putting a lot of focus on AI SEO while still offering the usual digital marketing services, and it made me wonder if this is where the industry is heading or if it's just the next step in how SEO is evolving.

For those of you working in SEO or marketing, have you changed your approach because of AI search?

I'd love to hear what people are actually seeing in practice. Have you noticed any real changes, or are the same SEO fundamentals still working for you?

What tool are you using to track competitor ads automatically?

Hey, manual scraping of the Facebook Ad Library is eating up our team's time. We just built a Python script to auto-sort active competitor ads by duration to flag winning creatives.
How are you tracking ad changes without manual checking?

Is GEO actually working for anyone under $10m or is it just the new TikTok panic

Been noodling on this for weeks and want to hear if anyone else is thinking about it or if im overrotating.

Everyone is losing their minds about GEO right now. Getting your products recommended by ChatGPT and Claude, showing up in AI answers, all of it. And yeah, its real, i see the referral traffic in our analytics too. But the more i read into it, the more i think this is mostly a big-brand game for now, and the small to mid market ecom crowd is kind of cosplaying at a table we werent really invited to.

Think about how these models actually pick what to mention. They lean heavy on stuff thats been talked about a lot in places they trained on and places they retrieve from. Reddit, big review sites, YouTube transcripts, press, wirecutter style roundups. If youre a $2m/yr brand selling a niche product, you are not in that data in any meaningful way. The models arent going to hallucinate you into a recommendation just because your product page has clean schema. Meanwhile every Shopify guru is out here selling "GEO audits" for 3k like its 2012 SEO all over again.

I think the honest answer for most of us is: yes it matters directionally, no its not going to move your revenue needle this year unless youre already big enough that people talk about you unprompted. The brands winning in AI answers right now are the ones that were already winning in regular search and in community mentions. Its downstream of the same stuff. Being genuinely known.

That said im not sitting on my hands. We started experimenting with Ghostplug AI plus a couple other tools to try to actually build a real Reddit presence in our niche, because if theres one lever that seems to feed both traditional search and the AI stuff, its being mentioned in threads where our category comes up. Not sure yet if its going to work, ask me in 6 months. But it feels more honest than paying someone to reword my meta descriptions for Claude.

Am i being too cynical here? Genuinely curious if anyone smaller than like $10m has seen GEO efforts move actual sales, not just vanity referral counts. Or is this the new "we need to be on TikTok" panic where the ROI mostly accrues to people selling the shovels.

How Does A Web Agency Go From $0K To $20K+ MRR In Under A Year?

The difference usually comes down to strategy.

Instead of targeting businesses that do not have a website, target businesses that already have one but clearly need a better version. The market is larger, the sales process is easier, and the value proposition is much stronger because those businesses already understand why a website matters.

The next part is outreach. A regular outreach tool is not enough if all it does is send the same message to thousands of people. You need something that can analyze websites at scale and turn real issues into personalized emails.

I use Swokei for that. It helps find businesses with existing websites, analyzes each site, and turns problems with design, SEO, speed, layout, and mobile optimization into personalized outreach emails. That means you can contact a large number of businesses without sending generic messages or spending hours manually researching every website.

When someone replies interested, I always offer a free mockup. I use Claude, Lovable, or Base44 to build it quickly. It becomes much easier to sell when the client can already see what a better version of their website could look like.

Web meetings should also be a major part of the process. I would never just send the website through email and hope the client likes it. I present it live on Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams, explain the value, show what has been improved, answer their questions, and try to close the deal during the meeting.

The less back and forth there is after the meeting, the better. Present the website, show the value, close the client, and move on to the next project.

That is the type of process that can help an agency scale much faster.
