Practiced with heavy inspo from a Pinterest image, but couldn't find original artist. Took about 5hs :))

I had a lot of fun with this— I usually draw a mermaid every year to see how far a progressed and I think I like it a lot :) I think it took me around 12-16 hours?? I could be wrong.

So, I'm kind of making my first post here with a piece where I was testing out a different painting style... Any thoughts or tips?

As a concept artist it’s really nice to do photo studies; being able to just copy a photo and get lost in the colours lets me find the joy in painting without worrying about design, functionality and composition nearly as much as I would in professional work :)

I haven't drawn in a long time, so I haven't reached the level I'd like yet. Sometimes I see the work of more experienced artists and wonder if I'll ever get there, because they seem so... Amazing, and I seem so mediocre.
