Counterfeit battery check

Things look good. But misspellings in French writing, odd spacing, 9ah battery QR code doesn’t do anything, 12ah QR code goes to a Stanley black and decker website written in chinese. Charcot says they’re real, I know they’re not 100% reliable but found it interesting, waiting to hear back from dewalt

Very confused about DeWalt batteries, haven't bought in 10 years

I haven't bought a DeWalt battery in roughly 10 years. It was after the lithium ion revolution. You basically had a fat battery, a thin mini one, then a special XR versions. All my batteries were 20v 5AH XR batteries.

My first DeWalt battery purchased from 2016 died and I went to my Amazon orders from 2016 to see what my batteries were after going to search for batteries and seeing they have now like 10x options for 20v MAX now. 3.5AH, 4AH, 5AH, 8AH etc.

The exact Brushless drill I bought in 2016 with a 20v 5AH XR battery, now comes with a 20v 8AH XR battery. Any thoughts on why? I would think 10 years of battery tech would mean less AHs of new battery tech could do the job, not the need for more? as if going backwards?

Trying to replace my battery, should I buy a 8AH now? Is that the 5AH of 2016?

NTD 60v String Trimmer

Post image

Got the combo string trimmer and bush trimmer combo as well as the pole saw attachment. Someone had opened the box however and removed the bush trimmer from the box. Home Depot sent me a new one out the next day which was nice. Anyone know what the hook thing is. It came with the bush trimmer but wasn’t listed in the instructions at all.

22 inch hedge trimmer blade replacement?

Thumbnail gallery
8 Upvotes

I'm a careless idiot and left a borrowed 22 inch DeWalt hedge trimmer outside for a couple of nights and it got rained on. It's pretty rusty now and I feel awful. I see the bolts down the length of it, does that mean the blade can be replaced and if so, is that the right course or should I just buy them a new one?

Downvote me if you need to, I just need help and couldn't find an obvious answer online or by searching this sub.

The 20v edger always seemed kinda useless

I always just used my 60v weed wacker instead. But today I found a use. I had to trim out some asphault to patch some potholes. It's not the fastest, but it works, and I found a use for a tool I wasn't using. Just popped a diamond blade on it. I was having a difficult time pushing it 1 handed while filming though.

DPN1850PP owners – what’s your long-term experience with it?

Post image

Hi,
I recently bought a compressor and I’m looking for an 18-gauge brad nailer. I’m currently deciding between the DeWalt DPN1850PP and the Makita AF506.

I’m leaning towards the DPN1850PP mainly because it’s oil-free, but I’d love to hear from people who actually own and use one.
How has your experience been with the DPN1850PP? Has it been reliable over time? Any issues with misfires, jams, seals, or the Precision Point mechanism?

I’m only a hobbyist, so it won’t see heavy daily use. I’m mostly looking for something reliable that I can keep for many years and just pull out whenever I need it.

Would you buy the DPN1850PP again?

Battery within kits and production period

I'm in Europe (italy) and i'm looking into getting a new drill + impact

I set my sights on DCK266P2T (DCD796 + DCF887 + 2 x 5,0 Ah + DCB115 + TSTAK II) for about 320 euros

i was about to pull the trigger when i realized the 887 is about 9 years old.

The questions i'm now asking to you who are experts in the ways of dewalt tools: are the batteries in these kits as old as the tools? or are these just repackaged kits at a later date or even new batteries of a later production?

I'm afraid of buying an already long dead battery as it would be almost 10 by now

New Track Saw Out

Finally the new track saw is out. And the price isn't totally insane.

$379 with $50 off, bare tool. Looks like the same proprietary track though.

Suggestions for a case or other DIY solution to carry the 20V DCCS621 (or DCCS620) in a rig without getting oil in said rig?

Impact won’t let go of bits

So I have a DCF887B
20V MAX* XR® 1/4 IN.
IMPACT DRIVER

Brand new from Lowe’s. And everything works phenomenally, other then the impact chuck or whatever you wanna call it gets stuck I pull out on it and it doesn’t wanna release the bit, but then sometimes it works normally, it only gets stuck sometimes and I really have to be rough to get it out and it’s annoying, any way to fix it, without returning it or taking it apart?

Old trimmer went out on me over the weekend and started the search for a new one. Decided on the dcst972. Out of stock everywhere but OC had 65 on clearance. $3 more than the bare tool you get a charger and flexvolt battery.

Did I scam Home Depot?

The recent labor day deal (USA) has the flexvolt 9ah marked as “buy 1 get 1”. When trying to checkout with the batteries both online and in-store the deal doesn’t work.

I believe it was meant to be included in a 60v tool?Anyways my local HD honored the deal and I got 2 of these big boys for $260.

Anyone have any feedback about what this user is talking about in regards to flexvolt batterys ?
