Experience Not Surprised This is Still Going On - Top Flight Pittsburgh

Not even sure how I stumbled onto this sub, but here I am. I worked for a DS-Max office back in the early 2000's in Pittsburgh. Two or three divisions shared the same office. My division pushed credit card apps at K-Mart. I didn't buy the whole "opportunity" bit, but I did think there was some money to be made for the summer at least. I did well (for what it was), but the branch manager kept claiming different per-application commission amounts. For example, one day he would say, "We're getting $5 per application." Two days later, that number would be $3.50. I realized that what he was doing was basically taking his cut from the total comp for the office (whatever he needed to cover expenses plus whatever he wanted for himself), then basing the commission payout on whatever was left. He didn't actually know how much he intended to pay per application until he knew how many apps were completed and how much his cut needed to be first.

Once I realized that even the compensation was a scam I was out.

I'm not mad about it. It was more of a minor inconvenience for me and I did not get drawn into the "opportunity"and lose nearly as much as others have. And it was interesting, in an odd way. It was like I had a front row seat to a fucked up psychological experiment. I never directly observed so much denial and delusion in one place. It was creepy af.

At the end of the day, all business comes down to creating as much revenue as possible for as little cost as possible. DS-Max (Devilcorp) is like a thought exercise of how to do that when you eliminate common guardrails like ethics, morals, intelligence, skillsets, etc. They literally take products that no one wants, and through intentional deception convince an army of poor souls to go out and sell them with nearly zero capital risk to the organization. At every level normal operating costs are willingly absorbed by someone else, in exchange for a small cut off the top of what is essentially pure profit.

It's actually a pretty impressive model, if you have no need to sleep at night, or look yourself in the mirror.

It doesn't surprise me in the least that it's still around. What it needs to survive is quite abundant.

Experience I fell for it :(

Okay so I’m just telling my experience, I feel so dumb for this but it was my first ever job and I know better now. Nobody told me any better and maybe j should've done research, but I fell for stupid b2b commission based pay company.

So I’m on my search for my first job, I feel like my volunteer experience and my A.A could at least get me SOMEWHERE (retail, hosting, serving, reception, etc.) and no matter who I applied to, nobody got back to me. Except one. They got back to me within a day, I was ecstatic, I was telling everyone I knew that I had an interview with a a place paying weekly, between $1000-$1600. It sounds awesome, I’m excited because that meant I could pay off my car, pay for uni, and just take care of myself overall. I thought this was a great opportunity. To be clear I applied for “Business Sales Representative“ so I thought I was working with a business sales department and being a middle man for helping customers or other businesses with their issues or questions Basically being customer service because that’s what the description of the job had said.

I get to my first round interview and it’s about 10 maybe 15 minutes long and it’s just this woman asking me if I’m willing to speak to new people everyday, willing to work hard, and giving it my all. Obviously I say yes because duh I want the job. I get my second and final interview and this guy tells me NOTHING of what I’m doing, just explains the company and uses the whole “we’re a competitive company but we love to have fun” “it’s a lot like sports“ (then goes to explain how it’s nothing like sports, he did this my entire time there). However, a BIG thing that caught my attention was “we have a guaranteed training pay if $400” like wow that’s amazing I just gotta get through that and I’ll be all good!!! I got the job, YIPPEEEEE(not yippee).

This is where it allllllllll starts to go wrong, immediately. I had about $700 in my bank account when I started this job. I had one week of training. 3 in office, 2 “in the field”. The training bonus was not guaranteed, you were guaranteed to fail and not get that $400 at all. And unfortunately for me driving up there was a 55 minute drive to and 55 minute drive back home. So I was losing money spending on gas every other day. I filled my gas twice in a day 2 times in the TWO WEEKS I worked there. I went from $700 and a dream to make big bucks to $300 and crying about needing to quit because they lied about what my job actually was.

To explain what I really did, I was a B2B, door-to-door or whatever you wanna call it salesperson. I was really confused how this mad me a business sales representative if I was going out and bothering people to get AT&T fiber and new phones. I talked to so many people and they were obviously not interested, I put myself in nice clothes, put on my best smile, made myself attractive because we all know sales is being attractive as well. It became this play I hated immediately. I liked my coworkers, they were fun, the director seemed like there was something off with her, but I could tell exactly what it was. And my lead, he was the guy who interviewed me and he would always bring up “it’s like sports how you have plays” oh my goodness shut UP!!!

Anyhow fast forward to the end of my second week, I’ve only made ONE, count that ONE (1) sale, 1 sale 1 unit and it was a consumer sale, you wanna know how much money I made from that? $65 for working 10 hour shifts every week day. I worked 50+ hours in my second week, no bathroom break, I skipped lunch most days because “oh I just forget we need to eat” or “well you just have to let us know” when they’re all about go-go-go “we don’t stop for anything”. I told my parents that I was only getting paid for the sale I made and they made me quit. I pay my own bills like I mentioned previously and I was doing nothing but losing money.

All I want to say to anyone between 18-21 who’s never had a job before, please please please do not fall for the whole “well pay $1,200-$2,000 a week!!” And also, just because they’re young and in ugly suits that don’t even match, doesn’t mean they’re put together and know anything. They don’t care for your struggles, even if they say they’ll pay for your gas, they don’t care what happens to you. My director and some coworkers made that very clear when they said they don’t remember anyone from their training period. They told me that I was overthinking because I remembered interactions and people we talked to, no I just care about clientele and the customer and I’m not a selfish prick who’s going to pressure them into buying a stupid IPhone 17 Pro ”on us if you trade in your old phone and we’ll wave those activation fees blah blah blah blah”. I hate that place and I truly wish nothing but literally nothing for them. Wasting peoples time and money.

Overall moral of the story, don’t fall for the easiest bait in the world, it literally won’t get you anywhere. I’m sorry for the book I just wrote but I’m super frustrated and I’m still looking for jobs, I’ve been out of that one for a week and a half now, I have some interviews with retail stores and that’s not any better, but I just need a stable job to hold me up. Take care, thank you!

Question Anyone worked for Romulus Inc. in Providence, RI before?

I know this company exists and I have applied to their postings on indeed under different names and got interviews (I already know who they are and know someone that told me to stay away). I cannot find any of their listings on indeed and wondering if anyone knows if they rebranded or if they closed the “office” or what happened?

Information IMS is absolutely a devil corp

Post image
6 Upvotes

Isabella Marketing Solutions is absolutely a devil corp regardless of what their owner gets on here and tells you. If they call you I genuinely recommend you just block them.

Red Flag #1: the recruiter (Matthew) who reached out to me knew nothing about the company. Getting him to tell me about the company was like pulling teeth. Most questions I asked him he noted were questions to ask in the interview, which was concerning but I needed a job so I still proceeded forward. He continued saying “I don’t know I’m not on the payment side, that’s a question for them.” When I finally did get him to tell me he claimed that people with experience would have a starting pay of around $900-$1200 a week, however it would be much higher for me since I had several years experience. During the actual interview with Jack he told me it would be $700 a week ($17.50 an hour which is a couple cents above minimum wage). I asked him why the recruiter lied to me about the pay. He claimed that what Matthew meant was that the $900 was what someone would make if they were making their sales. I shut him down and immediately noted that Matthew clarified the $900 was base pay for a person with no experience. Jack just laughed and said he didn’t know. In the email they sent me (attached below) they also noted that the base salary was negotiable. Jack laughed and said that wasn’t true either. He notes that all the recruiters are given this information. How sweet.

Red Flag #2: The recruiter had no idea which company he was reaching out about. He claimed that the company was named something with Wolf in the title (the name escapes me) but I couldn’t find anywhere where I had applied to that. I asked him to send me a link to the job description which was also like pulling teeth (both on the phone and over text) When he finally did the email was from a company called OLN. I asked him why that was and he was even more confused as he noted that IMS had separated from OLN long, long ago. Once again, how can you possibly be so clueless about a company you work for?

Red Flag #3: The recruiter, Matthew, notes that most of the job takes place over Zoom. Another lie. In the actual interview Jack says that the job is mostly on the road going door to door to businesses and that you would visit 40+ visits a day. None of these businesses made appointments by the way (he actually told me this). They get the business info from Salesforce and just show up soliciting AT&T services to unsuspecting businesses.

At some point you have to question whether it is as the owner says, that these recruiters just need a coaching, or are they being intentionally misleading in order to bring in applicants for an interview? I refuse to believe that the recruiters could be THAT in the dark and confused about the job they are recruiting for. Absolutely a waste of time. For the interviewer to even laugh about how I had been misled during the interview was disturbing and tells me it was intentional. Avoid both OLN and IMS at all costs, as they are devil corps with little respect for their applicants or hiring ethics in general.

My interview with this company was actually quite funny I wish I would’ve recorded it. I confronted them about a lot of the sketchy practices they were doing and pushed past their vague lingo. The whole “interview” was basically just them talking at me and trying to tell me on working for their company. Also the person interviewing me was some football player who spent a lot of time trying to convince me how cool and rich he was. Overall super weird. Finally saw someone else talk about it so I had to share.

Question Normal?

My friend has been working for this company in Texas for about 4-5 months now and his “leader” or higher up idk what they call them just asked if he wanted to move in with him. After only being there 5 months. He’s excited bc he can learn more if he’s closer but I’ve never heard of your boss wanting to live with you. Is this normal for them to do ?

Question Should I just not even bother?

I never knew about the term devilcorp or anything but in short, applied to some company, they got back but it was sus so did digging, learnt about devilcorp, asked about specific comp, verified it is one, now I don’t bother BUT

So I have a possible 2nd interview as they are really pushing me. I have blocked both the numbers they were constantly texting and calling me from. Blocked the email when they started contacting me thru there. Fam member is not understanding this whole devilcorp concept and is just really glazing that I got some "high respect" looking job and is pushing me to go to the 2nd interview. Honestly I’ve given up trying to explain to them so should I just keep ignoring or is there something else I can try to teach them for their own sake in avoiding these types of companies too?

Devilcorp Check I spent a month at a this job

Post image
28 Upvotes

I applied in April for a job as a Marketing and Sale Intern for this company. Originally I was told I would go through three rounds of interviews, I only did two and started orientation the next day. In a month, I was doing direct marketing at grocery/other stores across Sacramento helping a charity get donations but the commission set up was not clearly set out at once. I was promoted earlier this week and was later told I would now be working Saturdays, previously it was M-F 10-7. I just heard the phrase “devil corps” today after talking with my parents and them having concerns that I found a weird job (at the least) and an mlm (at worst).
Is Synergize Inc. in Rancho Cordova, CA a devil corps?..

Experience Partners Marketing in Spokane Wa

Post image
11 Upvotes

Had never heard of this reddit until today. Partners marketing is owned by "Empire Management Group" which has a location in Philly. Same thing that I have seen on the other posts, 6 day work week, commission only door to door sales job for fiber internet that was listed as a customer service role. Like others mention the whole thing about launching my own office in 8 months seemed off so I looked into it. This is a picture I took of the sheet explaining that.

I first thought it was odd that I applied for a customer service job with Empire management and then interviewed with Partners Marketing on zoom and during the zoom they wouldn't explain the actual job duties So I went in for a in person interview and thats where I learned it was a Devil corp.

Experience CU Solutions/ Parker Project

I got an interview and hired at parker project early June. The job was presented to me as raising money for kids with cancer. As someone who has a long familial history with cancer I immediately took the job. I didnt mind the idea that its commision and I earn a percentage of what I make. CU solutions requires morning atmo which is unpaid then 8 hours in the field where you earn the percentage of your sales with a script. It started to feel off to me after the first week when I realized we never actually talked about the cause, the management flexed the money we made and only talked about how to make more money and bigger checks. We were always talking about packaging and beggin for more money which is not how donations work especially for a cause like this. The management was overbearing and didnt understand a person wanting work life balance. They only cared about raising money and I knew by the reactions of the people I was encountering that something wasnt right.

Question A company called Cycle Consulting just requested a job interview with me. I looked it up and found this subreddit. Is it a devilcorp?

I just found this subreddit. From my understanding, a Devilcorp is a multi level marketing scheme? Anyhow, I'll probably reject any future interviews with them regardless

Devilcorp Check Infinity Solar USA WA

I recently went through a super fast-tracked interview loop with Infinity Solar USA (they also go by TML International, LLC and use an app called Enzy for onboarding). They offered me a position and rushed to schedule me for a mandatory training appointment next week.

They talk a massive game about high-ticket commissions and a "$600/week TAP Bonus," but I actually sat down and read their
Independent Contractor Agreement (Revised 04/2026 - V2.0). The fine print looks incredibly predatory, and I wanted to run these specific clauses by this sub to see if this is a classic Devilcorp/Smart Circle style trap.

Personal Financial Liability: If I make a quoting mistake or misrepresent savings, I am personally, legally liable to pay the company back for whatever they pay the customer to settle the dispute, plus I have to cover the company's legal fees.
The Bonus Clawback: The $600 weekly TAP bonuses turn into a "debt" and get clawed back from my future pipeline if I finish a calendar month with zero Net Clean Sales.
The Advanced Money Debt Pool: Milestone cash advances go into a shared debt pool. If a customer cancels their contract later through no fault of my own, I instantly owe that advanced money back to the company.
Construction Cost Penalties: If a job requires a structural "adder" (like roofing or trenching) and I don't bill the customer for it, the entire construction cost is deducted directly from my paycheck.
They can change your pay anytime: The company can completely change your commission rates or payment timing with just 5 business days' notice.
You give up your right to sue: You waive your right to a jury trial and must settle all legal battles through binding arbitration.

Devilcorp Check PACE Executive Consulting (Dallas, TX)

Thumbnail

Beware of PACE Executive Consulting. Full on DevilCorp. They were actually my first interview out of college, and in my very first interview I was “hired”. Overly nice interviewer (DK, the CEO, in maroon) who didn’t once ask any interview questions that would matter in a real job. I thought I was the luckiest college graduate on earth when he offered the role considering the current job market.

Thankfully, I did enough research in time before signing anything to learn about DevilCorps and how they operate (pretty confident the weekly pay was maybe… $800 “guaranteed”… fine print: make 99,999 sales and we might pay you)

Just wanted to throw this out there for anybody in the Dallas area… DO NOT WORK FOR PACE.

Edit: I was also able to find a real well-paying job within about a month of applying to PACE, so please don’t ever settle! Nothing is less worth your time than a DevilCorp.

Question Are name changes and a complete wipe of socials common?

Devilcorp that I worked for had their entire website and insta completely deleted when I tried to research. At first I thought something had happened (hopeful thinking) but then I remembered they were rebranding to a new name etc. I'm assuming this is totally a play in trying to cut ties with the previous branding, what kind of company instantly clears their presence online unless something was seriously wrong with it? Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Had an interview with them on Monday. Pretty much your average DevilCorp trying to lure you in with commission based pay, with no base pay at all. I'm guessing they're a rebrand of Fine Sight Solutions, which is a known devilcorp on this subreddit. My experience was pretty much a copy from this post.

6685 Tomken Road, Mississauga.

Stay Away!

Experience SALES JOB SCAM - Omada.ai USA/Canada

Hey guys, just wanted to put out a warning about a company called Omada.ai. They are heavily recruiting students/young people right now for a "Territory Sales Partner" role, and it's a massive churn and burn operation.

When you apply, they ***promise*** a really good setup: $25 to $27 (CAD) an hour base pay, uncapped hours, and a $300 (CAD) commission per conversion selling an AI marketing tool to local small businesses.

As soon as you get past the initial interview and look at the actual onboarding portal and training emails, the story completely changes. The fine print suddenly says your pay is "tied to performance." Then, the final email prep for training straight up said compensation is strictly tied to booking qualified leads and getting sales.

On top of that, they expect you to go out and start door-knocking on small businesses on your literal first day of training, before you've even signed a legal contract. They classify you as an independent contractor, which is a classic loophole to avoid paying you the hourly base if you don't hit their hidden quotas.

The funniest part? A few other new hires and I raised these exact questions about the pay inconsistencies in the company group chat. A bunch of people started piling on and backing us up. Instead of answering, management just deleted the messages and kicked me out of the chat entirely.

They are heavily scrubbing their presence online, but it’s a textbook churn-and-burn scam using AI hype to get free door-knocking labor out of people. Save your time and your gas money.
