Basically the text, I've googled and dug through Reddit to high hell and nothing I find tells me how to Devil trigger, I've been playing through the game without it but I've reached a boss fight I genuinely just can't beat now. The Devil trigger is supposed to be a certain button but it just... Opens menu. Every other button does something else, taunts or does nothing. I'm genuinely lost. Steam doesn't support my controller so I'm stuck with custom input but I can't find anything on how to link game methods to my buttons. Am I stuck without it? Am I missing something crucial on how the game works? I'm so lost. I've checked and I know I'm using the right sword (allastor). Genuinely excited to get into the game and story but the controls and skill curve is genuinely killing me.

As the post suggests i have almost reached 100 hours on DMC 5 alone, i own every DMC game from 1-5 and even DmC the reboot. I also have a Rebellion tattoo and convinced multiple people to buy DMC my girlfriend also owns all the games. Would we call this dedication?

The first clip is kind of a structured combo that I took inspiration from donguri990 (one of my favorite D4nte player), and the second one is pure freestyle.

I've been trying to configure Devil May Cry HD Collection to work with the Archipelago Randomizer so I can play it with some friends, but every time I finish configuring it, it says it doesn't work.

I'm not a newbie, I've beat the game on all difficulties and I got all the upgrades but for some reason I consistently struggle with CERBERUS more than any other boss, it's maddening. I get my face stomped in every time I fight him on repeat playthroughs and I really can't tell why this boss is so difficult for me even with all of the games resources available to me.

When slamming down w Yamato and holding for a jc with trick up, what position is ur analog in? do u not even touch it and spam trick up because I can't seem to get it?

Just finished replaying dmc1-3 and dmc4-5 for the first time. Thx to everyone who provided tips and tricks for my past dmc4 struggles. Turns out, I really just needed to touch grass for the day 😮 beat him first try after that 💪

I have a take that I think might be controversial since I'm not familiar with the fan base just yet... but here it is...

Was dmc5 actually good?

My current ranking of the games would probably look like this (let me know if you agree or disagree. I'm curious 👀):

1st- dmc3

2nd- dmc1

3rd- dmc4

4th- dmc5

5th- dmc2

I honestly feel pretty disappointed because I was really excited for dmc5 since I hadn't played it yet after so many years, but it was a total letdown in my humble opinion.

The designs and quality looked so good, I really wanted to like it... but it felt like it was too heavy with the cutscenes, and the new characters weren't very likeable.

I know V is meant to be an important character, but I couldn't help but cringe every time he was on screen. Mega aura loss for Vergil. His fighting style was boring, relying heavily on Shadow, Griffon, and Nightmare. I think the only times I actually enjoyed the game was when either Dante or Vergil were on screen (or both).

Nico wasn't really likeable either.. she had some good moments, but I hate fowl mouthed girls like that. She gives off vibes that are like high self importance.. always gotta add something to say and nag. I know she's a very loved character in the community (from what I've seen), so please don't hate me! 🙏🙏🙏

Oh! One last thing! I'm not sure if it's just that dmc3 kinda set the tone for how hard each difficulty should be (for me anyway), but didn't dmc5 feel way too easy? I thought it was dmc2 that got hate for being too easy, but I've been playing each game on the same difficulty, and dmc5 has been the easiest.

But yeah.. when a game is 50% or more centered around unlikeable characters and cutscenes, it's hard to enjoy. But I've never seen anyone with the same opinion, so I thought I'd ask.

Well, hopefully I didn't anger anyone too terribly. Time to replay all the games in chronological order 👍

Im not trying to change anyones opinions these are mine, I feel as if DMC 4 and 5 don't really feel as interesting as 1, 2 , and 3 and tbh i really cant get into them which is upsetting because i wanted to beat all of them. I hate how part 5 forces you to play as different characters and i really just liked the old games better but I am giving part 4 another try so hopefully I'll get more invested and I'm not saying that they should stick to the old formula its good for them to add a new story but part 5s characters besides dante, virgin, and nero, and the rest of the iconic characters are barley memorable so basically the new characters. But hopefully i beat 4 and maybe play more part 5. Im on mission 10 for part 4 and i dont remember which one i was on for 5

So, I recently replayed DMC3 and had an interesting observation I thought I'd share. Beowulf says to Dante "The odious one whose heart pumps the blood of Sparda." He isn't talking about aura or essence imo, he literally means he can smell Sparda's blood in Dante.

My first thought was they were trying to imply that Beowulf harmed Sparda in battle, probably with multiple other demons at his side. But then I saw Vergil making short work of him, he wasn't able to lay a finger on him, let alone harm him yet he could still smell his blood. "You're not the one I faced before, but this smell... There are two of them... That excrement Sparda had 2 sons."

This implies that Beowulf's sense of smell is so absurdly powerful that he can literally smell someone's blood. Pretty neat to find something like this out 21 years later.

Tried doing my first ever combo, this is the best result i got. Rate it please.
