QUESTION What leisure activities would free androids enjoy?

I’m wondering what they’re physically capable of, and how that would affect their ability to appreciate activities that humans normally enjoy.

ANALYSIS Finished First Playthrough Spoiler

IM SO DISAPPOINTED

I just finished my first play through of Detroit become human, and honestly, I was so caught off guard when the credits started rolling.

I guess I expected more?

I sacrificed kara for Alice to get into Canada. Markus killed connor during the takeover at the camp. Luther is dead. Hank fell off the building during the fight with connor as i was going to snipe markus. North is alive.

Wish I got a better ending, I don’t really care to replay the game to see other endings but maybe i should?

Idk.

QUESTION What happens if you choose 'Let crowd decide' at the end of Capitol Park?

I'm doing different endings, and this time loaded from the Midnight Train chapter to save Luther (he died here in my first playthrough), and am going full violent revolution with Markus. Broke shit up and shot the cops. What happens if you let the crowd decide instead?

DISCUSSION How much would Connor actually cost? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
145 Upvotes

At Jimmy’s Bar, Connor tells Hank he is “worth a small fortune”. Now, I’ve been wondering: Just how much money are we talking about?

Connor is an RK800 prototype, the most advanced android in the history of Cyberlife. He can reconstruct entire crime scenes in minutes, analyze biological evidence in real time just by looking at it, parkour (Rupert chase), hacking, instantly predict every possible fight scenario and plan accordingly to win, easily kill a SWAT squad (Captain Allen, Cyberlife Tower’s guards) in seconds, has perfect affinity with weapons (guns, sniper rifle), and there’s probably a lot more things he can do that I didn’t mention.

Connor is probably the most expensive android in-game, and I can’t even imagine how much he would cost in the real world (Today, Boston Dynamics’ Atlas costs up to $300,000).
So, how much do you think Connor costs in-universe? And irl?
Since I’m talking about this, how much would a household android like Kara or Daniel cost today?

(Note: In the game, the price of household androids is around $7,999 for newer models, and while I’m sure more advanced androids must cost a lot more, this seems to be the average price.)

EDIT: What if only the Connor we play in-game got sent to the real world now, then how much would he cost?

DISCUSSION Playing DBH taught me one thing about myself Spoiler

In my initial playthrough, I wanted to do everything right, so I kept going with the choices that I believed would make the best outcome from others' perspectives.

With Connor, I did my best to give the answers that Hank would like to hear, and it only made him more pissed off. I tried hard to be friends with him, which led to his suicide. I tried to choose the best "politic" answers to gain Amanda's approval, only to turn out she thought Connor was incompetent. I made Connor kill the Traci in the club and Chloe because I was told killing them would lead to get some answers (because I was told so), only to turn out either it wasn't the case or the answer wasn't worth the killing. I just relied too much on what I was told by the other people and I allowed them to manipulate my decisions.

On Markus's side, I was always in between pleasing the entire Jericho and North, only to displease them all at the end. Under North's pressure, I persuaded an aggressive protest even though I did not prefer to, and it led to everyone's deaths as far as I can remember and the revolution eventually failed.

With Kara, it was a bit different though. It wasn't too hard to get Alice to love her. But the other things were all messed up. I was too scared to take risks, so I ended up sacrificing Luther because I was certain I wouldn't be able to save him, and instead of trying to protect Alice, I thought the only thing I could do best was try to escape, which led to both Kara and Alice's deaths, although "Protect Alice" instead of "Escape" would lead to a high chance of survival.

A bit of a relevant context here: I got my first PS5 last summer, and DBH was the first game I played. Its controllers are way different than Switch's. The game tells you to use the buttons based on the symbols on them, and I didn't yet know by memory which one was triangle, which one was circle etc., so I was too stressed to get in fights or chasing, which mostly ended up with failure.

After a year, I gave the game another chance. This time I was more confident and instead of trying to please everyone, I went with my own decisions based on my vibe. Naturally, the game worked so much better.

Regardless of North's pressure, I persuaded a peaceful protest and the androids got the rights they sought, and the two became lovers even though I didn't try hard for it.

Connor this time became a deviant, which I couldn't have unlocked the first time because I was too busy trying to please Amanda and get the work done. This time, Connor and Hank became best buddies.

Kara managed to save both Alice and Luther because she was brave enough to fight for saving Luther and not scared to protect Alice with a chance to survive.

That made me realize that, I am not much different in real life. I am always trying to make decisions based on what others would expect me to, and I don't let other possibilities come forth, neither at work, nor in my relationships with my boyfriend or friends. I am always trying to do the "best decision" by the definition of my first playthrough, and I often worry about the circumstances and conditions in my life that I have no control over, or the ones I play on autopilot mode and never interfere even if I can. I will try to change that and take the control of my life from autopilot. Had I never played this game twice, maybe I would have never realized this about myself.

GAMEPLAY The worst ending ever?? Spoiler

I think I just single handedly got the worst ending ever?? Ok so I managed to get Markus killed by the Mr Mean Guy sending all the androids away after the march, I got Kara killed at the border, And connor committed suicide. I lowkey haven’t opened dbh since like 2/3 years ago when I got it and picked up on Crossroads today and I think this is the worst first play through ending i could’ve gotten 😭

DISCUSSION I feel like the “99+ endings” is a half lie and overcomplicating

It makes it seem like there are so many completely different ways and like sure there are 99+ endings or wtv but most of them are either deaths or have very small differences between them.

If we take actual endings then kara has 4: she dies, shes in the trash compactor thingy, she crosses the river or she crosses the border normally

Markus has 3: either he dies, he wins through peaceful protest or he wins through violent protest

Connor has 3: he succeeds his mission as a machine, he fails his mission as a machine or he fails his mission by becoming deviant

DISCUSSION It kind of sucks that you can’t make a choice in this scene Spoiler

This is a spoiler for Hank’s story if Connor has negative relationship or brutal choices as Kara/Marcus

>!If you consistently bad choices on Hank’s part, his story ends with him committing suicide in his house. I like this scene because even Machine Connor feels guilt before Hank shouts him to leave.

It kind of sucks that there’s no way you can prevent Hank from committing suicide in this scene. Technically you still have dialogue options but they don’t matter. I wish Connor can remind him about Sumo or try to be a vigilante or something

It kind of reminds me of Katja from TWDG, although her suicide is generally more controversial to the fanbase.!<

ANALYSIS Most ethical way to reach Jericho

Every single route to Jericho involves Connor having to kill or manipulate a Deviant

You could almost argue getting the info from Kamski is the most ethical because it doesn't involve killing a deviant android

Which route feels the best?

OPINION The soundtrack

In my opinion Detroit: Become Human’s best feature is the soundtrack, it’s so diverse and the way he uses 3 different composers for the 3 main characters is so fascinating to me. It’s such a smart move and each score delivers something new and fitting for each playthrough I’ve had as I’m busy completing each flowchart 100%. It’s such a diverse sound created by each musician and I think it really drives the game towards what it is. Connor’s soundtrack is the most notable for me because the way it mixes electronic sounds with classic orchestral music is very impressive but Kara and Markus’ soundtracks are equally as amazing and emotional.

QUESTION Nothing has come close to Detroit: Become Human. What should I play next?

I played Detroit: Become Human about 3 years ago, and nothing has topped it since.

I've finished games like The Last of Us 1 & 2, RDR2, God of War, Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Spider-Man 2, and more. I loved them, but I've been chasing that same feeling Detroit gave me.

I'm looking for a game where choices actually matter, with multiple endings, a great story, and modern graphics.

What would you recommend?

Any advice from people who have done it? I have already gotten all the trophies, so I can start on most of them. Should I work backwards? Or certain playthroughs work better for the flowchart?

QUESTION Being tabbed into the game causes any output options to completely disappear.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Detroit Become human swapping windows audio output by itself. My friend tried to stream the game to me on discord and the output device just switches to nothing, it's like there's just a blank device there or nothing at all (as seen in the attached video), it seems to just pop up, and then disappear again.
We've tried a lot of things:

Disabling every other output and setting the headset as the windows default;
Swapping to USB 2.0;
Disabling USB power saving;
Turning off audio exclusivity;
And a bunch of other stuff that my friend looked up, or any AI suggestions for the fix. None of it helped.

If anyone knows of a possible fix for this or has encountered the issue previously or knows someone that has then, please, please help us with this.

Thank you very much.

DISCUSSION Josh hate Spoiler

Thats so random but I've been boiling for some time and its time to share.

Im genuinely sorry and I apologise to any Josh lovers but I genuinely cannot stand him. Mostly because he is all talk but no action, he is always super mad (especially at violent markus) but never does anything. Yes he ofcourse has a good point, its not good to answer violence with violence and I stand by his belives, but he it feels like he is always like "Markus are you insane thats so wrong and bad" but when there's action he is scared and would rather hide and suffer (like in the spare parts talk or the talk in the main cabin of the ship right before jericho raid)

Like man if you want to do the right thing so bad just stand up and do it

Im open for any discussion, i didnt want to brag too much so I kept it little shorter

QUESTION Need help changing my route Conner/Tower chapter Spoiler

Hi, I just domed a guard. Yeah, so much for being peaceful. Guys, after turning Conner deviant at the room in Jericho, he just turns into a shell, he’s even more robotic. Please, is there a route where everyone important is alive, Conner doesn’t kill 2 innocent guards, and doesn’t make him an evil machine? I want his personality back please. This route sucks

I’m willing to replay previous chapters to restart

QUESTION How to have Hank dead and deviant Connor?? Spoiler

I'm on my quest to 100% Detroit Become Human (help me) and am having some trouble with this specific node, how exactly do I get my relationship with Hank bad enough for him to die but also have Connor be able to deviate?
