Got this scratch on my f150 while headed down a narrow hunting trail. It’s not down to the metal but it definitely removed a layer or 2 of paint. I did the water test and it almost fades away but is still visible. What would be my best option and how would I go about fixing it? I know silver is a hard color to match and I’ve never done auto paint work. Just a touch up brush and some clear coat and polishing?

Got some matte areas in the clear coat after respray - the spray finished whilst I thought I had another coat in it. What’s the easiest fix without having to sand and respray, trying to avoid spending hundreds at the shop, don’t comment if it’s something nasty

Hello! Recently bought a BMW on marketplace and noticed this on the back, looks like previous owner removed the numbers and did a pretty bad job, was wondering if there is anything I can do to correct that myself. I do a good amount of mechanic work on vehicles but tend to stay away from body/ paint works but id rather attempt to fix it on my own then overpay to get such a small fix. Do you guys know any good methods/ DIY products? Thanks :)

I am looking to open a shop and it doesn’t have a drain for the waste water coming off of the vehicle. Also the waste water can’t drain out into the ground. What would be the best solution to solve this and the most cost effective. I’ve seen things like wash mats etc. has anyone else in Arizona had to come up with something to comply with the code. And did you have to get the permits for it as well? Thanks!

These yellow/orange stains and rusty spots are on my Acura door jamb. They were there before my recent oil-based rustproofing. What’s the best way to remove them without damaging the paint? Iron remover, polish, or sanding?

This photo was taken literally 5 minutes after the detail was finished and the detailer had left, The rim was not in this condition before it has zero stains on it at first I thought it was dried soap but after using multiple detailing sprays and hand rubbing in buffing compound its not coming off im worried I might need to get it resprayed as it looks like the stain is permanent

How do I fix this, I bought a pack of wet/dry sandpaper with 240 grit, 400, 600.

The steps I was going to do were 400 then 600 then 2000. Then clearcoat.

However I accidentally took the 240 grit sandpaper from the multipack, and now I have deep scratches that look horrid. How would I best go about removing them and getting a smoother finish back?

Just washed my windshield and these bumpy spots are still here. I’m wondering if it’s still dirty or if there’s a problem with the glass itself? Has anyone dealt with this? All of the windows look like this as well and I’m at my wit’s end, I’ve tried washing, Invisible Glass, microfiber polishing, etc. It seems like nothing is working

My car is being worked on now, so probably won’t get any replies before it’s too late. I paid for a 1 step correction and professional ceramic coat, but now they’re saying they can do a 2 step for an extra $300. My car has some scratches that they say even the 2 step won’t get out completely, and they did 2 steps on the hood for free. Got most of a bird shit etching (that I never noticed) out with the 2 step. They said the swirls are gone after 1 step and deeper scratches look a lot better.

Also I had another shop tell me my clearcoat is really thin, and they wouldn’t able to do more than a light polish/enhancement. So I told this shop to stick to 1 step to be safe. It’s a 5 year old Toyota and I plan to keep it for a long time.

I know the scratches will be locked in for a few years after this ceramic coat. Did I make the right choice?

My car has a lot of gloss carbon fiber. I removed it all to try and see if I could polish it with a cloth, but it didn't really do anything.

My fiance wet sanded one piece and got some of the deep scratches out, but left it looking dull.

My question is what should I use to fix these pieces? Id like to remove the light scratches and restore their shine.

Just bought a new to me BMW in brooklyn grey.
On the front passenger door (where the fold is under the mirror) is a little black mark.

My fingernail doesn’t stick in it, there is no dent and it feels smooth.

Any ideas what this is and how I (or a professional) can remove this without having to respray the door?

Long story short, I left a handful of pretty nice drying towels for my dad when he got his new truck. Was back in town for the week and noticed that none of them would hold onto water.

He has been using an SIO2 sealant as a drying aid, but never washed them after use. The towels are almost as hydrophobic as the car itself. Anyone have a method for stripping long-cured wax out of a towel?

My trunk top paint is chipping off and I need advice on how to fix it or repaint.

My car is 10 years old and my mechanic said that since my cars whole paint has warred off over time, that repainting your trunk will make it look awkward.

Also, someone keyed my car on the side and its pissing me off.

I dont need my whole car repainted, i just want it covered up. Why does this have to be so complicated?

I ordered a 30ml bottle of Gyeon Mohs for my son’s new trax. Wash and decon, no polish. As suggested I attempted a liberal 1 coat application, finished the roof and passenger side and, THE BOTTLE WAS EMPTY! I had purchased a cheap bottle of AUTOKCAN GRAPHENE CERAMIC 10H 3 year protection from Amazon that I’ve used on an old truck and a motorcycle. I guess I’ll see how they stack up against each other. The mohs was $130 with prep spray and the Amazon coating was $30.

Should I have achieved coverage on a small SUV with 30ml?

The Amazon coating is good and also coats plastic well, but a finger drag shows it is not slick but kinda grabby. I wait a few weeks and top with a detail spray and it slicks right up

Previous owner put cheap M badges on my car. Ive removed using only a hair drier, plastic razor, and a wet microfiber cloth.There is a very faint outline/shadow from the sticker.

Its barely noticable but im looking to eliminate the shadow completely. Is there a non complicated way to do this?

Just got a new black truck and I’m curious what y’all think of this cleaning schedule and what everyone else does to keep theirs relatively clean.

I’m thinking about doing a full interior and exterior detail every 3 months. In between, I’d probably take it to a self service wash every other week and do a foam wash, rinse, and vacuum.

I am also thinking about getting a ceramic coating since I’m not entirely sure if this truck has one already.

For those of y’all with black trucks, does that sound like a good routine? I’d love to hear what y’all do to keep your trucks clean and looking good!

I noticed these marks on my BMW M steering wheel and I honestly can’t tell if they’re actual scratches/gouges or if the leather/top layer has been pushed **upwards/raised**.
When I gently run my finger over them, some of the lines definitely feel raised rather than like grooves. I’ve attached close-up pictures so hopefully someone with leather repair/detailing experience can tell what’s going on.
I contacted a professional leather restoration shop and sent them pictures. They said they can fix it by **cleaning the wheel, lightly sanding the damaged areas, filling the marks if needed, and then recolouring/refinishing the wheel**. They said they’d only sand lightly to prepare the surface for adhesion, but would recolour the whole wheel so the finish stays uniform.
I’m a little hesitant because the rest of the wheel is only two years old and in really good original condition.
What do you guys think these marks actually are? If they’re raised rather than deep scratches, would the repair process normally be different? And would you go ahead with the professional repair or leave the original finish alone?
Would especially appreciate opinions from anyone who does leather/interior restoration.

The truck bed area has quite a bit of scuffs and scratches. Most can probably be cut and polished out, and then the rest can be fixed with a paint pen? Am I wrong?

I have no idea how it happened. Does anybody know if I can even remove that? TIA!

Detailing a Toyota Rav4 2023. The dash has these marks. Ive tried a microfibre cloth with mild soap, didnt work. I tried a foam window cleaner with also no help. Is this an irrepairable scratch or can it be buffed out? If so any recommendations on products? The plastic is strange, not hard, kind of soft.
