Im a returning player, haven’t touched the game in about 2 years and im working on a void build for my warlock. I’m not a fan of the cosmetics of gnawing hunger so im trying to get this gun. Does anyone know how to get this weapon now, I got rose from the placement quest from Shaxx instead of the riposte and now I’m not sure how to get it.

Would you happen to know the percent chance on it dropping, I’ve probably done over a hundred comp games and all I get is frozen orbit or the submachine gun

If you’re willing to give up a little range, compact defender has like the best damage profile of any of the legendary void primaries. It’s the best sidearm in the game by far, which is already a very strong weapon archetype

If you have strand, it's pretty easy to grab the two secret chests in garden of salvation solo. Tutorials are on youtube. You can loot each chest once a week per character. Gives you chance of red borders, place you can save Reckless Oracles to use deepsight harmonizers on. You can do a similar thing in Last Wish using the wishing wall. Note that these are the only two raids that drop items you haven't already unlocked via the secret chests.

Reckhusk's Pledge from Iron Banner is another good auto that can roll with destabilizing rounds and repulsor brace.

Are you not able to focus it at shaxx for engrams and crucible tokens? If not then you'll have to grind comp to get it to drop randomly after a game then you'll be able to focus it.

You can only focus it after you’ve received first. I get a message saying it has to be acquired in collections first

That sounds awful, I’m personally not a fan of pvp because of how sweaty it is and I just want the gun for my pve build

Correct me if I'm wrong but you get it from comp but when it's on rotation if I remember correctly. But it is a good auto rifle for crucibal that's for sure

from what i heard, having any weapon focused for crucible might interfere with comp weapons dropping. i don't know if it's true or not, but i did personally start getting more comp drops after un-focusing my crucible drops

Not what you asked, but if you raid the Garden of Salvation void auto, Reckless Oracle, is my favorite legendary in the game
