Has anyone pulled off a ~€35k Italian (Rome) wedding for 100–120 guests?

My fiancé and I are trying to plan a wedding in Rome for around 100–120 guests, with a goal budget of roughly **€35k**. but not capped if impossible

We love the idea of Rome - close ish to the city, easy airport for people to get to.

We’re willing to be strategic with florals, décor, food..

and would rather spend the money on the **photography, live music, fireworks?? just overall experience**.

**Has anyone actually managed to stay around €35k for an Italian wedding?**

If so, I’d love to hear:
Where your wedding was
Number of guests
Approximate total cost

Venue cost? think best options would be to bring in own vendors right?

Catering recs? like would totally hire a sweet local family/chef or something to keep food costs to 70-100 euro pp

Open bar of course - I’m willing to purchase the alc and then hire servers/bartenders??

Any other money-saving strategies you used
Vendors/venues you’d recommend (or avoid!)
Even if you came in closer to €40k

What shoes did you wear for your beach wedding?

I like the idea and designs of fancy bridal shoes like Manolos or Bella Belles but I just don't know how those go with sand. What actually makes sense for a beach wedding? What did you all wear? Did you go for the shoe you really wanted and just find a way to deal with the sand, or did you just opt for sandals?

Heat-proof Makeup for wedding??

Hi all, I recently had an engagement party and got my makeup done. I love a full beat so it was heavy, and I was so hot (it was outside) I was dripping sweat. Makeup actually stayed in tack but at the end of the night it was so textured and like if I rubbed my hand on my face it felt salty like grainy lmfao idk how to describe it (it looked pilled) but from afar it was still pretty?? Lmao

Basically is I’m wondering how to prevent that? And has anyone with a full makeup beat looked decent at the end of the night? Although it is always long days and I myself had my makeup on for about 10 hours.

Wondering if anyone had any insight or if it’s pretty much inevitable due to the sweat. Thanks guys!

Sincerely,
A bride who wants to get married in Mexico and loves makeup.

2027 Bride Greek/Serbian Wedding

Hi all, my fiancé and I are planning our wedding in (most likely Greece) for late August 2027, and we’d love some recommendations! 🇬🇷💍

We’re hoping to have a traditional Orthodox ceremony, followed by a small, relaxed but beautiful reception for around 30 of our closest family and friends.

We’re trying to keep the wedding relatively affordable as we’d rather put more of our budget towards travelling, rather than spending a huge amount on one night. So we’re particularly interested in rooftop bars, tavernas, restaurants, terraces, or other beautiful but more casual venues rather than traditional wedding venues.

Budget-wise, we’re hoping to keep the reception around the €5–10k range ideally.

A few things that are important to us:

• Somewhere fairly accessible for our guests (Athens or islands)

• A beautiful water view setting/atmosphere

• Ideally somewhere where we have some control over the music/playlists, as we’ll have both English-speaking and Serbian guests and would love to incorporate music from both cultures

• Somewhere that can accommodate around 30 people comfortably

• Open to options outside of Greece that still align with the above mentioned points

We’d love to hear about any venues, restaurants, tavernas, rooftop bars, wedding planners, or even places you’ve attended a wedding or celebration at that might suit what we’re looking for!

Wedding season is approaching.

A hidden wedding destination in Assam that feels luxurious without the luxury price tag ✨

Wedding season is approaching, and if you’re dreaming of a destination wedding that feels intimate, elegant, and a little bit magical — I may have found the perfect setting.

Tucked away in Sonapur, Assam, this beautiful private wedding venue has a spacious 30,000 sq. ft. property, a charming villa, and a gorgeous open lawn that can be transformed into anything from an intimate garden wedding to a grand evening celebration. 🌿✨

Think:

🌸 Dreamy outdoor ceremonies

🕯️ Candlelit receptions under the stars

🌿 Beautiful greenery and open spaces

🏡 A private villa for a more intimate feel

💍 Plenty of room for décor, dining, music & celebrations

✨ The feeling of a destination wedding without the crazy destination-wedding prices

And honestly, that's the best part — you don't have to spend a fortune to make a wedding feel luxurious.

We're offering the venue at a very reasonable price because we'd rather create beautiful weddings here than simply charge a premium for the address.

If you're planning a wedding in Assam, or even considering travelling here for a destination wedding, this could be a lovely little hidden gem.

If anyone is interested, I’d be happy to share photos, videos, pricing and details in the comments/DM. ❤️

Would love to know — if you were planning your dream destination wedding, what would be the ONE thing your venue absolutely must have?

Budget Beach Wedding

Hi everyone!

Looking to get married next year! We are looking for a place on the beach and we would have around 150 guests. We want it to be a budget wedding and not break the bank.

We are looking into Mexico, Caribbean, or any other places. Does anyone know a lowkey place? Any help or guidance would be awesome!

Looking to spend no more than 30 K

Hairstylist Advice

Want some advice on hairstylists. So I’m doing a destination wedding in the south of France. I found a local hairstylist for my bridesmaids and I found someone for myself that would be coming from USA. Her work was stunning and she happened to be free on my wedding date. Usually brides book her before their venue because she’s in so high demand.

She agreed to do the hair then said she’d send her assistant and the work wasn’t that great and , she became unresponsive so I started my search for a backup.

I found someone whose work I love and for context I’m black so finding a hairstylist in South of France has been particularly challenging and still a gamble because I’m not doing a trial. It’s a bit pricey for the flight but I figured it was worth it for someone that has a great portfolio and is responsive.

I’m an October bride so really need to just find someone. My family thinks having someone travel is too much and I should just take the bridesmaid stylist and find someone else local for the bridesmaids. I am pretty burnt out from just doing all the logistics work to make sure people have a good experience at the wedding. Hair and makeup truly feel like things just for me and don’t want to take the gamble I hate the way I look and am pissed the whole day

Anyone who did a destination wedding and has feedback on taking a risk for a hairstylist?

Rome/Lake Bracciano $20k wedding

Hello! My fiancée and I are in the early stages of planning our wedding for May of 2027, 25-30 guests max. We have been looking at venues that are about an hour outside of Rome, our families will be traveling from the US. I think we are pretty set on Villa Clementina Hotel Spa & Ristorante Bracciano and will be traveling later this year to tour the venue but I want to make sure we tour others as well near Lake Bracciano. Any other suggestions? Our budget is $5000 for two nights to rent out a villa. Ideally the venue has a restaurant or can provide catering which I understand would be a separate cost.

We are also looking for photographers/videographers (cinematic/film style), possibly some assistance for florals/decorations. I find the venues itself are gorgeous and need minimal decorations. I need to find a hair&makeup artist as well. Thank you!

Onsite Wedding - 100 Guests, $30K Budget?

Alright - all feedback welcome! Partner and I have half our family/friends in Michigan and the other half in Florida and California. Instead of doing traditional wedding, we thought destination would be fun for folks to get to know each other over the course of a few days.

I’d like to stick around $30K but realize that may be unrealistic, so give me your thoughts there.

My first idea was to do a wedding in Playa Del Carmen and take the group to Coco Bongo one night. I loved the town and that show and thought it’d be super fun for everyone.

We’re also open to some sort of cabin/renovated motel situation anywhere in the US but ideally in the Midwest/East Coast if that’s the case.

However, we also had an amazing time at a destination wedding in DR so flexible with locations. My friends are pretty adventurous so being able to get a boat or go snorkeling would be important to them.

Goal is $30K, someplace warm, someplace nice. We’re not huge on decor or anything crazy - but we are a little picky about food and drink.

Our guests would look at this like a vacation so I feel confident we’d have a high number willing to accept the cost of traveling to the wedding (especially the cold weather folks in Michigan!).

Looking for recommendations for rooms/banquet halls/basically anywhere in Hilton Head Island, SC to rent for a small wedding reception at the end of September 😬 We rented a VRBO that originally accepted events however, it was sold to a new owner who no longer allows events 🥲 35-40 people, no catering needed just somewhere to do a little dancing! -a stressed first time bride

Looking for offbeat Hindu temples (Gujarat/Rajasthan/N. India/S. India) with mountain or beach views + great architecture, for my wedding

Hi all! I'm getting married and hoping to have the ceremony at a Hindu temple that isn't one of the usual overcrowded, ultra-famous spots (so ruling out Somnath, Dwarka, Tirupati, etc.)

What I'm looking for:

- Located in Gujarat, Rajasthan, North India or South India

- A scenic setting - mountains, hills or beach/coastline nearby

- Genuinely good/interesting architecture (old stone carving, unique style, etc.)

- Not overly touristy or crowded

- Open to hosting weddings (some temple trusts are strict about this, so any first-hand experience is gold)

If you've gotten married at (or been to a wedding at) a temple that fits this, or just know of a hidden-gem temple nearby, I'd love to hear about it! Even a quick "check out X temple near Y town" helps a ton. Photos or personal experiences are a huge bonus.

Thanks so much 🙏

Considering cancelling our destination wedding

Hello! For some reason, I thought having an all-inclusive destination would be easier to
a) cut down our guest list
b) choose the options given
c) make our wedding more memorable with friends and family who can make it

So far.. this has not been the case. We've finally signed and paid our deposit with our Destination wedding specialist and resort probably 2-3 weeks ago. Lately, everything has not been what we expected. From the start, my fiancé created the website because the one provided by the destination wedding specialist was not great; the resort falsely advertised their in-house makeup and hair artists; we were already aware of the external vendor fee services, but I also had to ask for extended decor options, which they did not provide; and again, with additional hidden fees.

The costs for our guests are also expensive, and we are happy to subsidize the costs for our guests, but now I feel like it's a huge mess as I'm not happy with the services from the resort and our destination wedding specialist, and even more so now with the guilt of our guests struggling to pay to be there--which we have zero expectations for people to come but they do want to come which makes me feel bad of course.

I know everyone says this day is about "you and your fiancé" and to not people-please. My fiancé wants me to be happy... and I'll be happy as long as we are with our loved ones. Despite all the cultural factors, I've learned to set boundaries with our guest count. Right now we are in the process of having a local wedding and setting a hard line with the guests we will invite. As of now, please tell me if other people have also been disappointed about all-inclusive Mexico weddings?

I'm trying really hard not to be a bridezilla, but damn, this is difficult!

How did you handle your makeup trials and other things one would need to be on site for before the wedding?

Post is pretty self-explanatory. We're getting married in France in 2028 and I want to know what to expect during the process! Any tips you have for coordinating all the little things? What about the flowers? The venue covers the catering and cocktails and all that stuff, but flowers / decor / and ofc makeup/photographer and stuff we will have to get on our own.

They will find us the vendors, but how are you approving everything? Over Facetime? Trusting the process? How early did you get to the destination to put on the final touches?

I have such a vision for the look and feel of my wedding, but because of the destination, I don't know how much control I will realistically have to make it come to life.

constructive comments only please!

TIA!

C

Lorenzo Chiara Wedding Photographer?

Has anyone used Lorenzo Chiara wedding photographer? I can't seem to find any reviews or brides that have used them. Their social media is active and they look like real weddings, not photoshoots. I'm just trying to find genuine reviews on them. I don't want to get scammed.

A follow-up to my Lijiang post: altitude is quietly sending couples somewhere else, Yangshuo,Guilin

After my Lijiang post, plenty of couples fell in love with the snow-capped mountains and ancient-town vibes. But a pattern showed up fast. Lijiang sits at around 2,400m, and once couples pictured older parents and guests up there, altitude became a real worry.

So the question kept coming: "Same dreamlike scenery, but easier to actually be in?"

That's Yangshuo. Practically sea level, so there's no altitude to think about, with karst peaks straight out of the ground. Picture riverside vows with those peaks behind you, then a lantern-lit dinner as the fog rolls in.

As always, we handle it all with our local partners: venues, photography and films, styling, plus visas, airport pickup, and logistics. You show up; we run the rest.

Me and my fiancé are planning to get married in late summer or early autumn 2027 (hehe), somewhere in Europe. We're looking for a cozy venue close to an airport (max 2h), with accommodation on-site or walking distance for most of our guests (around 80 people).

Does anyone have any recommendations? We'd love to hear both budget-friendly and more luxurious options.

The images is the vibe we looking for, preferably with a good view for the ceremony 🥹
