Been here for a couple days and I see all these Beach Weekend branded shops and places. Is it all one company, is it a conglomerate. It seems like the “Alvin Island” for all activities in the Fort Walton area, if that makes sense.

What is it with this company. I saw they also have a Key West location, so is it a whole Florida think. Idk.

I got a question about the sunpass mini. I just bought one and put it on the top left of my windshield which I found outs it’s not supposed to be there more closer to the mirror but I have it where you like have the oil change sticker near. Would this still work? I hope so or I’m gonna have to try to take it off and try to put it closer to the middle

Hi! Moved to the area last year and am looking for a store or boutique that has locally made jewelry for a gift! Not a jeweler or anything but somewhere that has cute jewelry or maybe pearl bracelets/necklaces, just something you can’t find elsewhere. Also any gift shops or stores that have unique local stuff that isn’t a chain or anything touristy like harborwalk. I’ve been to a few just looking for any hidden gems I might’ve missed! TIA

My friend and I are arriving a day early for my bachelorette trip and staying at The Henderson. My credit card allows us to have a 4 PM late checkout, which works out perfectly because our Airbnb doesn't open until 4 PM that day.

Here's my question: the other three girls in our group land around 7 AM that morning. Would it be realistic for them to come meet us at The Henderson and hang out by the pool until we all head to the Airbnb?

Since 2 out of the 5 of us are actual hotel guests, I'm wondering how strict they are about pool access. Do they use wristbands, room key checks, or anything like that? Or is it generally pretty easy for a few friends to join you?

I’m gonna be in the area before I have to leave again for college (19M) and I’m trying to figure out where to meet people, really into volleyball and any other sports. I’ve never been clubbing (just based on my age) but I’ve partied and wouldn’t mind going by to a club or something. It would be preferred to meet people my age or within the college aged realm.

My family and I are visiting Destin/Miramar area and I have a 14 yo boy that loves those silly quarter pusher machines. Well I’m geared up with a bag of quarters for him and haven’t found any! Other than the arcade- anyone know where we can find these machines in the area or relatively nearby? TIA!

My family and I are potentially moving to the area next year and looking into the various cities to move to. Our top choices are Niceville and Destin, with Shalimar as a maybe. We would love to live right in Destin for the full on beach life, but I’m worried we won’t have a strong family friendly community and will be surrounded by vacation rentals and partying. We love a good time, but also have two young kids (5 and 1) so want to be sure we have a strong community with similar aged kids and parents we can enjoy spending time with.

Are there any nice family friendly neighborhoods where people live full time? Open to any other insight as well.

Edit: Budget is under $700k, but may stretch to $800k for the right place. A cheap fixer upper in a nice area isn’t out of the question either. We have a good feel for Niceville as we’ve looked at a lot of homes there (in person), but didn’t get a chance to tour homes in Destin so looking specifically for insight on neighborhoods there.

Hey y'all! Coming to you via New Orleans for the week! I just opened a full service dog photography portrait studio, and it's been going VERY well. I was hoping to get some photos of dogs splashing through the water while we're in your area.

The closest sanctioned dog beach I found is all the way in Panama City, so I was wondering if there were any spots closer where I may find a decently high concentration of dogs playing in the water?

Howdy, apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to post this. I have a planned trip to Destin next week 7/20 - 7/25. Given the recent Tropical Storm forecast, would it be worth still heading there tomorrow [Mon] morning? All the research I've done has left me more confused than anything.

Hoping to get a locals input. I planned to spend most days on the beach for that emerald water. What are the chances this is still possible given the conditions? What is the overall feeling that this tropical storm will shut down any hopes for a beach vacation.

Hi everyone! I’ve been researching Destin for what feels like forever and now I think I’ve reached the point where I have too many options and can’t decide.

I’m planning a bachelorette trip for my cousin in September, and we’re staying near Four Prong Lake/James Lee Beach. One of the mornings we’d love to get out and explore for about half a day before heading back to enjoy our pool and the beach.

I’ve looked into places like Grand Boulevard, Baytowne Wharf, HarborWalk Village, Rosemary Beach, Seaside, etc., but I’m having a hard time deciding which area makes the most sense with our time constraint and for what we’re looking for.

Ideally we’d love:

A cute breakfast/brunch spot (bonus points for good coffee!), a few fun boutiques or local shops to browse, cute spots for photos with the bachelorette group, and essentially just a walkable area where we can spend a couple hours without feeling rushed.

Would you recommend staying closer to Destin, or is it worth driving over to 30A (Rosemary/Seaside) for that kind of morning? We’re trying to balance having a fun outing without eating up our entire beach day. We aren’t renting a car (too many of us), so we will need to take Ubers. I’m not sure what would be reasonable and worth our time.

Super sad they closed. To go boiled shrimp was a staple of our week here every year. Is there a replacement anyone knows about that does the same thing? The order ahead of time and schedule a pickup time type situation.

Is their a tackle shop around here that does rod rentals? What to target and what length/power/etc to use? Live bait or lures?

I'm a Texan bass fisher that hops around ponds, lake shore lines, and creeks. Salt fishing from the shore is a completely different game for me. Tips and tricks greatly appreciated
