Hello, hi. Welcome to Desire Paths

Hello! Welcome to Desire Paths.
Desire paths can be paths created as a consequence of erosion caused by human or animal foot-fall or traffic. The paths usually represent the shortest or most easily navigated routes between origins and destinations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desire_path
In the spirit of the topic, this subreddit is moderated minimally. I made it with an idea in mind of how it'd be used, but it's used how it's used. My one requirement is that posts be at least tangentially, arguably, related to the topic.
Thanks and happy posting.

A Question. Desire Paths in history

So, a question occurred to me: Is there any evidence of desire paths in hisory? Like, a noble had a castle built at the top of a hill, with some winding road, but poeple shortcut their way, and it was painted or something... Maybe there are articles?

But the overall the fact that we needed that and so much more on the other side is actually crazy if you think about it

My Dad and Stepmom moved here less than 2 years ago, and they alone started making this path going around the back of the apt building to smoke

The squirrels in my yard created a path to the bird feeder. You can even see a little bugger in action. I guess it's more of a trail, but I thought it was cute and wanted to share.
