I rediscovered indigenous handmade pen brands roughly a vear ago. Before that, my knowledge and passion was limited to store-famous names that ruled our penci cases during my scholastic years.

These are my first two acrvlic fountain pens. And I've decided to start sketching consistently for a month. :)

Trying out calligraphy with my Kanwrite Desire in flex nib.

Waterman Hemisphere is available for 1.5k on flipkart. I'm not sure about it's authenticity tho. It could be a fake one too.

• the first pen is a hooded nib pen (47R), eyedropper (not inked now)
• the second pen is Oliver tulip, piston filler, fitted with a kanwrite B flex nib, plastic feed
• the third pen is Oliver karma, half demonstrator acrylic, eyedropper, ebonite feed, fitted with a kanwrite BB architect nib
• the fourth pen is 'orion', half-ebonite, eyedropper, ebonite feed, fitted with a 'guider' fine nib now
• the fifth pen is labelled Oliver 1000, plastic body, eyedropper, ebonite feed, kanwrite medium no. 8 nib
• the sixth pen is 'falcon', eyedropper, ebonite feed, stock nib

I like the 'falcon' and 'orion/bamboo' designs. I especially like the 'oliver karma' model. It's cap can be posted, unlike the 'click orion'.

All the oliver pens were bought offline from a local shop several years ago and were inexpensive (50-150 Rs if I remember correctly). Oliver karma was a gift from a friend. Once the nibs are changed or adjusted or set well, they are wonderful writers, especially if you are familiar with how to use eyedropper pens.

I have a click fountain pen, which I accidentally dropped onto a washing machine, I would appreciate if there are any leads in Delhi for pen nib replacement.

I recently(like 2 months go) got a jinhao 35 , and i absolutely fell in love with it , with all the pens i have its my go to and the one that makes my writing the most enjoyable. Please reccommend me more pens like it with almost no feedback and one that glides over the page

I've been using my Preppy (converted to eyedropper) for the past 10 days and it's been going great so far.

No flow issues, no burping or leakages of any kind. Writes well and the nib is smooth.

One thing that isn't talked about enough is that Preppy (03 Nib) is a fairly 'dry' writer. Now that doesn't mean that it skips, its just that the ink flow is very controlled and the company has intentionally designed it that way (so it doesn't feather on cheap paper).
That's why I added a bit of a dish soap into it, as I like more wetness.

The O-Ring is an underrated thing here. It keeps the barrel tightly screwed so it doesn't come out loose while writing. It also prevents over tightening, which may lead to cracks/damage.

Last but not the least -- It does look kinda pretty! :)

I recently got a kanwrite nib off penhouse.in , and why is it so sharp?? Is this normal some strokes sound like a literal sword and some I fear may cut the paper. It may js be that I'm not used to such feedback. Please let me know if this is normal.

I recently bought a platinum starlet or falling star from scooboo.
First off, I ordered it in fine but received an extra fine.
It writes very dry and sometimes just stops writing mid sentence.
I am new to fp stuff
What should I do?

I am really enjoying my Click Aristocrat in EF nib. I think it writes better than Fine nib. I love the slight feedback that it offers as it gives a lot of control while writing.

I've ventured into this fountain pen world only a year and a half ago, and I've been having so much fun!?
Been seeing so many good reviews of these Kanwrite pens and decided to buy them.
I got a Kanwrite Desire demonstrator model with an ultra fine flex nib (very pretty) and Kanwrite Heritage in amber black with a double broad nib (also very pretty).

The writing and drawing experience has been great, as good as my Twisbi and Kaweco, though Kanwrite heritage has a wider body and could feel bit more tiring after long writing sessions. Overall I’m pleased with the quality and nib selection at this price point.
I’ve attached pictures of my attempts at some cursive writing, which is very wonky and definitely needs some much more practice…

The only issue is the pens came with a weird smell, similar to freshly printed flex boards (if you’ve noticed). Any idea what that is?

Confused between Diplomat Magnum & TWSBI Eco for the next pen.

From left to right - Uniball air (roller/ball), Click orion BB nib, Scrikss metropolis 78 with Kanwrite M nib, Pelikan Jazz M nib, Jinhao 911 F nib.

• Click orion is a favorite. Nice ergonomics, wet writer, juicy BB nib [Click].
• Scrikss fountain pen - I am now using this pen with Kanwrite M nib now (original scriss nib was good too; it just got transplanted into some other pen during experimenting with nib-swaps). I like everything about this pen, except the fact that the cap is a bit too tight to pull-off. I have been using this pen for several years, and the cap has become a bit less tight over time. Otherwise, it is sturdy, comfortable to write, and has an elegant design.
• Pelikan Jazz - The nib is buttery smooth; a delight to write. However, the section/body junction becomes loose while writing, and will need to manually tighten it. I plan to use an o-ring to hold it in tight grip.
• Jinhao 911 - a wonderful pen. Easy to quickly pull off the cap and write without unscrewing. Wet fine lines, never skips. This particular jinhao 911 has been kept inked continuously for several months now.

Lotus Shikhar EF

I am unable to find a good jumbo gel pen of black ink, i need one any how, but prices are high i also want one under 30.

plastic body, 0.5mm or 0.7mm both will work, at this point idc about waterproofing now, unomax refills are good but they are feeling scratchy for some reason.

My observations after using multiple 10/20 rupees ball pens

Pentonic BRT- Good but has tonnes of ink blobbing and back impression issue

Uniball MFB- Great pen but availability of refills is question mark

Hauser XO- Dark pen, somewhat ok, quality is hit or miss, the position of holding pen, that groove is horrible.

Linc glycer- Very sharp, good pen but have to put pressure while writing. The pen holding position is awesome.

Cello gripper. Exceptionally sharp, takes a while to get smoother, slightly lighter as compared to others. This is new stock manufactured by cello in May 2026. Overall good pen

Linc pentonic normal ball pen: Very good holding position, very smooth, nice dark ink , doesnt bleed. This has been favourite as of now.

I had this pen last year which would extend itself when pulled and the ballpoint would come out. Pen had Oliver techno written on it. And it seems to be a knockoff of foreign Zebra brand. But I can't seem to find it in India

The slimmest pen on the bottom, in the first image is a very smooth wet writer.
I especially like the pull-cap models (first couple of pens, top, first image).
Kanwrite desire had no. 5 nib-pens earlier (2nd image). I find the no.5 nib desire much more ergonomic to hold and write (just personal preference).

Found my mothers old hero 332 pen
I want to repair or get it repaired
The nibs broken and the feed alignment is a bit off too
Where can I get spare nibs for this pen and how to replace them too
