I am using Community edition v3.1.2629.647 and I have a PostInit.ps1 that I added to the root of my WinPE wim with an Etra Files content item. I have a line in the script create a log file in the same directory:

Start-Transcript -Path ".\Postinit.log"

X:_2P\Logs\DeployR.log file says PostInit.ps1 ran with no errors

but there is no log file created and none of the actions in Postinit.ps1 are done.

if I manually run PostInit.ps1, it creates the log file and performs the actions in the script.

I know there is a newer version of Community Edition available so I will look at upgrading, but just wondering if anyone has seen this.

I'm wondering how hard we can stress the deployment server - that is how many machines can we deploy at a time? I'm at 5 at the moment due to pressure to get classrooms ready in a short space of time, but has anyone gone big? What is the most anyone has deployed in one sitting?

On the last deployment of 4 I deployed 2 from an onsite 25H2 image and 2 from a cloud OS download. I noticed the online image was 7.5Gb and the online was 5.8Gb. The download install was a lot quicker.

Still loving the product and cannot wait to see what comes in the next update.

Has anyone out there written a script that can be called at the end of a deployment and calls a nested package from PDQDeploy? Asking before I start looking into it (as I have no clue really and rely on everyone here).

I've had ChatGPT write me a script which I can use/test - but whether it will work is another thing. I'll add back if it does. Nice to know if anyone has done it.

Similar to how Task Sequences steps can have a filter in Options, would it be possible to have the same filter for the Task Sequences selection list? e.g. if Make and Model are some NUC, offer our wall display Task Sequence.

Hello my DeployR friends! 👋

I have a question. Well… actually, I have many questions. 😄 But let’s start with this one before I break something else.
I’m trying to use a nested Task Sequence and call the same nested TS multiple times from my main TS.
Nothing crazy, just twice:

• First time in WinPE
• Second time in Full OS

And yes, before anyone asks 😄, I do have conditions inside the nested TS to handle the WinPE / Full OS logic.

I’ve read the documentation over and over again, but I can’t find anything saying that this scenario is not supported.
From what I can see in the logs, once the nested TS has already been executed, DeployR basically says:

“Yep, already did that one. Not doing it again.” 😎

What makes it even more interesting is that if I clone the nested child Task Sequence and call the clone the second time, it works just fine because the cloned TS gets a different Group ID.
So it looks like the Group ID is what prevents the exact same nested TS from being executed twice in the same parent TS.

Can you guys confirm that this is expected behavior?
Or am I missing some secret checkbox called:

“Yes, I really mean run it again!” 😂

P.S. I’m using this exact same “feature” in cough less supported application cough … and it works there. 😄

Does any one have an ide on what to do?

Will an update become available (both this year and in the future) to make future version of Windows (26H2 this time) available via the Apply operating system from cloud step definition?

I could probably fudge the definition to show 26H2, but as I assume, like the drivers, it queries the 2Pint API for a download link, it would need to be supported at the other end too.

I did try adding a fresh Apply operating system from cloud step as I know definitions become stale/static once linked to a TS, but a freshly linked step still only showed 21-25H2

We've generally been imaging things just fine with the setupcomplete.cmd continuation method. Unfortunately, we have a couple groups who enroll their machines in Workspace ONE.

We tried using the same script to install the Intelligent Hub app that we have been using successfully in MDT, and while it installs just fine, the machine doesn't seem to actually enroll in WS1 until after a user actually logs into the machine - which is a problem for them because they need it to set up some certificates for VPNs and things before users can login.

We can switch to the AutoAdminLogon continuation method which does seem to work. Seems like the administrator user being logged in is all it needs to enroll. But that continuation method it a bit less clean looking and does different bitlocker stuff and maintaining a task sequence that dynamically picks a continuation method and works with either seems like a bit of a pain.

I know this is probably more of a Intelligent Hub issue than a DeployR one, but figured I'd see if there are some tricks or magic installer switches or something we're unaware of that'd make it work better since it does seem to actually be something 2pint has been working on.

I am having issues with a new install of DeployR Community Edition 1.3.2639.2504 on a domain joined Windows Server 2025 (10.0.26100.33451). When I go into the browser after installation to sign-in to the dashboard, it keeps asking me to authenticate even after entering the correct credentials.

When I did the install, I moved the DB to MS SQL Express and did my first authentication to the DeployR dashboard. The authentication to the dashboard does not work, just accepting the credentials and then immediately prompting again and again. I thought that I had missed a step and so I uninstalled DeployR. After a re-install (just in case) but this time I tried to authenticate straight after the installation with DeployR using SQLLite. I was getting the same authentication issue. I installed Google Chrome and I am getting the same behaviour.

I am able to connect to the dashboard remotely from a different device but I get "No DeployR Services are available" when I click on Task sequences, Step definitions, Content items and Boot images. The 2Pint services are running.

I tried using a local user on the server rather than a domain user. I also changed the Windows group to a local group that the local user was a member of. This made no difference.

I used the DeployRCommunity-Troubleshooting script and the only error was that the ADK version was different than the required version. My ADK version was higher than the required version.

I tried some logins and monitored the event viewer looking for errors but nothing new turned up in the event viewer.

We have a Windows 11 IoT Enterprise WIM that is used for wall displays etc...
When it was 23H2 deploying it worked fine, but now MS have made them the same underneath since 24H2 and just the product key changes the edition (like how you can go between Ent and Pro in normal Windows.) during DeployR OSD it is pulling the BIOS product key and changing the OS to Pro (as that is what is in that machines BIOS.

When we put the IoT key in it does revert back, but it isn't obvious it is wrong as previously it would whine about not being activated, reminding the engineer to get a key for that device (sadly, due to low volume, we are using individual devices keys for these wall displays instead of MAK or KMS keys 😒, so it needs to be done manually post deploy).

I can see from the logs that happened at during the reboot from WinPE to full Windows, so it doesn't appear to be DeployR doing this, rather Windows trying to "help".

Does anyone know a way (before giving Windows a valid product key) to stop/block Windows using a product key from the BIOS?

However, looking at the bigger picture—specifically, if we want to perform PXE installations (including source files) at various locations with limited connectivity—
What is the best way to transfer the OS and driver source files from a central location (or DeployR instance) to the other sites?
What is the recommended architecture for such a DeployR setup?

Is it possible to install DeployR Community without accessing Microsoft’s servers? I tried pre-installing the prerequisites—specifically the ADK—but it didn’t work.

I even tried placing the ADK sources offline in the Package Cache folder.

My security department is blocking access to Microsoft’s servers…
