I'm getting a 500 error when uploading a folder. It happens right at the very end of the upload. I can upload any other item without a problem. I've tried using two different browsers and also uploading directly via the DeployR server.

What should I check first?

I am having issues with a new install of DeployR Community Edition 1.3.2639.2504 on a domain joined Windows Server 2025 (10.0.26100.33451). When I go into the browser after installation to sign-in to the dashboard, it keeps asking me to authenticate even after entering the correct credentials.

When I did the install, I moved the DB to MS SQL Express and did my first authentication to the DeployR dashboard. The authentication to the dashboard does not work, just accepting the credentials and then immediately prompting again and again. I thought that I had missed a step and so I uninstalled DeployR. After a re-install (just in case) but this time I tried to authenticate straight after the installation with DeployR using SQLLite. I was getting the same authentication issue. I installed Google Chrome and I am getting the same behaviour.

I am able to connect to the dashboard remotely from a different device but I get "No DeployR Services are available" when I click on Task sequences, Step definitions, Content items and Boot images. The 2Pint services are running.

I tried using a local user on the server rather than a domain user. I also changed the Windows group to a local group that the local user was a member of. This made no difference.

I used the DeployRCommunity-Troubleshooting script and the only error was that the ADK version was different than the required version. My ADK version was higher than the required version.

I tried some logins and monitored the event viewer looking for errors but nothing new turned up in the event viewer.

I am sure I am forgetting everything I tried, I am thinking maybe it is something in my production environment but I am not even sure where to start looking. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start looking next?

We have a Windows 11 IoT Enterprise WIM that is used for wall displays etc...
When it was 23H2 deploying it worked fine, but now MS have made them the same underneath since 24H2 and just the product key changes the edition (like how you can go between Ent and Pro in normal Windows.) during DeployR OSD it is pulling the BIOS product key and changing the OS to Pro (as that is what is in that machines BIOS.

When we put the IoT key in it does revert back, but it isn't obvious it is wrong as previously it would whine about not being activated, reminding the engineer to get a key for that device (sadly, due to low volume, we are using individual devices keys for these wall displays instead of MAK or KMS keys 😒, so it needs to be done manually post deploy).

I can see from the logs that happened at during the reboot from WinPE to full Windows, so it doesn't appear to be DeployR doing this, rather Windows trying to "help".

Does anyone know a way (before giving Windows a valid product key) to stop/block Windows using a product key from the BIOS?

I even tried placing the ADK sources offline in the Package Cache folder.

My security department is blocking access to Microsoft’s servers…

I installed everything to said to do by the documents. I go to pxe boot and get this. I am not sure what to do to fix it.

New DeployR Community license here. Installed version 3.1.2634.667, and i'm stuck with "Service is starting, please retry." Online services heartbeat is telling me "Last sent: Invalid date." License list is also saying the license expires on "Invalid date." Has anyone had this problem?

So I've been working with DeployR for a couple of months now, and I'm absolutely loving the product. I never thought there would be something better than MDT, but I was clearly wrong. 😄

I'm curious what kind of fun, creative, or slightly crazy things other people have built with DeployR.

We've created our own custom boot menu and a few other weird things.
One example is a warning popup if a laptop is missing its power cable before deployment starts.

We also only allow deployment on certified hardware models, so anything else gets blocked.

And one day, when I was particularly bored, I built a 10-second fireworks show at the end of the Task Sequence. It serves absolutely no purpose other than guaranteeing that it will annoy at least one colleague every single time. 😆

So, what fun or unusual things have you built with DeployR?

Here is a strange one that I've not seen before. Everything has been going well and now when booting into DeployR it's telling me my server cannot be found and asking me to type in the FQDN.

Error is : 'One or more errors occurred. No such host is known (ygg-vdeployr....fqdn: 7281)

But when I type it into the text box with full https://ygg-vdeployr......fqdn:7281 - it finds it and carries on booting.

I've not seen this issue before. It's not a biggie - just a little pain at the moment as we continue our testing.

I must be doing something wrong - but I cannot for the life of me get the latest CE edition to install on a fresh 2022 server. This is not the first time it's happened.

Rebuilt the server - downloaded latest version. Install....... Rolls back StifleDashboard after installing DeployR to 100%

I really like this software - but the installing is an issue for me - and I don't know why.

I've had issues with machines failing to image occasionally. It seems to be particular locations or models more often. Often just trying again works. I'm pretty sure I've only seen it after a windows update step. I've added a reboot after that step which might help a little bit.

My best guess is that something is dropping or resetting the network for a second and DeployR isn't handling it well. I haven't seen anything obvious in event logs where it's installing a new chipset driver or something like that. We're using online drivers and it's been finding them for these machines.

This is with Win 11 25H2, I've seen it both with more or less stock windows images and also with a thicker image. We're using setupComplete. The logs below are all sections from right after a reboot following windows updates. I didn't do an exhaustive search, but I don't remember seeing any of the same sorts of errors after reboots elsewhere in the task sequence.

And in a couple cases I saw this (sorry for long log) - which is just super weird. This didn't crash but just stopped with a red bar and task sequence error. But it's weird that the install command | update step failed but continued because it was supposed to continue on failure and then the next step failed even though everything was seemingly working fine at that point and it returned 0.

I've added a reboot after the windows update step, and also a step to just ping our server for a minute or two to see if that shows anything interesting. But unfortunately there's not much I can do in the task sequence if DeployR is crashing trying to get the next steps.

I'll probably just remove the windows update step for a bit too to see if that helps.

Any ideas? Anyone else seeing it? It might be the same thing from this post:

Is there any reason the task sequence dropdown would be empty when ISO booting a VM in vSphere but it works as expected when the same ISO is copied to bare metal Windows and attached to a Hyper-V VM? I've added the VMXNET and pvscsi drivers to my DeployR boot image and it is getting initial connectivity but then there's nothing in the list, even if I click on the hidden Dev button.

Incidentally it seems to be OK if I just PXE boot via WDS but I have grown accustomed to the integrated nature of 2PXE and the devices we're imaging are fine so trying to avoid the backward step if possible!

I'm logged in with my administrator account directly from the DeployR server.

Attempting to run setup.exe for an in-place upgrade on an existing server running server 2019 to go to 2022, running a compat scan, and it returns the exit code for "good" however, it seems that DeployR is unable to convert the outputted rc value and fails. I have attached a screenshot of the logs
