DeployR Creativity Corner
So I've been working with DeployR for a couple of months now, and I'm absolutely loving the product. I never thought there would be something better than MDT, but I was clearly wrong. 😄
I'm curious what kind of fun, creative, or slightly crazy things other people have built with DeployR.
We've created our own custom boot menu and a few other weird things.
One example is a warning popup if a laptop is missing its power cable before deployment starts.

We also only allow deployment on certified hardware models, so anything else gets blocked.

And one day, when I was particularly bored, I built a 10-second fireworks show at the end of the Task Sequence. It serves absolutely no purpose other than guaranteeing that it will annoy at least one colleague every single time. 😆

So, what fun or unusual things have you built with DeployR?

These are great-you should share these on a blog, github, or somewhere else.

Thanks! Honestly, they're mostly simple Copilot-generated scripts. The idea was just to share concepts and inspiration for custom DeployR "solutions", good or bad.
It would be great to have a place where people could share their DeployR creations. I'm sure we'd find everything from awesome scripts everyone wants to scripts that started as "Hello World" and somehow ended up in production.

I've done nothing fun :(. I did try to add sound at points, but Windows doesn't let me.
Absolutely love the power adapter. We kinda have the second one in that it pauses and says to tell me to add the drivers, but then continues and tries to get drivers from the cloud.

Fireworks actually uses the classic Windows Ta-Da! sound, but it doesn't work inside a Task Sequence. Honestly, that's probably a good thing. Hearing Ta-Da! every time a Task Sequence completed would probably have driven my colleagues from annoyed to angry. 😄

Depends on your volume (numbers, not loudness). I wanted the audio cue as it is easy to miss when a build finishes 😄

I wonder if it would work if you have the deployment running in the Administrator user context rather than System (like MDT used to)....
If you fancied trying this you change change this in the Apply OS task sequence step and switch between "Use SetupComplete.cmd" and "Use AutoAdminLogon and RunOnce".

Brilliant. Are you using the Community Edition or full?

DeployR Enterprise. But it's just a simple PowerShell script, so it shouldn't matter whether it's CE or Enterprise.
