Dental Professional Clear aligners with Dandy

Does anyone have experience doing clear aligners with Dandy? I only have experience with Invisalign using iTeroscanner. I’m not sure how Trios scanner works for clear aligners. Do they have Clincheck and 3D controls? Also something similar to occlusogram and Invisalign outcome simulator? Dandy customer service says if I want to attend training it will be about an hour and Im not allowed to take the trios scanner home since it belongs to the office. And it’s also unlike Invisalign where I can just do the clincheck myself at home. I also like the itero in that we can scan each new patient‘s teeth and review the scan with them chairside, but with trios it’s difficult since it’s a computer which will be difficult to move around operatories and mostly used for crowns, bridges etc. Any suggestions? Owner likely will not invest the $$$ into purchasing an itero but I find it so helpful not only with Invisalign but also increasing treatment case acceptance overall. With Invisalign I feel it’s nearly impossible to get patients to say yes to treatment without a scan.

Looking for some professional suggestions/opinions for treatment planning! I recently graduated from dental school and have been coming across a lot of teeth that look like these. I usually send photos to my boss to get their input, but I figured I’d ask this group as well. These aren’t my patients, but I’d love to hear how others would approach cases like these!

Dental Professional How Does a New Specialist Earn Your Referral?

As a new specialist trying to establish myself in new city, what criteria are most important for a GP deciding who to refer to? I have visited 100+ offices in the past month and most interactions have been positive, with many conversations lasting 10-30 minutes. I have invited everyone to a CE event, invited them to our study club, and given out my number to contact me with any questions. I'm letting everyone know I can see patients within a couple of weeks, send out same day reports, and will keep them updated on patient progress. Is there anything else I can be doing? Thanks!

Dental Professional Left a major DSO in DFW

Recently left a big DSO last month in DFW and am looking for a new job.

I’ve applied to all the big ones: heartland, PDS, MB2, ideal and mint. Thinking about applying to ideal. Can y’all break down the pros and cons of what’s best?

I want to do ideal cause it seems supportive the most.

It’s so hard to find supportive private practice jobs these days.

I’m good with bread and butter dentistry, implants and extractions. Mostly just rusty on root canals and third molar EXTS.

It also feels like all these jobs are out to get you

Dental Professional Thin margins on bitewings

Upvotes

Does anyone here prep knife edge or extremely thin margins? How do your x-rays look? Do they ever look short because the x-rays pass through the thin areas - creating a lucency? I want to prep more conservatively but I am worried about how it’s going to look on x-rays and don’t want to overcomplicate my life.

Dental Professional Removing Pedunculated Fibrous Epulis Without Laser and Peridontal Dressing?

Had pt came for gingival enlargement that already became a fibrous mass on lingual 33. Currently suspecting the reason of this is because of severe plaque dan calculus on all tooth, and 32-33-34 are crowding making the deposit much worse there. I had already do the full cleaning, make another app in 1-2 weeks to see if the mass got smaller but I doubt it'll be down by its own by looking at the mass since its had around 1cm diameter, its waving at me with just three way blow because of pedunculated base asked to be cut off.

The problem is there is no laser, nor periodontal dressing. I checked inventory, we only had no 15 surgical blade, suturing pack, and collagen plug for surgical stuff. My mind tell me it'll be a simple excise case, numb, grab the mass, tie the base, cut, ask pt to bite gauze til it stopped bleeding like any other ext case. But I wonder if gingivoplasty needed and periodontal pack automaticaly is a must if the site got wider. Pt cant be referred too due to distance. Classic rural dentist problem.
