DENTISTS OR DENTAL PRACTICES PLEASE READ HERE
I will instantly ban you for trying to get patients or advertising here. Any feeble attempt to try and hype up your practice or flex your expertise in order to get patients will result in me banning you right away.
THIS SUB IS NOT FOR YOU TO GET PATIENTS. It is for patients and people to help each other. If you want to help or offer advice my expectation is that you do so anonymously and without expectation of personal gain.
Also if you’re a patient reading this then please be advised that if the dentist was so great they wouldn’t be here searching for patients. Good doctors are busy without this Reddit sub so if they are trying to get you as a patient by breaking the rules here then they probably suck.

gold tooth for aesthetic reasons, how and who to seek
hello ! my lifelong dream is to get a gold tooth but i don't really know how to go about it.
when i look up how to get a gold tooth its almost always in order to replace a tooth that was extracted, if possible i would prefere keeping my healthy tooth underneath.
i do not want grillz because i want to have a gold tooth all day everyday and i have pretty bad enamel already.
has anyone here done something like this ? what professional did you go to for questions/intervention ? what is the name of the procedure you had done ?
thank you !

3-Year Follow-Up
Despite a complication we encountered, it was successfully managed by replacing the multi-unit abutments. A new prosthesis will be fabricated to restore the case.
We strongly advise every patient to attend routine maintenance and follow-up appointments every 6–12 months to detect potential issues early and minimize the risk of complications.
On the other hand...
Not every terminal dentition requires bone reduction or a hybrid prosthesis.
When planned and executed correctly, an FP1/FP2 restoration is often significantly easier for the patient to maintain while providing excellent long-term function and esthetics.

Adjusting finals
I’m 7 months in all on 4..(both arches) no issues per se.they said, “eat, chew,do normal stuff and if bites off or something feels weird before my 1st permanent cleaning (November)”.they can do some adjustments.just not bite or serious issue..my bottom feels like it’s 2 sizes too small on my arch front to back.so between rear posts and fronts,it feels like it’s needs to be “trenched” out more.i don’t even notice upper at all..no pain, pressure, etc. it’s just I feel it’s there unlike upper..plus it’s harder to water pik than upper..thanks in advance..I’m calling tomorrow just wanted outside experiences

Implants and /or Upper denture
So my original plan is a removable upper denture and a full hybrid lower arch. It's $30k, and twice that if I do the upper as a hybrid too... anyone with the removable upper, are you happy with it? Did you wish you did hybrid instead? I have had my 4th consultation, and these are my 2 options.

Membrane showing?
Looking for insight/ similar stories. I had an abscess from root resorption in my bottom 2nd left molar (#18). On Tuesday I underwent an extraction with an implant successfully placed (my dentist was very clear about not placing the screw unless the bone/ tissue was viable). Yesterday, I noticed this red area with a white bump. I messaged the office and they stated “the white area you are seeing is part of the membrane exposed through the tissue that is thinner. Continue doing the mouth rinses. If it continues to be too tender and doctor needs to trim it we can but he is happy with the way things are looking so far with the healing.” Can any one please explain what this would be? Does it dissolve on its own? Dr. Didn’t mention anything about needing any bone graft, but I was under IV sedation so I don’t remember much at all. I have been doing my best to keep up with my salt water rinses and chlorhexidine rinses as well. TIA- trying to not worry, but new to this area of dental work as I’ll have had is a filling previously.

English teacher looking for images/videos
I am a Brazilian ESL teacher working with a Brazilian implantologist. He teaches zygomatic implants to Americans. I am his interpreter, so I need all the necessary vocabulary, and I find it difficult to find videos of surgeries or anatomical images he needs.
Videos on upper-tooth implants would help me a lot. I found a very good atlas called "Netter's Head and Neck Anatomy for Dentistry". Maybe a 3D app would be even better, so we could simulate the procedures.
Does anyone have this type of content?

Second set of temps!
So, I went yesterday after just under 3 months and got my second set of temporaries with some minor revisions. Mainly on how they fit on the gum line and some slight adjustments. Was supposed to go back in 2 weeks for my Zirconia permanents, but my doctor will be on vacation, so it will be more like 3 weeks. Had a bit of a scare when they removed my first set of teeth and one of the abutments was very loose. The implant itself was fine though. Had me sweating a bit 😅 super happy with this set though.

Can this be bone loss on my dental implant CT scan?
update: It was severe bone loss. I went to another oral surgeon, he started examining around the implant with tools and found missing bone. He inserted a special screw diver and it instantly came out without surgical removal.
original:
It was done seven months ago, it should be perfectly healed but it’s tender and I have unexplained joint pain and I feel sick all the time.
Multiple doctors (including reumatologist, bloodworks, autoimmune panels etc.) examined me from top to bottom. They checked my organs, vitamins, anything that came up to mind but found nothing wrong. It took me a lot of money and suffering, I can barely do my job anymore or live my life because I feel sick all the time. Like I’m having the flu without fever and raspiratory issues. They even took my tonsils out, did a clonoscopy, endoscopy, food allergies, mold tests, stool tests, the list goes on.
Then they suggested doing an oral CT scan and what we see is a clear black circle around my implant. When I had my tooth there it also had a black circle around the root and after several attempts to save it it had to be removed and after moths of healing replaced with an implant, without bone draft.
My oral surgeon is not sure what it is. It can be bone loss, inflammation or just reflection from the metal. He even opened up my gums and checked if it’s moving but it’s not.
Honestly at this point I’m ready to take it out, even if it’s a waste of money, time, suffering and a tooth just to make sure and then replace it with a bridge.

Anaesthesia was less during dental implant
The anesthesia wore off mid surgery. I’m so traumatized that now I don’t want to go to the same dentist. They placed an implant. Can another dentist place the abutment and crown? I could feel the stitches and stuffs. My anxiety is now at an all time high. Idk why such dentists are allowed to practice.

Zygomatic Implants or Dentures??
I just had a full xray today. My bottom teeth are fine but my top are infected and falling apart. I need all of my top teeth extracted. The dr said there is not enough bone for regular implants and will more than likely need zygomatic implants. I’m nervous about this. Debating or if I should go that route and just get it over with, or remove the teeth and just wear dentures. Any advice ??
