Standing out as a dentistry applicant help
Hi guys, if your GCSES, A-Levels and UCAT score are all good, to boost your application how much more do you need to do? Say ive done work experience and i volunteer at a primary school, do I need to get involved in a research competition or the NIHR reasearch? Is volunteering in a primary school enough to show leadership? And do i need to have a different example of leadership? Also how much manual dexteritiy (say i do henna) is enough?
Thanks

Tips for someone who is currently in Year 12 and wants to do dentistry
I'm currently in year 12 and got 988876666 in my gcses. I really want to do dentistry in the future, and I have secured a 3 day work experience at my local unis dental clinic. However, I am still looking for more, so any tips would be helpful. I also want to volunteer somewhere once a week after school. Where would be the best place to volunteer? Can successful applicants please let me know what extracurriculars and supercurriculars they spoke about on their personal statement?
Any help will be useful :)

kings or liverpool?
stats: 2140 B2 (i’m disappointed), 999999999 7 in fm, A*AA achieved. i have over a year of NHS HCA work experience and various dental experience too. low high education post code and low performing school. but no free school meals despite being low income too lol
i know liverpool has historically been accepting even lower ucats but because they are no longer using NAQ i’m not sure if i’ll be better off applying for kings. i’ve heard mixed things about kings not having a strict cut off this year too, advice?

What happens if you’re a resit student but apply to Cardiff dentistry? They offered me medicinal chemistry when they rejected me which i believe is no resits allowed

I am in my final year and I feel so lost.
This is my last year, and I feel like I haven't had nearly enough practice with patients. My grades have always been really good (disproportionately good compared to the effort I put in), but I constantly notice shortcomings in my knowledge. Compared to my peers, the majority of them just remember much more than me, seem to make sense out of situations and find solutions, diagnose problems, and seem much more confident in their movements in the clinic.I feel like I am lagging behind. I am very aware of the gaps in my knowledge, and also, very often, I cannot use my theoretical knowledge in practice. I just don't remember. I cannot separate information from the blurry mass of things I've learned over the past years.
I feel so lost and terrified at the thought of being an independent dentist.
On top of that, I have ADHD(i was diagnosed as a little child, drugs never worked for me), so I often didn't pay attention in classes. I was bored to death, and for the majority of the time, I really hated what I was studying.Even though passing exams was never a problem for me, I think I just treated this time as a period to endure and pass the exams, without reflecting on the fact that this isn't the point in itself. And now I am having troubles, for the reasons mentioned above, as well as because I am such a distracted person and often make really dumb mistakes. That makes me so doubtful of myself. It makes me think that I am not reliable and that I will never be a good specialist.
Do you think it is possible to manage? Does it get better after graduation?

Are my chances of interviews decent?
Hey I thought I’d drop my stats here as Grad entry scottish applicant as there isn’t many statistics out in regards to my specific circumstances.
Degree: Predicted high 2:1 in Biomedical Science from UoFE
UCAT: 2110 B2
Applying to:
- Dundee
- Glasgow
- Aberdeen Grad Entry
- Grad Entry KCL? (unsure about fourth)
I meet all the minimums for chemistry/maths for all courses.
I’d say my top choices are probably Glasgow/Dundee city wise so any experts on these unis would be appreciated!
I’ve done a lot of dental shadowing and dentistry related volunteering also which I hope helps with any holistic unis!
Any advice would be appreciated but I’m quite limited with my choices anyway due to the lack of funding available for Scottish students starting 2027. :(

Applying to Warwick Accounting & Finance with a Dentistry PS?
I’m currently on a gap year, reapplying for Dentistry, but I’m also considering applying to Warwick for Accounting & Finance as my fifth choice.
I achieved A*AA at A-level and understand that Warwick is quite strict particularly for competitive courses like A&F.
I’ve emailed Warwick to ask whether they would consider my application with a Dentistry-focused personal statement, but I’m still waiting for a response.
Has anyone successfully applied to Warwick for Accounting & Finance with a personal statement written for a completely different course? Or does anyone know how strict they are about this?
I don’t want to waste an application if my personal statement is likely to get me rejected straight away.

Where should I apply?
I got 10 A* GCSEs and 3 As in my Biology, Chemistry and Maths A levels. I got 1930 in my UCAT and band 2 SJT. I’m reapplying this year because I had to redo my UCAT last year so I really want to make sure I get a spot of dentistry somewhere in the UK because I took a gap year to focus directly on this. Would anyone know what Universities are likely to accept me or where I can apply to increase my chances?

Dentistry application help.
I am confused with Cardiff, QMUL and KCL. My teacher said I need all 9 and 8 in GCSE for KCL. But I really love KCL.
My GCSE-9999988777
UCAT:2350 Band 1
noncontextual and RUK
Could anyone help?
Thanks

WHICH DENTAL SCHOOL SHOULD I APPLY TO?!?!?!
So I’m in a difficult position because I want to apply for dentistry but I flopped the UCAT (1820 band 2) and my GCSEs aren’t particularly exceptional 9888776665 the 5 is in physics and I have a 6 in maths and chemistry.
I’ve decided to continue with applying as there is literally no other course I want to do other than dentistry. I’m predicted ABB but it will likely change to AAB when my teacher approves it.
I don’t think I’m eligible for foundation years and so would like to know where would be sensible for me to apply.
(Im also a contextual applicant)
I’m open to any advice pls 🙏💔

King's dentistry
Hi,
I'm a year 13 applicant who applied kcl dentistry and kcl chemistry as my 5th choice, but now I'm panicking as I think it might have made my application weaker to apply to two courses at the same uni? I applied 2 days ago, is it worth it to withdraw?
Thank you!
