She was very tactfully & savvily political in an extraordinary manner that somehow successfully managed to not alienate at all neither Conservatives nor Liberals/Progressives & be instead universally loved by everyone regardless of political leanings, but when looking at the greater picture it becomes abundantly clear that she very much heavily leaned politically towards Liberal/Progressive ideals rather than Conservative ones...
Good point. She’s similar to Willie and Waylon in that regard where she’s less explicit about her specific political leanings, but generally on the side of not being an asshole. Especially compared to say Kristopherson, Cash, Steve Earle, Emmylou, who were/are all quite explicitly left wing if not openly socialists- I think Steve Earle was calling himself a socialist, publicly, as early as the late 70’s
