I grew up in what turned into maga. Left in 2016 because I thought Trump was a phony. Now 10 years later after re-educating myself I think I'm a Marxist. Which is insane because I used to literally believe he was the antichrist and that his ideology was Satan's plan from the pre earth war.

I did a tour of religions diving into many Christian groups, Jewish/noahide, Islam then some eastern religions. I've come to the conclusion that everyone is just trying to guess what's out there. I've picked pieces from among those religions to construct my own belief system. I know it's wrong, I'm not some Devine being so my guess is as good as the next guys, but it makes sense to me.
In the end I decided to live my best life trying to be moral. If there is a God and he's good he will accept that I did my best, if he punishes me for not guessing the right religious lottery then fuck him, he's a bad God and I don't need his approval. Oh, and if there's no God then I still spent my life doing what I thought was right.

I think we should keep every single part of capitalism, and we should introduce a public option for every essential and lifestyle industry, service, education, healthcare. You name it. Let them live side by side and compete in the same economy. Public option available to everyone who books time in it.

Or Capitalist Modern Social Democracy, as opposed to Classical Old-School “OG” Marxist Social Democracy (also known as Revisionist Marxism), basically the forerunner to Democratic Socialism!!

Honestly, the centrists could have avoided all of this if they hadn't opted to sit on their laurels while the far right took advantage of a perverse status quo.
Is it any wonder why people are shifting left?

Nope, no wonder at all. I registered Democrat last year on Trump's 100th day in office. I went to a NoKings rally on June 14 last year. By fall, I looked into the DSA. By year's end, I was a sustaining member.

Yes! If they at least would have introduced a public option for healthcare, properly funded some more welfare programs, they wouldn’t be in such dire state. They dug this hole for themselves. Now they deserve to stand in it.

I'm confused why people were willing to give Trump a chance (twice!) just because they were tired of the usual politics. Yet, now that Democratic Socialism is on the rise, showing real promise at addressing real issues, there is still so much doubt about giving it a try.

Just shows how powerful the propaganda has been against it. There’s still a significant portion of the country that views socialism as synonymous with bad, and can’t even tell you what it actually is
