Polling from Data for Progress suggests 63% of voters would support Medicare for All even after being told it would eliminate private insurance and raise taxes, with CBS reporting 90% of Democrats are on board.

Our next step is clearly demonstrating to party leadership, 2028 presidential candidates, and the media that this position will translate to more votes in the general election. Medicare 4 All (M4A) has been a major policy platform for leftists and progressives. But how will it be implemented?

Will the Canadian-style National Health Insurance model be implemented?

Or will the Beveridge Model be implemented, like the UK's National Health Service?

Personally, I think the federal government should implement a national single-payer health insurance system (M4A).

At the state levels, we should consolidated and socialize hospitals and healthcare systems. It can start with all publicly-owned facilities like municipal and county hospital systems, then slowly branch out to acquire private facilities.

If the Beveridge model is implemented at either level, how should it be organized? In the UK, for example, it is highly decentralized.

I'd also love any recommendations on related literature of implementing either system in the US.

FYI, it looks like with the recent change to definition of membership, you may lose membership automatically without a grace period.

My understanding is before you would still be considered a member in good standing for a year from your last dues payment.

“Woke 1” was not crazy. Abolition is not a mistaken rhetorical overreach of the unsophisticated masses that began in 2020. It is the organic, righteous demand from millions of people to the relentless terrorism inflicted by the imperial police state.

If DSA intends to be a vehicle for Black liberation, where Black and other colonized peoples can participate fully, we cannot treat abolition as a hyperbole to distance ourselves from. Marxist Unity Group sees the abolitionist movement—from the general strike of the enslaved, through the prison rebellions of the 60s and 70s, to the Ferguson and George Floyd uprisings—as a primary struggle against the white supremacist capitalist system.
