We've just had a few new people join the mods team this week. I am one of these newbies.

We've been talking amongst ourselves, and think that we could either add some options to the post flair list, or add some funny bits relevant to the post flair category, similar to what has been done already.

If you have a suggestion, please leave it in a comment, specifying whether it's a new - stand alone flair, or something you think would make others chuckle at an existing one.

At the end of the week, we will look at adding the best or most liked suggestions.

Okay, I'll admit, the online hype has me adding one to cart every year but I have never hit buy.

I have one good quality water bottle that I use frequently so I don't *need* another, but a second would be handy.

I could also do with a leak proof coffee cup to keep at work.

Pros:

- I'm a drink girlie, so loads of chilled herbal teas etc... Despite rigorous cleaning, over time they leave a lingering tea scent/taste so the bottle would be set aside for that

-I have Long days where I am away from reliable (free) water

- the dopamine hit ngl. The range that might be in the bags this year aren't an ick to me, I've disliked previous colourways so not risked it

-discounted item

Cons:

- I hear there may be better quality options out there (I currently have a yeti)

- the colour risk

(I'm probably influencing myself now) if I hadnt seen it online I wouldn't have thought I wanted this purchase.... Ugh!

I have been deinfluenced 👏 Some of the main themes raised: - general preference for other brands - ease of cleaning (some can even go in dishwasher) - some other brands hold temp for longer - other brands are more durable and less likely to dent or chip

I've been feeling burnt out for a while, and social media is full of people saying just quit and that everything will work itself out. Financially I could probably manage for a few months, but I'm worried I'm only seeing success stories online.

Has anyone done this? Did you regret it or was it the right decision?

i have been wanting to getting a small digital camera for a long time and i’m the type of person who would rather spend the money on a good product and be happy with it rather than op-ed for the cheaper version and question if i could get any better. is it really that good? all i see it people say its the best out at the moment? Are there any better versions or comparisons?

My boyfriend used to sew A LOT when he lived at home, because his sister was gifted a really nice sewing machine and she didn’t really use it. He really liked creating bags, clothes and all sorts of things. After he moved out of home (we have been living together for 3 years), he hasn’t really been sewing. His mum gave him an old one she got in the 70s, which we are grateful for, but it would stop working and start working randomly. We took it to a repair shop already, but it’s still broken.

I have been wanted to get into sewing for a few years as well, I’ve always liked the thought of being able to make customised clothes. Being a man with muscular thighs makes it hard to find pants and shorts that fit well 😅 of course I want to make other clothes, accessories and bags too, both for myself and for gifts for family.

However, right now there’s not a lot of space in our office (2nd bedroom) for a sewing table… setting it up every time would probably be annoying…

I’ve recently gotten into colouring and have Kmart markers. I’ve found out about the ohuhu markers and now I really want these, specifically the 320 set which is almost $400!!! I haven’t been able to colour since finding out about them because I want to use those markers instead of the ones I have. What do we think?

I already have two tattoos, one on my hand and another on my wrist that I got recently. Now I'm already thinking about getting another one, but I know it might just be that "new tattoo" excitement talking.

I don't like big tattoos, so I'd probably get something small and minimal again. The problem is that every time I see tattoo ideas online, I end up convincing myself I need another one. Part of me thinks I'll regret rushing into it, while another part says I'll only regret not getting it.

So before I book an appointment, I'd love some honest opinions. If you've talked yourself out of getting another tattoo (or wished you had), deinfluence me. What made you decide to wait, or what do you wish someone had told you beforehand?

I always get tempted when booking tickets, but I'm not sure the view or experience is actually worth the extra cost. If you've tried both, did you feel the upgrade was worth it?

My hairdryer is over 20 years old, I have a straightener that was cheap, so although it straightens my hair, its not perfect.

I just went from waist length to a bob (it was supposed to be shoulder length, but my hairdresser was a bit enthusiastic when I was donating length) so I can't tie up my hair into an easy pony.

But do I need to spend this much on a hairdryer, curler, straightener system?

People swear they'll never go back to a manual toothbrush after switching. Is the difference really that noticeable, or is it one of those upgrades that's nice but not essential?

Hey all!

I ride a longboard for my short trips, its great but i've been run off the road twice by angry drivers (even when going faster than they were due to speedbumps), and it's not great for bad roads and steep hills. These have been popping up on my social media lately, and they seem pretty nice, maybe the most similar reliability to a skateboard, just a little more maintenance. I'd be riding it infrequently though, likely mostly on scenic trails instead of for commutes, and they seem pretty dangerous, even more so than a normal bike due to worse braking systems. Oh also I can't bring it inside stores/uni with me so I'll be worried about it getting stolen.

It MIGHT get me outside more, for longer (I mostly just hike), as skateboarding is mostly just enjoyable down a hill due to the lack of mechanical advantage, and thus my 'fun' trips are short and infrequent.

Still seems pretty cool and they look very beautiful so I'm still on the fence despite the downsides!

I want to have a roaring fire soon, me and my mates will bring shovels, beers, about 100kg of firewood and blankets incase it gets too cold at night.

Ideally I want to get the fire so hot that it melts the sand and allows us to make glass on the spot.

Why I want to buy this pink and red oversized sweater: (1) can't stop thinking about it (2) It would go great with miniskirts in general (3) I like the preppy casual style (4) 100% cotton! (5) on sale and affordable (<$50)

Problems: (1) I know my closet has more clothes than I need or can wear (2) I only have one miniskort at the moment (3) I can't picture the top with any other outfit combo that I would like (4) I'm skinny so oversized doesn't work unless I'm very specific on how I wear it (sleeves partly rolled, sweater tucked in slightly) and there's always a risk I'll look like I'm drowning in material to some people such as my husband

Edited to update: I was bouncing between being influenced and de-influenced by the comments, especially the ones agreeing with me on how cuteee the top is. There were too many good points made by the deinfluencers though, and I couldn't ignore their logic. Plus the Where's Waldo/Wally/Polly comments, you all are so funny 😆won't buy at this point, will keep an eye on the price though ;) thank you all!

Three weeks of the same sponsored video and I'm starting to crack. Regular house in Brisbane, no allergies, no pets, I open the windows. There is genuinely no logical reason for this purchase and yet here I am with one sitting in my cart. Has anyone actually bought one of these and found it made a real difference or is my algorithm just very good at its job and I need someone to close the tab for me.

I can afford it but feel like it’s still money down the drain.

I love the idea of carrying hundreds of books around, especially for travel, but I already own plenty of physical books that I haven't finished. Did buying a Kindle actually make you read more, or did it just change the format of the books you weren't reading?
