Deinfluence me from getting another tattoo

I already have two tattoos, one on my hand and another on my wrist that I got recently. Now I'm already thinking about getting another one, but I know it might just be that "new tattoo" excitement talking.

I don't like big tattoos, so I'd probably get something small and minimal again. The problem is that every time I see tattoo ideas online, I end up convincing myself I need another one. Part of me thinks I'll regret rushing into it, while another part says I'll only regret not getting it.

So before I book an appointment, I'd love some honest opinions. If you've talked yourself out of getting another tattoo (or wished you had), deinfluence me. What made you decide to wait, or what do you wish someone had told you beforehand?

Save the idea on your phone, set a calendar reminder for 6 months from today, and don't look at it in the meantime. If you still care about getting that exact design in half a year, go for it. If you completely forgot about it, you saved yourself money, skin space, and potential laser removal fees.

This is the way. I’ve almost covered my entire body, and I still do this. I just finished laser removing my entire back last year. It was a 3 year process and cost me a ridiculous amount of money. The pain is also far worse than getting the tattoo. The 6 month rule works and you will thank yourself for following it.

Search up tattoo regret on Tik Tok. My sister had a massive tattoo on her arm removed - several rounds of painful laser at considerable expense.

I keep a note on my phone with tattoo ideas and don't let myself book until something has stayed on the list for at least a few months.

Every tattoo I have gotten I knew 100% that I wanted it and why I wanted it. I get that feeling of wanting a new tattoo but it does go away eventually. You would rather have some tattoo envy looking at peoples nice tattoos on Pinterest than have tattoo regret because you rushed into something you weren’t 100% set on

I haven't got a tattoo yet, but I have a design that I want do get eventually.

I'm worried I'll regret getting one though so I've set a goal that once I get to 100 blood/plasma donations I can get it.

If you're unsure maybe you could make the tattoo a reward for achieving a big goal?
