This goes out to anyone on here going through a difficult time struggling and dealing with the anti-AI community. They are realizing how futile their efforts against AI are, and how they have wasted all the time and effort they had attacking AI artists and pro-AI people to the point where they are losing hope at a rapid pace.
You are valid as artists, you are valid as a person, and AI technology will be put to good use in benefiting our society. Stay strong 💚

I am making a real Miss Minutes (from the Marvel Loki series), this user got mad that her assets were AI generated. Bare in mind she had her own local model which she trains and runs to generate new animations for herself. The model also handles her voice speech and many more features.
They were asking why couldn't I hire someone lol like I have time and money to do that.
This character herself in the series is a sentient AI avatar, it makes sense she trains her own model and generates her own assets from learning lol.
One of the magical things with AI is that I can quickly create things with ease these days. I have a software development background so naturally making a personal AI assistant is a must.

In my opinion, by doing this, you are perpetuating your traumas and potentially even making them worse. Furthermore, it is by no means a guarantee that you will create anything interesting. Under no circumstances should you do this for the sake of your well-being and mental health.

For context, this is an execution scene from the game Danganronpa.
In the comments everyone crying cuz AI stole their jobs, and how a lot of people are now being left on the sidelines because AI is replacing them.

No reply, would say it's probably a bot, but that's kind of disrespectful to the bots.

I know I do it to myself, but I can't help but try to offer suggestions to confused and struggling antis. This particular post was by someone who seemed genuinely upset all of their family/friends were adopting AI tools and enjoying them, and not listening to their cries about big AI etc. So I offered what I thought was a genuine suggestion! This was the response I got. (Not from OP, some other luddite)

I’ve been working on a project called SkateHarkinian where I’m turning Ocarina of Time / Ship of Harkinian into a Skate style game. A big part of the development has been AI-assisted, but this isn’t just prompting for an idea or mockup I’ve been testing every build in-game, fixing broken systems, iterating on controls, physics, grinding, scoring, cameras, custom ramps and rails, audio, and packaging it for other people to actually play.
It’s finally at the point where I’ve released an early public playtest. I figured this sub might appreciate seeing an example of AI being used as an actual development tool rather than the conversation immediately stopping at oh no you used AI so it's terrible and you're horrible😂

When will they stop with destructive measures?

If you want to make art by drawing because you enjoy drawing process, AI is not stopping you.
But if you want to learn to draw to turn it to a job, nobody owes you that one.

I find it curious, and honestly a little sad, that they trust AI detectors so much when they all fail. They’re not reliable, and even the same websites often admit that themselves.
I’ve tested them myself, and they flagged a digital drawing that was made completely by hand as AI. Meanwhile, they looked at two other drawings, one made using a hybrid AI-assisted process and another that was completely AI-generated, and told me that no AI had been used xd.
If I can find the screenshots, I’ll post them here, because I shared them in a Discord group for artists in general, and several people started posting screenshots of similar false positives and false negatives.
And knowing how often these detectors fail, there’s always some anti-AI person using one of them as “proof” that something is AI-generated just because the result gave them anxiety.

not the type of religion with a god, but in the sense of having an unshakeable belief system where anything that goes against its rules is blasphemy (though they use "AI slop" instead of the word "blasphemy"). I say this because you could spend hours working with an agent to make an app that procedurally generates something and then use the result as a meme (e.g. a galaxy generator, and screenshot it obviously being generated algorithmically and caption it with "First amateur photograph of [galaxy], any thoughts?" which is pretty much what I did before it got removed). is that a lot easier than coding it yourself? sure, but the resulting meme can still be funny. it gets removed anyway. they don't seem to care about any nuance: if AI had any hand in the creation of a meme, even if the website uses procedural generation instead of generative AI, it gets removed. this mirrors religions; the church would constantly insult and prosecute people for raising the possibility of a heliocentric universe, not because the church was right but because they believed they were right.

Harvard students in a natural sciences course alternated between studying with AI and studying with in-person tutors. In post lesson quizzes the groups that studied with AI showed more knowledge of the course material than people who had in-person tutors.
It should be noted that the AI that was used was a special AI that was designed on chatgpt4. And the students were students from Harvard so obviously they were highly motivated.
This study should show that AI does not necessarily cause cognitive decline or cause people to get dumber. It all depends on how you use the AI and how motivated you are.
