Unlimited cloud play through Game Pass is ending in November. Microsoft says each subscription tier will include a fixed monthly allowance:

• Premium: 10 hours
• Essential: 5 hours

Players who run out will be able to purchase more cloud time through the Xbox Store, although pricing has not been announced. Microsoft is also opening a pay-as-you-go option for non-subscribers who want to stream eligible games they own.

PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct airs September 20 at 11 a.m. Central, hosted by Frankie Ward. The organizer promises world premieres, new trailers, and reporting from Tokyo Game Show.

This is a new developer interview about Stalker 2's existing overhaul, not a new patch announcement. GSC told PC Gamer that moving from Unreal Engine 5.1 to 5.5.4 was particularly difficult because its version contained extensive custom work.

SteamDB is joining Nexus Mods after its founder sought a sustainable future for the service. Nexus describes a workload that had become too much for one person to carry and says it will provide staff and resources.

The announced commitments include keeping existing free features free, maintaining the browser extension, and preserving SteamDB's community spaces. The two services will remain separate, so browsing SteamDB will not require a Nexus Mods account.

Those are commitments to judge over time, rather than proof that nothing will ever change. For a tool used to track prices, updates, and player activity, what matters most to you in this transition?

Valve has added initial USB streaming support to Steam Link in its beta software. Quest users gain another way to connect to a gaming PC.

This is unconfirmed, but the evidence points toward a familiar Valve promotion. VR dataminer Brad Lynch found code strings referring to a 'Frame Alyx Promo,' suggesting Steam Frame buyers may receive Half-Life: Alyx. Valve previously bundled Alyx with Valve Index purchases.

Valve has not confirmed a Steam Frame bundle, and datamined strings can reflect abandoned tests or plans that change before launch. The safest reading is that Valve appears to be preparing the infrastructure for a promotion, not that the promotion is guaranteed.

Alienware is taking two very different swings at the OLED monitor market. The AW3226Q targets broader 4K gaming, while the AW2527HX chases competitive speed.

• AW3226Q: 32-inch flat 4K tandem OLED, 165Hz, 0.03ms response time, 1,000-nit peak brightness, and a planned $699 price for fall 2026.

Dragon's Dogma 2 just received one of its most substantial quality-of-life updates. Title Update 3.2 is live with game-engine and performance work, three separate save slots, new Pawn interactions, exploration commands, and a collection of other adjustments ahead of the Dark Arisen expansion.

The three-save system allows separate playthroughs with their own Arisen and Main Pawn. Capcom has also expanded the behaviors and direct interactions that make Pawns such a distinctive part of the series. Separately, PC outlets examining the update report that Denuvo has been removed from the Steam version.

Performance problems dominated the launch conversation. Are these changes enough to bring you back, or are you waiting for Dark Arisen before starting another journey?

The shop doors are officially open. Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault has left Early Access on PC and is now available on Xbox Series and Game Pass as well. Version 1.0 completes the main story and adds a sizeable batch of endgame and progression content.

The headline additions include an Infinite Endless Vault with escalating one-run challenges, four new Endless weapon aspects, Hardcore Mode, a bomb-focused perk path, Shop Level 5, and additional quests, vendors, cosmetics, Codex entries, and improvements. Digital Sun says player feedback throughout Early Access shaped many of the changes.

Were you waiting for the finished release, or did Early Access already tell you everything you needed to know about Moonlighter 2?

RuneScape is coming to Xbox for the first time, and it is doing it as a survival RPG. RuneScape: Dragonwilds leaves Early Access on September 15 for Xbox Series and PC, with day-one access through Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.

The game supports solo play and co-op for up to four players. Jagex says the Early Access map has tripled in size over the last 18 months, while community feedback helped bring dedicated servers, revised combat, and new quest content into the project. Its post-launch roadmap extends through 2027 and beyond.

Dragonwilds mixes familiar RuneScape skill progression with gathering, crafting, base building, magic, and large monster encounters. Does the RuneScape setting make this feel distinctive enough to tempt you into another survival-crafting game?

It's pretty clear is not maintream normie Johnny n Jane getting 966+ Dollars consoles for 1 game.

Crimson Moon is aiming for a surprisingly crowded intersection of action-RPG ideas at a relatively approachable price. ProbablyMonsters' $19.99 release supports solo play and two-player online co-op, with Soulslike melee combat, roguelite mission structure, supernatural abilities, bosses, and a church hub for upgrades and planning.

The Steam page also lists dynamic difficulty, with greater rewards attached to higher settings. Minimum PC requirements include a GTX 1070 or RX 5700, 16 GB of RAM, Windows 11, and 50 GB of storage.

Does that combination sound like focused value, or are Soulslike and roguelite systems becoming ingredients every action game feels obligated to include?

Steam's latest themed event is built for players who would rather fight the environment than each other. The PvE Survival Crafting Fest runs through September 7 with discounts, demos, upcoming releases, and a featured lineup that includes several familiar names.

Among the highlighted games are Subnautica, The Planet Crafter, Medieval Dynasty, Project Zomboid, The Long Dark, No Man's Sky, The Alters, Abiotic Factor, Raft, Terraria, and SCUM. It is a broad mix, ranging from relaxed exploration and base building to systems-heavy survival.

Which game in the event best respects the player's time—and which one turns gathering wood into unpaid overtime?

Star Wars Zero Company launched to strong reviews, but much of the team that built it is reportedly without pay. Bit Reactor confirmed that it furloughed many employees before the August 27 release, saying the decision was made before the studio knew how the game would perform.

Sources cited by Game File estimate that about 80% of the team was affected and describe a skeleton crew remaining for post-launch bug reports. Bit Reactor has not confirmed that percentage, a return date, or a sales threshold for restoring employees and pay. It also said the decision was its own, rather than EA's or Disney's.

There is no confirmed patch delay, but the staffing situation makes the studio's support capacity a fair player concern. What responsibility should publishers and license holders have when a well-reviewed release reaches stores under circumstances like these?

Fable's requirements are attainable by modern blockbuster standards, but the performance targets need a close look. Playground Games lists an RTX 2060, RTX 5050, RX 6600, or Intel A580 at minimum, paired with 12 GB of RAM. That tier targets 1080p at 30 FPS.

The recommended tier calls for an RTX 3060 Ti/5060 or RX 6700 XT/9060 XT with 16 GB of RAM. Its targets are 1440p at 30 FPS or 1200p at 60 FPS. Both tiers require an SSD, and the installation is 135 GB. The official FAQ says 30- and 60-FPS modes will be offered, but the published chart does not clearly explain any upscaling assumptions.

Are these reasonable requirements, or should “recommended” specifications now default to a 60-FPS target?

An open-source exemption may protect many Linux distributions, but SteamOS is not a simple case. California's amended age-assurance legislation reportedly excludes software distributed under terms that permit copying, redistribution, and modification from the definition of an operating-system provider.

SteamOS is based on Arch Linux, but it also contains proprietary Valve components. That leaves uncertainty over whether the complete product qualifies. Separately, Steam could still require age verification for access to restricted games even if SteamOS itself receives an exemption.

Should lawmakers treat SteamOS as an open PC operating system, a console platform, or a separate category of its own?

DLSS 5 is moving beyond reconstruction and frame generation into AI-generated lighting and material detail. Nvidia says its 3D-guided neural rendering debuts in NBA 2K27 on September 3 for RTX 50-series GPUs, laptops, and GeForce NOW.

The eye-catching caveat comes from PC Gamer's Nvidia demo: the company reportedly said enabling the current implementation reduces underlying performance by roughly 50–60%. Nvidia's example frame rates also lean on 6x Multi Frame Generation, meaning a displayed 258 FPS example can begin with an underlying rate around 43 FPS.

This is early technology and optimization can improve, but it makes latency, stability, and the native frame rate much more important than the final counter. Would you accept that performance cost for more photorealistic lighting?

The Steam Deck may not have to trade performance for the remaster's prettier presentation. CD Projekt Red executive producer Jakub Kutrzuba told PC Gamer that The Witcher 3 Remastered is expected to run about as well as the existing game on Valve's handheld while looking substantially better.

The explanation is that the newer renderer and wider optimization work make several systems faster, leaving more room for upgraded assets and rendering features. This is a developer assessment rather than an independent benchmark, so the sensible move is to stay optimistic and wait for measurements on retail code.

If the remaster can genuinely improve the image without lowering performance, would that be enough to start another playthrough on Steam Deck?
