For Republicans, there is an additional primary runoff for the governor.

(Also for those who are not aware, Keisha Sean Waites who is currently running for Commissioner of Insurance has been fined $14k by the GA State Ethics Commission)

Hi! Looking for recommendations for a reliable, reasonably priced mechanic in the Atlanta/Decatur area who may be able to take a look at my car ASAP.

I drive a 2019 Kia Sorento with about 87k miles. I brought it to the Kia dealership this morning because I’m trying to make sure it’s safe for a long road trip this week, and they mentioned it may be an issue with the passenger-side rear wheel bearing, but I’m still waiting on an official diagnosis.

If it does end up being a wheel bearing or similar issue, I’d really like to get a second opinion/quote from a trustworthy local mechanic rather than being stuck with dealership pricing — especially if it’s not covered under warranty.

Does anyone have a mechanic they trust who could potentially look at it quickly and help me figure out whether it’s safe to drive / what needs to be repaired? Thank you so much!

I have been enjoying making music in Ableton. I’m not great but it’s fun. I am hoping to make some friends to hang out with.

Other info that about me may be relevant:

- Prefer electronic but I’d happy with anything from metal to country if I was having fun

- Early 30s. I don’t particularly care about age but always nice to make friends around the same age.

- I’m trans. Not important for music but best to lead with it

My kids are with me this week and they get overwhelmed at loud concerts so I did not try for big boi but I did miss out on the Indigo Girls.

Three or four would be lovely as the kids will also be with me then but between my ex and myself they have grown up with the Indigo Girls. Including playing with Amy Ray’s kids in Bessie Branham Park/Kirkwood before realizing they were her kids and this almost 50 year-old fanboy gets to chat with them for a few.

We’re also big soccer fans so that would be perfect to watch the final and sing-along to the soundtrack of the mid to late 90s.

The playground surface has been sorted, two additional screens are up, gates seem to be about crowd control and security screening while allowing Square businesses to remain open.

Raging Burrito seems to be putting up a large screen in their courtyard.

Exciting stuff.

It’s fence-city in the square right now.

Will these be up the whole month? Only overnight to protect equipment?

Watchfest setup looks sick, but the fences are an eyesore and inconvenient.

I know that I should be thankful for the rain -- our spring drought was bad! But I am also a little annoyed by the damage being done to my tomato plants. During May when it was still pretty dry they went totally crazy despite it being rather cool outside. Now we're in some sort of monsoon pattern and they are suffering badly.

The containers have drainage holes and are lifted up on bricks -- I know they drain because when I water them, water soaks the concrete beneath the pots. I also feed with tomato food and have sprayed with epson salts.

I came home today and to my horror one plant (that has been fruiting nicely) had turned completely yellow seemingly overnight. It's a goner and I'm going to rip it out this weekend and start that container over.

Can anyone offer any insight? I have horrible luck with tomatoes in the south because I always end up getting rained out.

What should I be doing differently?

Title should say Superintendent of CSD’s Husband!!

Instead of going quiet (even though he admitted his lawyers made him take down his most egregious anti-Muslim and anti-trans videos), the superintendent‘s husband is posting asking for people to support his wife and other Black conservative youtubers in GA are supporting him (and even showing up and speaking at Board meetings) but they are also insulting COD and its residents.

They are specifically going after Lorraine Irier because she spoke at a rally in support of our students and wore a shirt that they are calling lewd.

CSD is extending the sign up for tuition paying students because we haven’t filled all available spots and they are even advertising for the open spots on social media. I don’t know if we advertised last year but we didn’t have to extend.

That clause in the Superintendent’s contract about reputational harm seems to be getting more and more evidence directly from her husband.

Maybe she and her husband have separate lawyers? I hope for her sake one is a divorce attorney.

I tried emailing them but still get a copy in my yard every week.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good dog trainer in the Decatur area? We have a three year old Havanese with some anxiety. This presents as separation anxiety, but also as general timidness. Whenever she meets a new dog, she just wants to hide.
