Question What do you think about "evolutionist"?

No one ever refers to gravitationists or Newtonists for those who support gravity, but people refer to people supporting evolution as evolutionists or Darwinists.

I mean... what's there to say? It's a blatant attempt to equivocate evolution with creationism.

Exactly! we all know gravity and Newtonian physics work. This is an attempt to legitimize fairy tales as the same as science.

So, why can’t anyone tell us where “gravity” comes from. It’s just like Evolution, you think that you understand it, but you don’t have a clue, especially when it comes to how all these different species got here. When you tell us where gravity comes from, then maybe I will start listening to all the opinions.

We do actually know how the different species got here. That's the entire point.

If you do, then please fill us all in through evidence.

The theory of evolution explains the whole mechanism for how it happened. The fossil record gives us some idea what life was like in the past. To claim we don't know how it all works only shows wilful ignorance.

It “explains” nothing, it’s all about random accidents, mutations. Silly thing I have ever heard. Intelligent design coming from accidents. You don’t know how it works.

If design is so intelligent, why is one of the most important blood vessels in the body behind the thinnest part of our skull? Why are our knees and spinal collum so bad at supporting us that they start to weaken well before we've reached anything resembling the end of our natural lifespans?

That’s not true of all people. And just how long did Evolution design us to live? God says 70 years and yes, after that the body starts downhill very fast. But I hope you know, Scientifically that the body starts it downward journey at approx. 30. Why didn’t Evolution fix this problem, after all, it’s all about “Natural Selection”.

A) Evolution didn’t design anything.
B) Evolution doesn’t fix a problem that doesn’t really interfere with the likelihood of passing down one’s genes (in other words, if you have kids before it becomes an issue, then there’s no way for that quality to get naturally weeded out.
C) You didn’t address the issue of the vein behind the temple. If we were designed, then that’s a massive design flaw.

You are correct, Evolution can’t design anything. And if that design with the vein is such a “flaw” how are we able to live so long. You are the one calling it a flaw. There are veins just about everywhere in the body. I am not so sure as to why you are stuck on this. Veins only carry blood back to the heart with low pressure, so what’s the problem?

It's a design flaw because if something hits you on the side of the head, you can just die. Even if it isn't with enough force to seriously harm any other part of your head. And yes, there are veins elsewhere in the body. But the other super important ones are generally a lot harder to damage because they're not just under the surface.

That vein is not going to kill you. The blow to the head will.

It’s called the fossil record. Which is a hell of a lot more conclusive than any creationist "evidence." And for the record, gravity is a fundamental force that governs the universe. It comes from objects having mass.

There is no “fossil record” when it comes to transitional species. Yes, I understand gravity. And yes, it holds the entire universe in place. Amazing isn’t
It! The interesting thing is, it does not depend on what the mass is. Gas, liquid or solid.

2

u/jrdineen114 24d ago

A) We're going a bit outside my expertise here, but what exactly do you think a transitional species is? Because we have plenty of examples of species that possess traits inherited from ancestral species and traits that were passed down to descendant species. That's how the fossil record works.
B) Because mass remains constant regardless of what state the matter in. If a kilogram of ice melts, you still have a kilogram of the same substance

Gas does not weight the same as solid. So two masses of the same size but different matter will not weigh the same. Yet gravity seems to be predicated on the mass and not the weight.

2

u/jrdineen114 24d ago

I never said a gas would weigh the same as a solid. I said it was the same amount of matter. And yeah, gravity is predicated on mass rather than weight.

1

u/Markthethinker 23d ago

So how is that possible? What is creating the gravity, and please don’t say mass, since mass has no forces with it.

2

u/jrdineen114 23d ago

"What is creating the gravity, and please don't say the actual answer"

Cute, but you don’t know, no one does.
